My husband and I made a reservation here for dinner on a Saturday night after I had a nice dinner here with my parents a few weeks earlier. When we arrived, the hostess was unable to locate our reservation and indicated that it was possible that the man who took the reservation did not write it down. Instead of acknowledging that the reservation was lost, the hostess proceeded to seat us at a table in a hallway by the bathroom and behind the bus boy table. We were not in a dining room and there were no other tables around us– it was clear that a table is not typically there. I was shocked that they would seat us there, let alone not ask us if that was ok considering they had lost our reservation that I had made days earlier. My husband asked the hostess if it was ok if we moved to the bar area so we would not have to watch everyone go in and out of the bathroom(and we could be around other diners as opposed to in a hallway by the bathroom) and she said it was fine but when we went to sit down, the bartender told us the rest of the bar stools were reserved and we could not sit there. At that point we were so frustrated that we left and had a far better experience at Ristorante Piacenza at the Saw Mill Inn. Very disappointing service and we will not be dining here again. Based on my review of previous reviews, which I should have looked at before making this reservation, it appears that losing reservations is a reoccurring issue at this restaurant.

We had a very enjoyable evening here on a Thursday night, party of four. Started out with a cocktail in the very nicely appointed(and warm!) bar. The barkeep was attentive, very friendly and competent; we had Negronis, a Manhattan and glass of Amarone. Reasonable pricing on the drinks. Really great wine list! Started off with an unexpected and tasty amuse bouche of bruschetta. Appetizers were great(calamari siciliano and really nice, plump mussels). Menu had nice variety; we had the veal chop, zuppa de pesce, cavatelli w/rabe and sausage and pappardelle arogosta. All entrees were excellent. Ended with affogato, tartuffo, espresso and grappa. Really, really nice Italian restaurant. Extremely pleasant, competent and friendly wait staff. Prices very fair. Will be returning! Sent from my iPad

Three in our party, ordered meet ball salad, antipasto and beet pear salad to start. All excellent. All three dinners were awesome. We have not had the resturant here like this since the Le Petite Chef and those of you that remember, Betty Hillman was the best. We all recommend this restaurant.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Great owners. We had a wonderful Saturday night Italian dinner at this gem of an establishment. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers, meals and desert. Cozy and comfortable seating coupled with superior service. I highly recommend.

Went here last night for dinner & was not impressed. We had called ahead in the afternoon to make an 8pm reservation. When we arrived at 8pm, the hostess informed us that the guy we spoke to earlier in the phone must have forgotten to write down our reservation & that there wasn’t anything listed. She said it’s happened before too(then why does he work there still?). Needless to say, we were sat at a high top table at the bar at 8:20pm, nearly a half hour after our reservation time. The bar room was uncomfortable hot and stuffy and very loud. We had to yell to hear each other across the table. When we went to order food, my date asked the waiter for an opinion on 2 dishes(chicken parm & the cavatelli pasta). The waiter replied«neither».(If your servers don’t like the food or care to recommend it, that’s not a good sign!) our food didn’t arrive until 9pm, a full hour after our reservation time, and the food was average at best. It was definitely overpriced though. I would probably recommend going somewhere else. We definitely were not impressed. Also, the table next to us were complaining to their waiter that they waited 2hrs for their food & then were served the wrong things.

Long Island Italian writing. I’d put this place up against the best Italian restaurants on the island and the 5 Boroughs. Perfectly-delicious Tuscan style food. The Zuppa De Pesce was light, fresh and cooked to perfection. Great wine list and beer selection. Service impeccable. Flying solo? Sit at the bar and talk up Aude. He’s courteous, friendly and a damn good bartender. There is a lot of competition in Wilmington. This place is only 6 months old and has already reached the top.

The second time here was not as stellar as my first but still the place is very good for Vermont. I had the linguini with white clam sauce which was bland and underseasoned in my opinion. I’m sure if I mentioned something they would have fixed the issue but I didn’t want to make a big scene about it since everyone else was enjoying their meal.

I’ve been coming to Mt Snow for 37 years and we’ve never had a solid Italian restaurant. Our prayers have been answered. Now who I pray to about the snow we need this season? Also there is a super tall busy boy who is extremely nice and helpful(sorry I don’t remember your name buddy). We’ve been there 3 times so far so can attest to the consistency. Keep up the great work guys!

Great addition to local restaurant scene which had been going in wrong direction for years. Everything from lemon martini, appetizer and main dish delicious! I had appetizer which was stuffed and baked arugula. Creative and delicious. My wife had sea bass after beet salad, while I decided to do traditional with chicken parm. Only regret was we were too full for desserts which looked great.

LOVED this restaurant! Great ambiance and décor. Delicious italian food! Hard to find in Vermont! Personable, attentive waiters. The menu had many options to choose from. I loved the eggplant rollatini. Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Hands down my favorite restaurant in Vermont! The service was excellent and our waiter knowledge of the wines, drinks and menu was outstanding! Our party of four each tried a different entrée and we were all impressed! Appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts were delicious!

The layout of the restaurant is beautiful, there’s a fireplace in every dining room. We sat in the bar dining room. For appetizer we had bruschetta and fried calamari. Both were delicious. For dinner we had parpadelle pasta with a pink cream sauce and lobster meat as well as veal saltimbocca and everything was delicious. For dessert we had crème brûlée and the dream Bomba. Our server Aude was great as well.

THE darling of Wilmington VT. Fresh and thoughtfully prepared menu, at your beck and call service and ambience that is to die for. If you leave here hungry its your fault. Truly the Italian restaurant this town deserves. Thanks Bruno

I’ve been coming to Wilmington/Dover for many years. It was always very hard to get a good meal up here… my standards are high. I’m thrilled Mangia e Beve is here. Great food, made with care. These guys are passionate for what they are doing. The staff is fantastic. Ultra friendly and knowledgeable. Bonus: they aren’t the local folk who hate us NYers!

Terrible service. When we got there the waiter brought us upstairs then disappeared. Found out that even though we had a reservation they gave our table away. We waited and waited for our server to just bring water and soda. Then while we were waiting for her to take our order the table next to us looked frustrated. I told them they gave our table away and had to sit in the bar and somehow they did the same thing to them. My friend asked for carrot cake to surprise me for my birthday and the waitress totally forgot. After we paid our bill she brought our cake which was chocolate, not carrot. The other server kept saying they will make it up to us and make this better. Nope-instead they charged us for an extra soda. Nothing taken off our tab and a long 2.5 hour dinner. Won’t ever go again!

Where to begin? 15 minute wait for menus or the additional 15 minutes to receive two glasses of wine after we ordered. Or how about the nearly hour-and-half to receive our entrees, which we ultimately took home to eat since we were pushing the envelope of our kids hunger and patience … So when we got home(a mere 15 minute drive away) we discovered the most unremarkable meal imaginable. Bland pasta, bland sauce, bland meatballs … Nothing I could not have simply bought at a mediocre diner. I get it, tourist town with only one Italian restaurant downtown … But new and unique does not equal good. This place is sad. Oh, did I mention the waitress, after our complaint, did not speak with the manager and made no effort to provide any form of service or gratuity to make amends? No? Well when we spoke with the manager/owner he said he would comp the meal … Then refunded ½ the price to our credit card … Again, this place should be driven out of business or forced to up their game across the board.

Finally! Quality, authentic, fresh Italian Food in Southern Vermont! Can’t say enough about this place. From the fresh crusty baked on site bread, to the perfectly al dente homemade pasta, to the rival your grandmother’s moist meatballs, to the humongous portions… this place it the real deal. Get in before word gets out and the long lines form!
