I’ve been coming to my family’s home in Wilmington every single summer of my life(and unfortunately a couple of winters when my grandparents passed away.) My family never misses the 1836 Country Store, which is really a wonder since the man who owns it is so miserable(and has been for as long as I can remember.) I get why he would hassle me and my cousins when we were teenagers, probably worried we were delinquents or something. But 10 years later, to tell grown adults not to be on their phones in his store? Come on! Say goodbye to every customer for the rest of your life, dude… That is not a battle you’ll win. Two stars because it’s the only store in downtown Wilmington with cutesy, touristy, souvenirs.

Cute store. Filled to the brim with cute and interesting items. Was able to sample the cheese before buying it. They have all sorts of items — cheese, syrup, jams, cookie cutters, Maybe the lady in the store was having a bad day but she was so unpleasant. Was curt, not very helpful. If you are in the area, stop by because the store is filled with great items.

This is the best place in Wilmington to buy souvenirs, maple syrup, and other Vermont goodies. The man who rung us up was friendly and knowledgeable about the syrup. We purchased a syrup sampler, some fudge, and postcards. The fancy syrup is my favorite so far. This store has been around since 1836. You should definitely check it out if you’re in Wilmington!

Bought maple syrup and jam for the BF’s parents here. Who knows if they’ll like it– at least I can say that the store itself was cute. More cookie cutters than I ever knew existed can be found here. Want a flag-shaped cookie cutter? This is the place to go. Fudge and cheese? Aqui. Maple syrup and local jam? Right here.

No trip to Wilmington is complete without a peek through this store. It’s full to the brim with all sorts of country store stuff, so watch where you step and be mindful if you bring little ones. This store probably has every shape of cookie cutter ever invented, which always amazes me. I could get an eagle or a sail boat or even a boring star shape if I wanted. Fudge of all types, calendars, postcards, maple sugar candies, syrups, shirts, collectibles, you name it, they have it here.
