A vendor got catering from here for my office one afternoon. Pretty impressive! Everything was neaty placed on the trays, they gave serving utensils, and plenty of food! Overall, pretty impressed. It was basically DIY sandwich station. They have 4 different varieties of bread, they seperated the different spreads, had a tray of different cheeses, tray for just lettuce and tomatoes, and then 2 trays of meat. It was ham, turkey, and roast beer. It was really good. I don’t like ham because sometimes it’s too salty but this location did it right. The cookie tray was a big hit too. Delicious! And very filling!

So I used to be a turkey guy– and before that a pastrami enthusiast. I’ve retired both the last couple of years in favor of the noble, delicate, and often cliched– ham. Honey Baked Ham has some seriously professional ham. This isn’t gross Acme preservative laced ham. It’s ham as it ought to be– thick sliced, sweet, smokey and just brimming with porky and earthy down south(like Virginia south) flavor. I’ve had three of their sandwiches thus far and none of them have disappointed– not one bit. Even when little bits of ham fall off the precipice that is my sandwich– those bite size, cute little morsels of heavenly pig satisfy enough. Seriously speaking though– if you like quality ham and you like even more so– quality sandwiches then HBH may be your next quick lunch destination. Be weary though ham lovers– This Sus domesticus may turn into a very dangerous drug– like Porcine crack You’ve been warned.

Went over to the Jared next door to get our rings cleaned and decided to see what this place is all about. Reminded me of an Omaha Steaks store. Most of the store is committed to frozen hams, other pork products, side dishes, and dipping sauces. The part that surprised me was that they actually offer lunch here. The menu mostly consisted of sandwiches, but they sounded pretty tasty. We had just eaten so we checked out the frozen items. The ham options sounded really good, but we would have had to commit to at least a 30 dollar purchase. Plus we didn’t have the freezer space for that anyway. Ended up going with the thick sliced bacon. Yet to try it, but it sure does look good. Definitely would stop in next time I’m in the need for a ham or even a quick sandwich.

I first had this ham while visiting my sister-In-law in D.C. I could not have been more surprised at how good it was! One of the best hams I have ever had. I found two locations here, Willow Grove and Norristown. They have been in business for fifty years, so consumers must agree. They also have cafes at some locations You can also order on line or arrange for catering. They sell smoked turkeys, desserts and sides, like macaroni & cheese. It is one of the best ham’s I have ever had.
