Ordered the Shaved Almond and Berry Salad. Every part of it was very fresh from the lettuce to the fruit on it. There was not an over abundance of goat cheese, which is sometimes an issue at some places. My business partner ordered fish and chips and loved it as well. Very large piece of Haddock and nice side of cole slaw. They have a ton of seating. There is a spacious front patio, lots of indoor seating and a large patio in the back right along a stream.

Extra points go out for a gorgeous bar and outdoor patio. Drinks are average price for the village of Williamsville(re:pricey for those that aren’t used to it) We only got apps this time around, nachos are superb, kudos on the homemade chips! Mainly come for patio happy hour but have had the grilled veggie wrap for lunch and it is amazing!(man I love goat cheese!)

Good Food, Somewhat-Authentic Irish Pub. I’ve been here several times and always enjoyed the food. As far as Irish pubs go, Irishman tries but doesn’t capture the authentic look and feel. The service tends to be alright, not usually overly friendly whenever I’ve been there, but not rude or terribly slow either. I like going here once in awhile for some comfort pub food, maybe sit out on the patio if it’s warm out. Parking situation is absolutely terrible though, not sure if there’s much they can do but they should look into paying someone nearby to let them use 10 spaces or so.

The BEST fish n chips and fried pickles I’ve ever had. Just got off a plane and wanted something I couldn’t get back home, and found this spot in adorable Williamsville. Bartender was super nice and attentive(and it was his 2nd day). Had a local brew, and ate that entire giant plate of fried fish. SO yum.

Irishman is a nice place to grab a drink, especially in the summer on the outdoor patio. As far as the food goes, it’s OK, but there are so many great places in this area to eat, it wouldn’t be my number 1 pick after my recent experience. I ordered the Irish onion soup and the berry almond salad. The cheese on top of the soup was completely burnt, which pretty much ruins it. The salad was pretty good though. I liked the raspberry vinaigrette and it had a decent amount of berries.

The Irishman is a grand fixture on Main Street in the Village of Williamsville and in its NINTH year. It’s an a-okay place to have a brew, meet friends, or have a decent dinner for two. The atmosphere is lovely old-Irish publike: lots of boisterous energy and wood flooring, with up-to-date food and drink. We had wonderful service on a recent Friday night from an especially accommodating staff. The menu changed, no more appetizer pizza, my fave. Wah! But the French onion soup was better! I had broiled haddock and it was perfect, along with the snow peas and mashed potatoes. A local favorite(fish fry) only healthier(not fried) and updated for today’s palate. Our pals got the waffles and chicken and really liked ‘em. The outdoor patio is especially nice, although do follow the protocol for landing a table: head directly to the host station and put your name and request in, don’t just grab a seat! The Irishman Pub & Eatery has live music regularly. A great and local gem, stop in at the Irishman for a nice change.

First time visit to this restaurant. I did enjoy it’s authenticity and beer selection. I ordered the turkey burger and it did not come with everything that was supposed to be on there so I was a little bummed. To be fair, they were quite busy. Maybe some more staff would make me go back. Yummy fries! Don’t come hungry because you will wait a while!

The Irishman is good. Pretty basic pub food with a handful of Irish-influenced dishes. I don’t always have the greatest service. For example, last time I was there the waitress was a little short with us and didn’t pay attention to details. Just little things. But I consistently leave feeling like the service wasn’t so friendly. Even at the bar. I LOVE the outdoor patio in the summer. It can be hard to get a table out there sometimes but it’s just so popular! I do think they do the best they can to make tables available quickly. I do wish you could sit out there just to have a drink but they reserve the tables only for people eating. When it is so busy I understand, but when it is slow I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to sit out there. The food is not necessarily something to rave about but it’s good. I love the shaved almond & berry chicken salad — grilled chicken served over a bed of mixed field greens with tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh mixed berries, shaved almonds and goat cheese served with a side of homemade berry vinaigrette dressing. Main reasons I would suggest visiting the Irishman– hang out at the bar for some good beers or sit on the patio during the summer.

Possibly we just came on an off night. It wasn’t busy so I can’t blame the poor service on the waitress being overworked. Had to ask for our water glasses to be refilled, same with my coffee. Two of our foursome complained of their beef dishes being tough. Mine was the French fries served with my Reuben were basically cold. The service staff definitely needs to be trained. Nice atmosphere and good brews will make most happy. Update– received very nice contact from manager Maria and since she shows concern i will return and give the Irishman another chance.

The Irishman is a great spot to get tasty pub faire in Williamsville. We love Moor Pat, just down the street from the Irishman, and did a little hopping in between on a Sunday evening. The draught and bottle lists at the Irishman are above average. We were there on a Sunday evening and the place wasn’t exactly busy, but there were a few tables full and a couple other patrons at the bar. The bartender gave us great service and event let us try a couple newer beers. I splurged and had a fish fry and was not disappointed at all. It came with a huge piece of flaky white fried fish, french fries, and cole slaw. I highly recommend it. My date had«bangers and mash» that was decent but the cabbage(or was it sourcrout?) was a little funky. I definitely encourage you to stop into the Irishman if you’re in the area. I don’t know that I’d travel out of my way to come here since there is comparable food, drink, and ambiance elsewhere in WNY.

I was searching for an Affordable alternative for New Years Eve & I found it here at this delightful Pub. The Irishman is set back so I did drive past it, however they do have off street parking. The Pub itself is very comfortable they have tables & bar tables arranged around the Pub. The Bar wraps around the middle of the Pub, that is the main feature, additionally they have a Banquet Room that can accommodate up to 150 people. Needless to say New Years Eve they were sold out with over 200 reservations including mine. The Banquet Room was set up to accommodate the majority of the reservations & that night they had a DJ playing 80’s music for everyone to dance to as that was the Theme for the Event. I had reservations for 25 people & the Manager, Deandra, was very accommodating she actually went out of her way to make sure my group was happy. I didn’t get a chance to try the Menu, however one of my guests did & he was quite pleased. However, just before Midnight the Pub surprised all there guests with a table of various tid bits; Pizza made w the House home made dough, Deep Fried Mushrooms, Bavarian Pretzel’s on Stixs, Mozzarella Stixs just to name a few. The food was quite ddddelicious & it was a plus that it was free. The restaurant has a Cozy warm atmosphere that is frequented by many, especially at Happy Hour; additionally the Banquet Room is ideal for any type of party you may want to have as the layout can accommodate various size tables, dance floor & sound system. They, have a outside Patio that is the length of the Restaurant w a Heater for when it gets a little cold in the Fall. There were actually few outside that night using the Patio as a smoking area, All & all I would definitely go there again & this time I will definitely try the Menu as it is quite extensive & reasonably priced. If the food is as ddddddelicious as the food I had New Years Eve I will definitely enjoying this place in the future. The Bar is quite extensive as well accommodating quite an array of tastes. From a Pint of Beer to Starting in January on Saturday & Sundays till 3pm they have MAKEYOUROWNBLOODYMARYBAR… sounds yummy… They are open Sunday through Saturday 7 days a week check the website for Hours but most weekend they are open from 11am to Midnight. There Banquet Menu accommodates from Breakfast till Dinner or maybe even a Cocktail Bar. Just call & I would suggest you Call Deandra & she will definitely Accommodate you… w a Smile!!!

I’ve been to the Irishman 4 times now. Generally for lunch, when it’s much less lively & the service is more attentive, but also during the evening hours when there is live entertainment & a more bustling atmosphere. The food is more upscale pub fare with an Irish flair. I’m not a drinking man, so I cannot attest to the beverages, aside from saying that that menu does look reasonably extensive. Service is friendly, but not in a grating«please tip me» way & the food is always delivered quickly. They haven’t mucked up my order yet either & given that I tend to go with a party of at least 6& that includes some picky pains in the arse, that’s quite impressive. Give this place a shot if you’re in the area doing some holiday shopping.

I have wanted to check out the Irishman Pub & Eatery for a while, and have just not had the chance. I’ve always been a fan of comfort-style pub food and great beers. This place just seemed like a natural fit for me. I finally decided it was time check it out. It is located in the heart of Williamsville, a quaint and lively part of town that is what I imagine small-town America used to feel like. Local shops and restaurants line the streets, there is a waterfall in walking distance, and also historic sights. As you can imagine, parking in this area can be a bit of a challenge. I was lucky enough to find 2hr street parking just in front of the building, and was happy to see that they did have a small private lot as well. Entering the front of the building I noticed the patio area. Completed by metal tables and chairs, it looked like a fun place to grab a quick meal on a warm summer’s night. This night, however, was cold and I was thankful that the chill of winter’s reach was blocked by the warm interior décor. The«pub» décor has been wonderfully represented in the heart of downtown Williamsville. The walls are tastefully littered with signage and pictures. High-backed wooden booths and tables allow for a lot of indoor seating. The bar area looked clear and clean, and the tap and bottle selection were easily visible. We were seated almost instantly and quickly greeted by our server who took our drink order. After a few minutes of mulling over the menu, I decided to go with a burger. I ordered a burger medium-rare with bacon and cheese. I was happy to read that each burger comes with a side of hand-cut fries. As we waited for our food to arrive we chatted, and found the surroundings to be pleasant. There were no loud echos or disturbing annoyances. Everything was relaxing and our server continued to be attentive to our table. Food came out within 20 minutes and looked delicious. The hand-cut fries were some of the best I’ve had in a long time. The burger was served on a Ciabatta roll and topped with fresh lettuce, tomato slices, and onions. Going by looks, the food seemed great. However, if the cook thought that what was plated was medium-rare then that cook should really go take a few cooking lessons. The burger I was served was medium-well and extremely dry. As a result, it had little to no flavor and was unpleasant to consume. The restaurant was not very busy and so I felt like a little more attention could have been placed on cooking the meat correctly. Upon reading other reviews, it seems that this has been an ongoing problem for this restaurant for some time. If your customers continually complain that meats are not being cooked/served as ordered, then as the manager(owner, etc) it is your duty to correct this error. Hire different cooks, offer cooking classes, do something. This experience left me with a bad taste in mouth, and to be completely honest I’m not sure I would go back to try anything else. Overall the décor is really nice, service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were pretty good. Unfortunately, the food was not cooked very well. The saving grace was the fresh-cut fries. If I go back, maybe I’ll just get a beer and a side of fries. At least with that order I’ll get exactly what I am expecting.

While the Irishman is beautiful, and had an excellent patio & location especially after their renovation, their food leaves much to be desired. It is often bland, and not properly cooked. As well, the consistency depends on who is in their kitchen. You can expect a dish to be vastly different each time you visit. That being said, the bar is fantastic. Hence, the three stars. At this point, the only thing I feel I can count on is their Margarita pizza. That is usually consistent. However, the bar is great, and the environment is great. It has an old school Irish pub ambiance, and succeeds at that very much so. Come for the bar and ambiance, but truly, don’t expect anything but a mediocre mood. I’ve been here more that enough times over the years, and really, the quality has never changed. Enjoy :)

I came here with a group of 8 for a meeting, and we were seated in a room that was kind of separate from the dining room. It had a large round table for all of us to sit at, and it was well lit and easier to hear in there. We ordered the pretzels with cheese and blarney nachos as our appetizer, and they were delicious! I loved the nachos because it had the beer cheese on them, and they were not tortilla chips. They were homemade potato chips and they were delightful. I ordered the steak pizza and it was not great. The 4⁄5 stars is more for the appetizers. The crust on the pizza tasted like a toasted tortilla, and that is not sufficient for a pizza crust in my eyes. The steak was kind of overcooked, and the actual pizza was lacking in overall flavor. I would like to go back to try other menu items, as I have heard good things about everything else on the menu. However, I do not recommend the pizza!

It’s been years since I last visited the Irishman, and I was definitely impressed last night! Their new outdoor patio(I have been obsessed with these this summer!), is beautiful– it overlooks the creek and Island Park. Besides the new patio, as our hostess walked us out back, I noticed how much their dining area has expanded. On top of that, they added another bar on the back side of the original one(facing the patio), so my friends and I commented that this would be the perfect space for a happy hour! I had perused their menu earlier in the day, and the Teagan pizza had caught my eye, so I went with that–(from their menu description) it had garlic oil, fresh spinach, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella cheese and tomatoes, and a balsamic glaze… OMG I could not stop eating it! All I could think is «I need more of THIS»! The Irishman should definitely consider expanding their pizza menu, because YES. The service was great during our dinner– our waitress was personable, friendly and came back a number of times during our meal. I only held off on that last star, because my review was so specific, based on where I sat, and what I ate(I’d love to try some of their Irish fare next time). I will definitely be back!

I don’t LOVE this place. It’s okay for a work meeting or just to grab a soup or salad. The food isn’t anything to write home about. Our waitress was very friendly but seemed agitated that we weren’t ordering more food, which was kind of rude. But overall, yummy. I got the French onion soup and hot hard apple cider. Both were delicious. X’s and O’s! J

First time checking out this Irish gem! Our waiter, Joshua T, was fabulous delightful and sarcastic, a refreshing personality for a lunch date mid work week. I enjoyed the Dublin Dip for my first exploration of the food and was wonderfully surprised by how delicious it was! The roast«beast» is wonderfully prepared, with just the right amount of dipping au jus on the side. Fresh cut fries on the side certainly did not take away from this meal! I will be planning a return trip in the future for sure!

Very nice patio and the service was great, but don’t expect to get a burger cooked to order. I’m willing to give this place another chance; I ended up ordering a standard tomato, lettuce, onion burger and told the waitress that I’m keen on ordering it rare since it usually never comes out medium rare. She placed my order in… and lo’ and behold, the burger comes out well done! You would think they would place some extra attention when someone asks for a burger to be on the rarer side to make sure it doesn’t leave the kitchen all charred up with no pink at all in it! Nonetheless, the outside patio is still one of the nicest ones in the Williamsville area, but for a $ 10 burger — I certainly expected a bit better. I’ll try again one day, maybe when they aren’t so busy and hopefully update this review.

I think the overall rating of 3.5 is probably pretty accurate. I hit up the Irishman on the recommendation of my hotel — it was that our the fairly dismal Glen Park down the block. I liked the Irishman much better. The interior is nice in a faux-Irish bar kind of way. There are plenty of tables if you want to eat and two large bars for libations. It’s very clean too. Menu-wise, it’s fairly straightforward pub fare with an «irish twist»(that means you add the word«Guinness» to the description). Because I was in Buffalo I knew I needed to try one of the area’s specialties and I’m not a wing fan, so Beef on Weck it was. My server described their version as «decent» and it certainly was. The roast beef was actually really good — not fatty or gristly and plenty flavorful. I was less a fan of the super salty roll but I understand that’s the correct way to serve it. Their fries are really good — hand cut and well seasoned. Because it’s an «irish» bar I was both happy and surprised to see a decent wine list. My glass of Pinot Grigio was pretty decent and it was a VERY generous pour for $ 7.50. Two of those and I almost forgot about my hellish drive back from Toronto.
