Boscov’s Department Store

Love Boscovs but I frequent it mostly for home goods… They have great deals on curtains and I just love how that section is set up… Just got nice curtains for my living room along with the rods for about $ 120 (6 of the 84″ panels and 2 of the 63″). I LOVE them — Boscov’s will definitely always be my go-​to place for curtains.
I have also found myself over the years heading to Boscov’s for small appliances, towels, junior prom dresses, etc. I recently noticed a bunch of cute clothes so I may have to stop back back to check out their spring stuff soon.
And yes, their candy counter is especially appealing and darnit, I am GOING to stop and buy me some chocolate next time!!!

Before my outing last week, my only knowledge of Boscov’s was that it is the only store my grandmother will shop at, and that she loves their elastic waist pants with matching printing shirts. Needless to say, I didn’t have the best opinion of Boscov’s. However, after failing at Macy’s in the Concord Mall, my mom mentioned that she had seen a lot of plus-​size clothing at Boscov’s when shopping with my grandmother. We decided to give it a try.
Their plus-​size selection is HUGE. They even carry brands like Jones New York and Calvin Klein. I walked out with an insane amount of clothes for incredibly cheap– skinny jeans, sweaters, shirts, and skirts. Shopping in the store is a little bit like shifting through a nice thrift store– you have to work hard to find decent things, but when you do, they’re awesome. Also, everything is marked down considerably (seriously, every single stand in the store has a «sale» sign on top), which means that you can buy twice as much :-).
After we finished canvasing the plus-​size section, we asked the sales lady where the dresses were. She told us that they were in the dresses/​suits section. No other store mixes plus-​size clothes with other clothes throughout the rest of the store, so we were surprised. While we were checking out, someone else came up and asked the same question. It would be nice if they were had some signs up like «More plus-​size clothes available in the following sections of the store», just because it’s so unusual for a department store.
This would have been 5 stars, but the store was incredibly hot and humid. The fitting rooms were even worse– we both were sweating profusely after trying on piles of clothes. Other people in the store were obviously hot as well. This would definitely deter me from coming here casually to browse. Fix the AC please!
