Great food & perfect service! Don’t let grill mislead you into thinking this is a burger and sports TV dive.

I eat here at least once a week and every meal I’ve had has been great. Probably my favorite restaurant for dinner in Wilson.

Enjoyed a fantastic filet mignon, at a very reasonable price. But the roasted red bliss potatoes were soggy and spongy. Sparse wine list for a steakhouse, but all in all a good experience.

First visit here and had a very good experience! Ordered the apple and gorgonzola salad and it was very fresh and tasted excellent. Very friendly and attentive server. Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that we came for lunch and martinis and were told they do not serve martinis at lunch… seemed odd for a restaurant that advertises as a restaurant and martini bar. Nonetheless, we will definitely be back!

My husband and I have eaten at Jacs twice now. Both times we were pretty impressed! My dad was in visiting from PA and this is the place we decided to bring him. The steak is always excellent. The sides are equally scrumptious. They have a lot of great options from seafood to steak to salads. The service has always been decent. The dining area does feel a bit cafeteria like to me personally. It’s not very intimate and is pretty crowded. We will continue to venture to Wilson for Jacs!

I have frequented Jacs for the last four years around 6 — 8 times and I must say that it has slowly gotten worse with with each visit but the last was terrible. Our team ordered the ribeye steak sandwiches, BLT and a bowl of french onion soup. All of the six people at our table where dissatisfied with out meals. We all thought the portions of steak were tiny, the sandwich had two slices of bacon, one slice of tomato and the soup was terrible. We asked the manager to come over and discuss with us which he did but I had this feeling that he really did not care. To top it off they put a 20% tip on our party of six. Long story short — Jacs has lost the luster and is now a dull example of a restaurant that has had its better days behind it. They have not reinvested any money into the atmosphere and it is evident. The portions are not what they once were and I really think that they do not care. Too bad it use to be a nice place.

We came here while in town for a soccer tournament. The restaurant wasn’t dead, but there wasn’t a wait. It took a full hour to get our food after we ordered!!! It was ridiculous. It also took more than 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. The worst part about it was the lack of a kids menu. When we asked what they had for kids they said ‘kids pasta’ or some cut up fried chicken. We ordered pasta Alfredo. It was a small bowl of PLAIN penne pasta with Alfredo sauce. Without a drink it cost $ 8.00. Absolutely ridiculous! I would never recommend this restaurant due to the service.

I was in town for 2 nights while working on a project at a client site. The first night I was in town, I didn’t finish work until 8pm… and was really hungry when I left. I pulled up my Unilocal App so I could find a cool locally owned place rather than one of the many chain restaurants in town. I found Jac’s and was there in 5 minutes. I took a seat at a table in the bar area and ordered a glass of wine & a water. At $ 6 for a glass of wine, I wasn’t sure if I would be getting some vinegar-tasting swill, but I was pleasantly surprised that the wine they served was very good for $ 6. They had a lot of nice options on their menu, and I ultimately decided to go with the Salmon Oscar… seared salmon w/jumbo lump crab meat & asparagus over a huge bed of mashed potatoes & topped with a yummy bearnaise sauce for $ 22. Oh, and they brought out some yummy bread with a brown sugar cinnamon butter. The food portion was large & everything was cooked perfectly — I especially appreciated that the salmon & asparagus were not overcooked! Everything was so good that I went back the next night too. I rarely do that because I like to explore new places. So this time, I ordered the Chicken pasta. It is a grilled chicken breast over penne with spinach, mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes($ 18). It typically comes in a prosciutto cream sauce, but I asked if they could make my sauce with no pork and they were happy to oblige. So I enjoyed another good meal. Service was fast & friendly… the food was excellent and the price point was very reasonable for this quality of food! I would definitely recommend this place and will be sure to go back on my next visit to this area! Way to go guys… keep up the good work!!!

I took the family to Jac’s last night to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Jac’s has a casual atmosphere with table, booth, and bar seating and also an outdoor patio. The menu is complete with an interesting section containing lists of entrees, starches, veggies, and desserts which allows you to choose from each list, creating your own meal, which I thought was a nice time saving convenience. We ordered drinks and the lettuce wraps for an appetizer, which was great and not a heavy fill-up before dinner. My son and I had the crab cakes which comes with steamed spinach on a bed of risotto with a cracked pepper tomato cream sauce which was excellent with a hint of heat and lots of lump crab in the cakes. My wife had the 8oz. rib eye steak with roasted red potatoes and stir fry veggies. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. My mother-in-law had the baby back ribs with mashed potatoes and broccoli florets. The ribs were delicious with a tangy sweet sauce and the potatoes were very light and well seasoned. We were all very well satisfied with the experience and would certainly come again. Our waitress was super friendly, punctual, and more than happy to box up our leftovers from our more than adequate portions. The only thing keeping me from awarding five stars was I felt the risotto was a little tight and sticky instead of being creamy, but it tasted fine and wasn’t at all gummy bad. Overall a great experience, and we all agreed we would not hesitate to make a return visit.

I’ve been to Jac’s for a very long time and even back when it was located in another location in town. On average it is the best food in Wilson with a good atmosphere to boot. Their food is fresh, well prepared, with sauces and condiments you do not get most places in this small town. The lunch menu is very good and dinner menu is even better. Steaks are great, tuna is fresh, shrimp and grits are great and the specials are usually first class. The owner is a nice person and willing to bend over backwards to make sure everything is as requested/expected. And I love the fact you have choices in atmosphere; you can sit in a nice dining room, a bar or outside. The only negative is the banquet room is too shut-off from the rest of the restaurant and I think a window should be added. But other than that, I’ve never had a bad experience and I’ve been there on many business lunches and dinners with my family. We’ve even brought our young kids in there with us for an early dinner and they were treated super nice as well, but I would not recommend this place to kids though unless it is out of the normal dinner time. Some have complained about various things on these comments and I’ve never experienced those. I encourage you to speak up while there not just on Unilocal!Ask the waitress for the owner or manager and let them know what is wrong; they WILL fix it! There is no dress code and you should not feel like service is based on how you look although with one glance you should realize this is not a sports bar restaurant so use common sense. However, I have been there on a whim in gym shorts/tshirt and no one treated me wrong and in fact I got great service; I sat in the bar area. And of course the owner is going to stop and chat with people he knows and supports his business the most. That’s just human nature and I travel on business all over the US and see it all the time. I also assume owners sometimes feel people are there to EAT and not chat so he doesn’t want to bother them. We love this place and have supported it for years. Best food in Wilson for a very long time and has stood the test of time.

I hate writing bad comments… but I just have to for this unfortunate out come! While dining the meal was just fine, I even said it could be my new favorite… but in a matter of mins of leaving(in the car on the way home) my stomach started churning and without stating too much details of my conditions, I had food poisoning! The Dr.‘s determined that it could have most likely been from unwashed salad!

The food here is very good. I’ve never been disappointed with the quality and taste. My steak is always perfectly cooked and the sautéed spinach is amazing. I also love the lettuce wraps as an appetizer or light dinner. The wait staff are hit or miss. It just depends on who you have waiting on you. I do not dress up to go out to eat here, capri’s and a nice blouse are generally what I wear. Most of the time I do not feel this is an issue but then again we rarely sit in the main dining area. I feel it’s preferred that you dress up a bit more in that area. My husband and I generally go to dinner here at least twice a month and have been customer’s for over 2 years. We have had the owner stop by to greet us once. Yes, this is a little irritating because whether you are a first timer or a regular you should be treated the same as the«special» regulars. But then we don’t go there to be chummy with the owner. We go for the food and the covered outdoor seating which is generally where we sit. Smoking is allowed on the patio but we’ve not had an issue with it so far. It’s nice to have a restaurant in Wilson that is more«upscale». Plus not many families bring in young children. So you do not have the usual crying babies and rambunctious kids while attempting to have a nice relaxing dinner. I love my grand children but sometimes adults want to get away from the«family» dining experience. Jac’s generally provides that get away.

Food was good but nothing special. The service, however, was pretentious. If you are a local and know the owner you will be treated well. If you are from out of town stay away. We were given the worst table in the house(place was ½ empty), and were rushed through our meals(main course arrived while appetizers were only being touched). Manager was on the floor visiting the regulars and walked right by our table. We were dressed better than anyone else at the restaurant and also witnessed another table being treated the same by a different waitress. Avoid the lettuce wraps. It is like eating pure salt.

Stopped by at lunch, sat at bar. The place was packed. Several people were in the bar area discussing business. Great atmosphere! I had French Onion Soup. It was above average, not spectacular. The salad was fresh and tasty. For Wilson, I suppose it is upscale and it is on the pricier side.

I went to this restaurant for the first and last time on 3⁄9. I wasn’t dressed the best, but I’m not poor, and don’t deserve to be treated that way. First I ordered a drink and was told it cost $ 8.50 do I want it. I wonder if that question would be asked to someone in a suit. Second I ordered 2 appetizers and was asked is that all your ordering or are you going to order entrees. My girlfriend and I were both confused at this kind of treatment. I have had better food at more upscale restaurants then this one. And third the food was not great, but not bad. I would put it in the same category as a chain restaurant like Applebee’s. For 2 people my bill came to $ 100 which I am not complaining about, but to feel like I am below everyone in the room by my server, I can’t tolerate. No matter what a person looks like they should be treated with respect. I tell all of my employees this at all 8 of my restaurants. That waitress would have gotten a better tip from me, but because of her rudeness she lost that, and also lost my business for the owner of this restaurant. This is the first time I ever wrote a negative review on any restaurant.

Jac’s is a fairly fancy place for the location it resides in. Atmosphere — Dark, woody, upscale casual American fare, more tables than booths, good for a business client or your mom and dad. Service — Decent, knowledgeable staff guide you through your menu choices. Fairly prompt service that is friendly. Food — This is the place you would get a pork chop. In fact I did! I have been here twice and on my first visit I got the 10oz Bone in Pork Chop(see photo), which was pretty good to excellent. On another visit I had the chicken breast, which was a decent. I think their a’la cart menu is a great way to go in selecting your meal. Though they offer a lot of different sauces to perk up your meal, I do not think they are entirely necessary to enjoy your selection. The desserts here are brought in, which is not bad as I really love for some reason their deep fried cheesecake w/banana. It is soooo amazingly good for a produced elsewhere dessert. Overall — Jac’s is a great place for something a little better than your standard fare of chain restos. Give’m a try.

Jac’s accommodated our party of 8 on a Saturday night without much trouble — they got us set up in their conference-style private room(complete with projector!). Little touches like track lighting and local artwork help inject a little personality into a restaurant that seems a bit confused with how to project itself: Neon signage and plastic covered menus, mixed with purportedly fine dining. The interior of the restaurant itself does feel more dressed up than a café, but it’s still pretty casual. The offerings are New American, with a sometimes Southern influence, entrée prices mostly ranging in the $ 20’s. We started with three different appetizers. The fried green tomatoes were drizzled with an orange sauce that I didn’t feel particularly added to the dish. The flatbread came with a good amount of cheese; it actually reminded me of spinach artichoke dip on pita — which was a good thing. The lettuce wraps and chicken — I’ve had better versions of this — but they did give nearly a quarter-head of lettuce with it, enough chicken that we probably got around 10 servings, and the sauce had a little kick to it. The bread basket is served warm and comes with a giant dallop of GARLIC butter. It’s worth the calories. Also, the soup du jour — broccoli cheddar was pretty delish. Not too thick, and with just the right zing. For my entrée, I ordered the ahi tuna(sesame encrusted) prepared rare, with wasabi mash, and subbed the stir-fried veggies for a seaweed salad(that normally comes with a sashimi appetizer). The seaweed salad was sweet and slimy and good. The mashed potatoes? Money. The tuna, sadly, was a little disappointing — like a big slab of bland flesh. I guess I get so used to sashimi-grade tuna; having a normal piece prepared rare — when served undressed — is just not that awesome. I thought the service was pretty good. She handed our group — including vegetarian questions and substitution requests — with aplomb. She did forget the bread a few times, but she was pretty good about getting waters refilled, splitting the checks, and making sure we had our questions answered. She also verbally told us about auto-grat, AND starred it *AND* highlighted to make sure we didn’t overlook and double-tip.
