If you want to go to a sterling optical don’t go to this one. I repeat, DONTGOTOTHISONE! The manager is so rude and unpleasant to be around. Never smiles. In fact the staff itself are very rude. They don’t know how to do their job let alone a simple transaction. Such a mess of a company

I have never been to this location nor will I be going back after i pickup up my glasses. These people are so unprofessional that I felt like I didn’t even belong there. When I was taken into the exam room the actual doctor looked disheveled and off, he didn’t even tell me his name! I tried to make small talk with him but he was short in response the entire 5 min of the exam. I proceed to go out into the area to choose a pair for myself and the one sales person in a very nice tone said he would be right with me. Well after he was done with whomever he was helping, he then looked at my file and realized that because I have medicaid that he was not going to get any commission off of my glasses so he didn’t even lift a finger to help me. My mom being an optometrist, I FaceTimed with her with my phone so should could help me instead. I WASDOINGTHISRIGHTINFRONTOFBOTHTHESALESASSOCIATES!!! all they were doing was watching YouTube videos together and laughing while I had to choose my own pair of glasses. I did finally pick out a pair, a very cute pair of I might add with no help but from my mother. I proceeded to the counter and said I would like this pair please. As I did that the one sales person that said he was going to help me scurried away to a back room. The other one put a PD measurement on my face and then said we will call you in 3 days when it’s ready. As I was walking away the only thing I saw was the one sales person that was supposed to help me, jamming on his e-cig so hard it was as if that back room was in a smoke screen. I told him«thanks for the help» in a very condescending way and left the store to go home. People, get you’re glasses at a real place, not in a mall and a store the size of a hole in the wall bar. I wish I could give less than a full star.

I have been a customer/patient at this location for the last 25 years-since I was 8 years old. I always received excellent service, and had no cause for complaint. I came in recently for an eye exam, and purchased a pair of glasses(my vision coverage allows me a new pair every year). When I came to pick up my glasses, I asked for my prescription information, so that I could get a cheap pair of glasses for when I’m playing sports and worry about breaking my regular pair. The girl gave me part of my prescription, but refused to give me my PD measurement, even though she had it right in front of her. This is hardly privileged information, but rather a measurement of my anatomy hardly different from my doctor recording height and weight. The Federal Eyeglass Rule defines ‘prescription’ as «the written specifications for lenses for eyeglasses which are derived from an eye examination, including all of the information specified by state law, if any, necessary to obtain lenses for eyeglasses.» Since lenses cannot be made properly without the PD measurement, it is necessary information to obtain lenses. The employee who I spoke with told me that she could not give it to me because«I might type it wrong while buying glasses online and they’d be liable». This is not only insulting, but misguided. Any selections I type when making an online order would logically be part of the order record, and comparable against the written prescription information. She told me I could speak with her manager(more than once), but when I said I’d like to, she said«Oh, she’s not here.» It strikes me that the store is so worried about losing business to online sellers, that they’ll deny reasonable customer requests. I had no intention of leaving them as a customer; I still need eye exams, and my insurance is excellent. But her attitude, and complete unwillingness to help have ensured that when I get my next regular pair of glasses(purchased in person!) it will not be with Sterling. Because today, I was made to feel that loyal 25 year customers are not valued there.
