hmmm… where do I begin? The good: it was a fun day with my friends. We got dressed up, we got wet, we enjoyed the day. The bad: it was kind of a disappointment. Wipeout Run is basically a bunch of bouncy castles for adults. The course LOOKS great. Its spread out, most of the obstacles are huge and people are really into it. There are plenty of tents and signs and what not, but once you’re on the actual course, its just super meh. Like a few other reviewers were saying, there were some obstacles that were just complete throw aways. A wall that you had to climb over that wasn’t even painted. A rope swing that swung over a 3 foot gap that you could LITERALLY step over. The big balls were the disappointment of the day. They weren’t even big. They were in a little hallway type pen and they COMPLETELY deflated when you stepped on them. After the race, there was NOTHING to do. We all just changed and went to eat. For the money we spent, I expected it to be a little bit more like the show, in that there would be actual obstacles that you needed to navigate, or you’d fall in a pool. Not a couple of McDonalds Funland-esque bouncy castles and 2 tablespoons of foam. I’ve done it, but I wouldn’t pay to do it again.

We had a great time with the Wipeout 5k Wilmington run! The event was pretty well run. Parking was a breeze and we weren’t too far from the event. Check-in and bag check were just as simple with minimum lines. We were the first wave of the day and did not encounter lines at the obstacles. There was a little confusion about which way to run in the beginning, but they fixed it pretty quickly. This was definitely not a true 5k run, but after falling in the water and being soaking wet for most of the run, I’m not complaining:) You don’t have to run the race if you don’t want and a lot of people walked. There were people of all ages and sizes at the event. Don’t be afraid to try it and if you find an obstacle you are concerned about, you can pass it. Now for the fun part! They had the sweeper, the balls, slides, wall, rope swing, and lots of water! It was a great time! There was lots of foam at our run despite what I read on other reviews. There is almost no chance of you getting hurt on the obstacles. This is definitely a family friendly event and you should give it a try! Don’t think you have to be able to run to attend this event!!! Just dress in the craziest clothes you have and know that you will get wet!!!

I enjoyed this race my friends and family. It’s pretty cool to experience a TV show in race form. I’d definitely do that race again. I do not believe it is a true 5k as we used a GPS watch and we clocked it at 2.2. Fun Times Though!

So I finally got home from an eventful day. Thanks to my friend who bought the Groupon for this event. It was definitely worth it. We arrived for Wave 2 at 1:30pm. We were slightly late and we had to wait on the line for check-in. The line moved pretty fast and we got our stuff. The bag check was great, wish I knew a bit earlier so I didn’t have to leave my phone at our car. We had to wait at the start line with everyone else after the bag check-in. They cut down the big groups so they didn’t have too many people on each obstacle. They also had a water station there. It was warm water though so it wasn’t really that great in my opinion since the sun was starting to bear on us. And can we turn down the music? My friends and I were losing our minds cause the music was loud as heck from where we were standing. Also, no one really cared for the 5k. We walked like 60% of it. Anyways, we left for the first obstacle which was Sky’s the Limit. Obstacle 1: Sky’s The Limit — It was more like a running bouncy house which was sort of fun. I scrapped a little of my arm when I landed awkwardly but it was fun experiencing it. Obstacle 2: Wrecking Balls — I totally got wrecked here by the first ball. I just dropped straight into the warm waters. I saw people succeed and some fail. Lucky two of my friends made it all dry… but 3 of us fell into water. Obstacle 3: The Drop — Climb up, slide down. Not much to say here, it was okay. It brings back some childhood memories. Obstacle 4: Sweeper — Really, I hated this one because the sweeper was going at a really fast speed. If you really did try to run pass it and get knocked by one of those sweepers, it would be one of the most epic wipeouts ever. Unfortunately for us, we were too wimpy for that, and just ran as much as we can and crawled the rest. Obstacle 5: Smash Wall — This one was under the highway which was a strange location but I guess it’s fine cause it was the ugliest one… not really too appealing. I do applaud everyone for cheering and clapping each other!!! Everyone was really supportive of each other when a lot of people tried the 3rd or 4th wall which were the tallest ones and no one wanted to try the 1st or 2nd wall(easy and medium.) There was a larger lady who tried to get over the third wall but she was struggling but everyone egged her on and she made it over eventually. Everyone just erupted in cheer and she said thank you to everyone. Never give up guys! All of us made it! Obstacle 6: Big Balls — I really liked this one cause people wipe out the most here. I made it on to the first ball but I failed on my next jump on the next ball. If I had another shot, I think I would make it onto the 3rd ball. One of my friends got all onto all 4 balls and the platform too. Too good! Obstacle 7: Foam of Fury — This one was somewhat fun… I wish there was more foam though. If you didn’t make an attempt while running, you would not slide all the way and get stopped. I made it like ¾ of the way. If there was more foam, it would be much better. Obstacle 8: Tumble Tubes: Probably my 2nd most favorite obstacle. It was fun sliding down the tube and you were going in a fast enough pace that you might think you can go into the other lane by accident. We all wish we had another shot at this. Obstacle 9: Bubble Bash Swing — This one I hated the most! It was pretty pointless to swing on a rope, could of exchanged this with the monkey bars or another obstacle. I think people felt cheated with this one zzz. Obstacle 10: Happy Endings — This is the best one IMO. You were all the way at the top and if you ran before you slide down, you would go pretty fast. Too bad the water didn’t seem clean or anything but you go in a fast enough speed that it was fun. Tldr; So from most favorite to least: — Happy Endings — Tumble Tubes — Foam of Fury — Big Balls — The Drop — Smash Wall — Wrecking Balls — Sky’s the Limit — Sweeper — Bubble Bash Swing(what bubbles?!) 4⁄5 — Please no more warm water in a cup and no more dirty water at the obstacles. Please have more foam!(We thought they might have used most of it in the 1st wave.) I would do this again but maybe not travel all the way to Wilmington, DE. When it comes to NY, we’ll probably try this again!

I live in Philadelphia. The race is in Delaware. I sent my sister to pick up my racing pack(she lives in Delaware), they wouldnt allow her to pick it up for me. She even had a copy of my ID. They refused her, so now my only option is to pick it up the day of the race for $ 5.00! There is no number to contact for questions or complaints, you must«submit a request» and they’ll get back to you within 24 – 48 hours. I participated in this race last year and did not deal with this much hassle. This is complete BS and I will not return to do this race again!
