I visited Flames Stables in Wilmington, Vermont, this past weekend with the family and a friend and we had a great time. The kids just loved it. It was a short tour of about 45 minutes through some private woods. The horses were beautiful and seemed to have been in good health and well cared for — a bit hungry though as they wanted to stop and graze at every opportunity. We found the price to be reasonable and the kids wanted to do it again.

Had a wonderful time with the family. The ride was almost an hour. People had mention that it was expensive but I find it price very reasonable. Worth every dollar. $ 25 for a single person on a horse and $ 35 for a double on the horse. Great experience and can’t wait to do it in the winter.

Went there to take my son for a pony ride. We got there, saw signs that said«pony rides» but when we asked, they said no pony rides… Why you might ask? Because the pony died! So, no more pony rides. The people were very nice and if they get a new pony I’d def go back!

Been riding here for years. as Jack said it is(was) $ 20, but you ride for 40 – 45 min, not 15 as he stated… He says $ 20. Is steep??? Ridiculous, obviously he doesn’t ride elsewhere, where it is usually up to $ 50. Always had a nice scenic ride, did run the horses &2 Owners always extremely nice… Always look forward to stopping there.

We had a great ride. The owners are very nice. They take good care of the horses. They prep horses for you. You go on a nice ride through the woods and field. Horses are well behaved and easily follow each other. Great for kids. They all kids under 6 to ride doubles with parent. Over 6 can ride alone. Nice thing to do in VT. They ride year round. I would recommend it!

If you are in the area, and you feel like riding a horse, you can do no worse than go here. Up on a hill as you approach it from Rt 100, is a big green barn. That’s Flames Stables, a family owned stable of about a dozen horses. Show up anytime, and for like $ 20, which is kind of a ripoff, you too can ride a horse through the woods for about 15 minutes. They set you, or you and your group, up on a horse appropriate for your weight. They lead all of you in a line with one of the owners in front. The horses know what to do since they do this all day. You meander through the woods on a well-worn path. At one point they have the horses gallop which is kinda cool. I just think the price is a bit steep. But, it’s kinda fun. Get some Vermont flavor to your trip.
