Pine Valley Market is by far my favorite place in Wilmington to buy fresh meat. Their selection and knowledge of all of the various fresh meats they carry is really the best. They are always willing to giving advice on how to prepare things and their filet are the absolute best! I’ve never had the chance to eat a meal at Pine Valley but I’ve always wanted to. I have had their catering before which was incredible. Highly recommend!

Fantastic food and service. I got the crab melt, it was loaded with crab meat. This is a nice place to grab a quick good lunch at! I’ll be back soon.

Pine Valley Market has grown up from a primarily catering first/take out second establishment. I would go and pick up a twice baked horseradish potato for emergency sustenance when I was busy doing DIY projects. Well I noticed that in the last few years, PVM quietly had some«work» done. Like a Wilmywood Starlet. A nip here…(change of seating and increased floor plan) A tuck there…(happy beachy paint colors) And a dedicated menu to carry you past the comfort food you can take out after dining. Now PVM is a solid dependable place to go for a quick bite or a treat.(They have cookies and cakes people!) I am a breakfast fiend so, I took my friend just the other day. and yes, was surprised yet again by some even more awesomeness. Real Homemade Southern Biscuits. Now that might seem like a no brainer, but some folks seem to have lost the art. We won’t go there… let me just pause and celebrate… whoo ha! Eggs were scrambled just the way each of us liked… me hard, my friend soft. Plenty of crispy bacon. And that Biscuit and compote on the table. Like a bottle of celebratory champagne. Light, airy and gone too soon. Pine Valley Market has got it goin’ on.

Got everyone I’m a believer in second chances so I gave pine valley that chance yesterday on my lunch break and behold much better very happy with the service and my food I had a club sandwich the way they make it on some kind of honey bread so good and I will be doing catering from the during football season with little sandwich and with that honey bread yum

We had Sunday brunch and the sausage gravy was as good as mine and mine is a 10. My daughter had bacon pancakes that she couldn’t finish so I had those for dessert. They were the best pancakes I have ever eaten! Laura was super nice and efficient and I think her son cooked the pancakes. As I told her the overall eating experience was an eleven out of a possible ten. I see many added pounds in my future but well worth it! Ed Hill Wilmington

We are regulars at this place. Never disappoints. We buy our thanksgiving turkey, steaks, any other special cuts. We also eat breakfast on the occasional Sunday as well as lunch. The food is always top notch. The new chef specials(today was fried chicken Benedict or pecan bourbon french toast) are always interesting and good. Mom loves the French Toast! I devoured the fried chicken Benedict!

The crew at Pine Valley Market never disappoints! Today we had the Oatmeal Pancakes and the Cheesesteak Omelet. Both were amazing! Very full of flavor and obviously made with the best ingredients!

Read about this place off Unilocal and decided to try one of the pre-made meals today. After waiting 90 minutes for the eggplant parm to cook in the oven(60 min if already thawed), I dug into it and ended up almost eating the whole tray since it was so good! The trays range from serving sizes of 2 – 6 and the prices are very reasonable. They also offer sandwiches and I’ll have to come back again to try them. The woman working there was very friendly.

This is a darling little market and café and for its size it produces some really special eats, innovative twists on old classic sandwiches, and the market, while smallish, has some items that are difficult to find elsewhere, such as four-packs of duck breast, bison, and other goodies. The atmosphere is homey as can be, the seating a mix of chairs and comfortable sofas, you can watch the chefs cook, shop around, have coffee, a meal, and enjoy some fun time here. PVM also carries Carolina Gold Rice and Charleston Gold Rice, reason enough for me to visit! Another reason I liked it was because of the staff, all friendly, but not the fake«McDonald’s» smiles; these folks are truly enjoying what they do and it shows. Nice touches on the decorating, too. I would also suggest for those who don’t want to cook on any given night to try their frozen, trayed entrees, some fresh beef, chicken, duck, whatever they have on display, all of which I saw when I was there is big time fresh. Duck breasts were available in package of four, frozen, for a ridiculously low price; always a bonus! I would recommend to all my Foodie friends without reservation.

It’s a great place for a quick lunch or dinner. I tried the BBQ chicken breast sandwich today. It’s seriously one of the best I’ve ever had. Besides the wonderful food, the staff and ambience are also outstanding.

Having driven past this tiny place 2x a day for years, i finally decided to stop in. The sandwiches were fantastic(had the italian and hubby had the BLT… italian was better). Many sides to chose from — salads, orzo, potato salad, pasta salad. All fresh and tasty. Will definately stop in many more times.

After posting a previous review that I was unhappy with the fact that they were closed for catering, I received a message from one of the owners of Pine Valley. Long story short I can appreciate their predicament of trying to make it as a small business on a big business world. I love good customer service so I will be going back again soon to try the food.

Today was the second time I visited this cute market, and the first time I bought anything. Both times the staff was very friendly without the fake«I-have-to-smile-cause-I-work-here» kind of friendly. Consistently nice staff encourages me to come back. I bought three frozen prepared meals, eggplant parmesan, gumbo, and chicken enchiladas. Tonight I had the eggplant parm and it definitely exceeded my expectations. After reading the reviews here, I thought«How great could a frozen meal really be?» But after cooking it at home, it tasted really fresh and nicely prepared. And not too salty, which is a major reason why I avoid buying frozen meals at the grocery store. The prices ranged from $ 9-$ 12 for frozen meals, definitely worth the money. Just a tip, if you take it home straight from the market, it may take longer in the oven than indicated. The instructions said 350 degrees for 60 – 90 minutes, but it actually took about 2 hours. I imagine this is because the freezer there is colder than the average freezer. It had no time to thaw out much from the market to home to the oven. I cooked it with aluminum foil on top for 90 minutes, then took the foil off and cooked for a further 20 minutes. Next time I’m feeling lazy with dinner I will definitely be back!

Just picked up some lamb shanks, and ordered some boar sausage, extremely helpful staff. When I go to pick up the boar sausage, I plan to browse their wine selection, it looked pretty good.

A true gem. We picked up a rib roast for the holidays. The meat was fresh, cut to order and their cooking advice, right on the money. Their selection of deli items and gourmet goodies was wonderful. Go and you will not be dissappointed!

They use local suppliers, which is a plus for the community. Their sandwiches are awesome as well as their fresh made salads. A great place to pick up pre– made meals for the family.

I’ve only been to PVM once, but the vibes(and food) I got were so good that it’s worth a 5. You can just tell when walking in the place that PVM is a local favorite. Not only has it one pretty much every«best of» Wilmington award for consecutive years, but they have a strong loyal client base(many of whom the employees were greeting by name), and seem to really do anything on behalf of the customer(customize orders, cater, etc). I had a shrimp BLT sandwich, which was a bit on the heavy side, but I’m a light eater. My daughter had the regular BLT, which was delicious, and my husband had a panini. They also have prepared dinners and salads that you can take home to supplement your own cooking, and a terrific selection of local wines and food products(grits anyone?), as well as a great butcher shop. Why the four stars? The seated area isn’t fancy or huge, so I recommend this as a takeout place or to pick up items to prepare for a picnic on the beach. Eat in atmosphere isn’t so great.

There is so much to say about Pine Valley Market I don’t know where to begin. They offer off-site catering, frozen, pre-made dinners, a deli case, various soups throughout the day and a full service menu too. Add to all that a great wine selection and you’ve got the perfect place to pick up dinner for a friend who is sick or just had a baby, dinner for yourself, and a nice bottle of wine too. The staff are extremely personable and friendly and treat their customers like family. A real gem to the area!
