Texas Steakhouse & Saloon

Can you leave a negative star? One star is too good. Probably the worst restaurant in Wilson. Gross restaurant, poor service, horrible food. We tried it twice thinking it was just a fluke… but all in the party had serious food poisoning both times! I don’t recommend and would not eat here if it were the only food left on earth.

I hadn’t been here in years. Went a bit ago, and the bbq sauce is gone. Now they use Sweet Baby Ray’s. They used to be known for the bbq sauce. Avoid this. You can do the same at home with a bottle from your pantry using your grill.

Great food, quite enough to talk, old fashioned yeast rolls, good music, had perfect ribeye steak and ribs, sweet potato all was fantastic! Erica provided awesome service!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Abundance of tasty food, but sadly, it leaves no room for what look like yummy chocolate desserts. :(

We finally did receive the coupon in the mail, so we decided to go out and try Texas one more time, it was «on the house» so we had nothing to lose. This trip was a total turn around from the last. The waitress was attentive, the food was hot and served in a timely manner. Thank you to the management for the compensation and thank you for showing yourselves the way I remember. Good, fast, and friendly.

Worst excuse for a steak house ever. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out burned to a crisp. Manager offered me anything on the menu on the house but by that time, I had lost my appetite. Even tho waitress was friendly and service was good, I will not be back.

Tonight’s crab cake seemed almost room temperature when it arrived to the bar table as i peered into the already full bucket of broken peanut shells left on the table from the previous visitors i guess. Most of the time the crab cake is better. Also noticed the same light bulbs have been out for months, maybe they are keeping it dark to shade the lack of night business.

Have never been there till today, wife went to the restroom and it was NASTY! Burger was very disappointing for being a steak place. Sweet tea was NOT sweet, manager drops check off WITHOUT asking if we wanted any dessert, wife’s drink was empty and didn’t ask if she was wanting a refresher. As we left, hostess barely glanced at us, not a thank you or anything! Really!!! Piss Poor… Rick

Service was great. Our server Laura was very professional. The food was okay. It was about what I expected. Had Salmon and ribs. The salmon was very good. They need to work on the ribs. My wife had a ribeye she said it was cooked perfectly. We are in Wilson a lot so we will be back.

My family and I decided to make a stop here for dinner on our way to Myrtle Beach, SC. We were greeted by a friendly host, and were promptly seated, with no wait, even during the evening rush on a Friday night. Our waiter was prompt, polite and incredibly outgoing. I ordered a ribeye along with a Caesar salad and sweet potato. The Caesar salad was traditional and satisfying. The 12 oz. hand cut ribeye was cooked perfectly with very light seasoning, perhaps too little for some, but the excellent cut more than made up for the lack of seasoning, it was tender and juicy. I had very little fat on the steak; a pleasant surprise and the sweet potato was delightfully sweet, served with butter and cinnamon. Overall a fantastic dining experience. I highly recommend this steakhouse.

Come here pretty often, have to say I was pretty disappointed tonight.
Plenty of booths empty they insisted they had tables but I insisted I preferred booth. Our waiter was very attentive but the food was not at all what I expected.
My salad was watery from where they did not let lettuce dry before servingz
Ribeye was not seasoned well and my hubby ordered mac & cheese and well lets say you could taste the water it was cooked in.

I highly recommend the filet minion steak. The freshest and best steak I have had in a long time. The service was top notch and our service staff could not be nicer. My friends and I drove from New Jersey on our way to myrtle beach South Carolina. What a nice place for dinner. I would definitely come back

Smokey! Arrived about 6:00 pm and was overwhelmed by smoke. I realize it is a steakhouse, and smoke is part of the ambiance, but my eyes were in tears by the time I left.
Since it was «Wine Wednesday» and they offered bottles of wine for $ 10, my partner and I ordered a bottle. Now, one would think that management would be prepared with enough wine to meet the demand … but no. We had to settle for a third choice of wine before they actually had a full bottle.
My rib-​eye was OK, with with more fat and grizzle than I would have expected. The steak fries were cold. My partner had salmon and it was good.
Overall, everything was OK, but if I am ever in the area again, I will try another restaurant before coming back to this one — unless I see the reviews on Unilocal improve.

Ate here for lunch with party of 5 ½. The seafood steak all the dishes were decent and good value
Service was very friendly and didn’t take long but the restaurant was not that busy
Fried pepper jack cheese as an appetizer was good
The value was good and everyone was full for lunch
The restaurant also has a separate bar which has TVs for sports

Overall terrible experience. Arrived at restaurant just a few minutes after 5. Two tables were seated prior to our arrival. It took over an hour to receive our food. Nearly. 45 minutes to get appetizers and salad. Waitress was not impressive. Multiple minutes went by with empty water glasses. I’m still waiting for the bread to come out of the oven and for our waitress to bring it to the table. Food was poorly seasoned and not very tasty. I will have to be hard pressed to come back here and eat again

My husband and I stopped here for a «quick» lunch… I ordered a 6oz steak medium with veggies and he ordered a iron skillet… took them 45 minutes to bring out our food… my husbands meal was fine, but mine was burnt and I couldn’t cut it. They brought me out another one 15 min later and that was well well done too! The waitress and manager where just as nice as they could be about the situation, But the cook needs some lessons and you definitely don’t want to go there if you’re in a hurry!

Three chances to get it right and they seem not to be able to. Had to go to the bar to get my own soda refill. Steak was mostly fat and the salmon was rubber. Asked for a manager and all I got from him was excuses. He tried to say he is a new manager but her was the same one we delt with 4 months ago

Food: A++ the steaks are delicious and cooked to order properly. Excellent rib eye and minimal seasoning, best I’ve had in a restaurant in quite a while! Fresh veggies are the way to go and the asparagus is crunchy and just a lil spicy, delicious.
Ambiance: Looks and feels like a steakhouse, bar is comfortable and booths for comfortably. Lighting is moody and low enough to provide a comfortable ambiance.
Extras: usually have the game on the tv by the bar and free peanuts to snack on and butter dinner rolls while you wait.
Service: sometimes slow at lunch time but overall my food is out in no time.
I’m there a couple times a week at least and will continue to do so!

The food is good. The atmosphere is below average and dated.
I don’t like to sit at their dark, cramped tables. The bar area is fine however.

There are a few places in town when it comes to planning a big party, since the company always goes to Something Different, which is always nice to have good catering; every so often, one would want a fresh taste. Texas Steakhouse is that change of scenery.
Whenever my department has some anniversary celebration, we always reserve the big tables after work. The service here is always really good.
I don’t know if this is the best Texas taste outside of the Longhorn state, but I do enjoy the foods here. I always stuff myself on the bread before dinner, since they are fresh and kinda soft and fluffy. I can definitely kill myself over some overloaded Texas skillet, or seriously indulge my carnivore side with the Grilled Ribeye or CheeZy Chicken. A good surf and turf, and scrumptious crab cakes are always welcome on my dinner table.
Over all, very good solid choice all the way around. I would be surprised if we don’t end up here again next week. I think there’s another anniversary coming up!
