We were visiting a nearby artisan when hunger pangs struck so we ducked in to check it out. This attractive little brick building with a classy interior had very friendly staff, quick service, and good food. I had the Postman hot dog and my wife tried the bbq brisket which I tasted. Super delicious. The prices were reasonable. I would swing out of my way to grab a dog next time we’re kicking around Wilmington.

At first I was declared I wasn’t going to eat here mainly because of the hours. I love hotdogs how am I supposed to enjoy them if they are closed at 4?!? But my husband said hey give them a try, and now here we are. I am basic hotdog girl, mustard, chili, and slaw. Depending on how I feel I may add onions and ketchup, which is exactly what i did here. My usual hotdog spot is Louies downtown, well now Louies maybe become my after 4 spot. Charlie Graingers is serving up tender beef hotdogs and steamed buns with fresh ingredients. They have a variety of items you can add to each dog. Too many to name and each with a Wilmington themed tag. Long story short come see for yourself those dogs are good!

Just got the brisket sandwich and a hot dog here and both were awesome. The brisket sandwich was loaded up with meat too which was a plus. I was in and out in a few minutes and the staff was super friendly. I’ll definitely go back soon.

Great hot dogs! Got a Number 9, with BBQ baked beans and onions and it was Fantastic! I will definitely be back again!

Nice atmosphere, but a hot dog specialist that boils their dogs, despite all the fixings, the center of the plate tastes like they pulled a cold generic dog out of the pack and slid it straight into the bun.

The first time I came by this business they were closed. They are only open for lunch but for some strange reason the neon signs including one that says open, stays on ²⁴⁄₇.
Last Wednesday I decided to swing by here during my lunch break and grab a hotdog. I arrived during peak time and it was almost impossible to find a parking spot. In hindsight I don’t think I parked in actual designated spot. Anyway I went inside to find a small restaurant with and order line and kitchen to the right and a long sit down counter with stools on the left. The line was long but the people in front of me were still debating what to order so I was urged to skip ahead.
I ordered one hog dog with chili and fried onions, the other with brisket and bbq sauce. Both were good but I really really enjoyed the one with chili and friend onions. I also ordered a side of watermelon, which was juicy and refreshing.
Although small, this is great place to grab a quick lunch. I was in and out in less than five minutes and the customer service was quick and efficient.

I have driven by this place multiple times. When I decided to go I was pleasantly surprised. Charlie Grainger was very straight forward. I liked the the menu set up and lay out. Very much a neighborhood eatery feel. I tried their pink lemonade and was not let down. My wife had the brisket sandwich and I had a hot dog. The brisket was served in a generous portion top with cole slaw. We will be going back for lunches.

Oh my gosh. I have never had such delicious beef brisket in my life, and i’m not exaggerating. Their beef brisket sandwich comes on a hot dog bun, and it overstuffed with beef brisket, topped with some coleslaw, and a piece of sweet pickle and okra. I wish I was hungry enough to eat a whole one by myself but we were stuffed from eating the whole day since we’re on vacation. Such a gem of a place. Very great customer service as well! can’t wait to go back when i’m back in town!

Cute little atmosphere and very clean. Food was perfect for lunch. I had the brisket and really enjoyed it, tasted amazing. I really liked the chicken salad sandwich, it was too chunky for my mom. It is a little pricey but they do have some good combo specials.

I know this is a hot dog place but, I had their chicken salad yesterday and some of their homemade pink lemonaide. It was delicious so I bought a pint of it to take to a derby party to spread on crackers. Let me just say it was a big hit! I give this place two thumbs up! I will be back for more.

Charlie Graingers has wonderful, unique lunch options. Plus they have amazing and friendly staff! Definitely a must visit when in Downtown Wilmington :)

Great place to eat! The atmosphere is awesome inside. Food doesn’t disappoint either. From hot dogs to BBQ, it’s all delicious. Great staff with smiling faces as well. Stop by and check them out!

Simply the best place in town for lunch. They’ve got a great variety of hot dogs and their brisket sandwich is amazing. The place itself is unique in its own way with Lanterns hung from the ceiling to a whistle that blows just to keep patrons on their feet. All in all great overall experience.

Hot dog toppings are fabulous, the actual hot dogs are run of the mill. Great prices! Looking forward to trying the brisket next time.

Great lunch spot… have not tried the hotdogs yet but they do make them in a bunch of different styles… I always order the beef brisket… always delicious served on bread that compliments the brisket nicely with cole slaw and their homemade BBQ sauce on top… and you can even get the brisket by the pound to take home for later!

Great place to eat. Their brisket is wonderful. I really like the spicy slaw. It has a hint of ginger. Don’t miss their soup of the day. Always good.

I’ve eaten here twice and both times were really good. The first time I had hot dogs, which they have around 10 or so topping combination options and the second time I went for their brisket sandwich. The staff was really friendly both visits. If you want a quick and delicious lunch Peacock Alley is a good option.
