The Yorkshire Steak & Seafood Restaurant

This place is a throwback in every sense of the word. The interior feels like a time warp, and I must admit I thought we made a mistake at first. We decided to keep an open mind and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and our server Geri was fantastic. They did an excellent job with spacing out the food so we never felt rushed with our salad, appetizer or main course. The food itself was delicious and the salad dressing is home made.

My significant other and I were in the Williamsburg area doing a little shopping on Valentine’s Day, and REALLY had a taste for seafood. Our first thought was Captain George’s, but they were EXTREMELY packed. (Obviously it’s Valentines Day) We did not want to wait, so I pulled out the Unilocal app under seafood restaurants, and this place was one of the top choices. So GLAD we stopped here. It was so intimate, the food was AMAZING, and extremely fresh! The staff was also very knowledgeable and friendly! The calamari was excellent, and the broiled seafood platter was GREAT! To add a nice finishing touch to such a wonderful Valentines Day dinner, they handed all the ladies a red rose to end the evening. Don’t let the outside appearance of this establishment deter you, the inside is very nice and the FOOD even better! Enjoy!

Food, well the food was good. We didn’t receive everything we ordered and it was a painfully long experience, service wise. If your a little older and want a mildly quiet environment to have conversation, then this is your place. Other than that I wouldn’t rely on the other reviews associated with this establishment.

Another great meal. Friday, little after 5 pm, no wait. Very friendly waitress-​thanks Geri. I enjoy the old look of the place. And I look forward to returning next year.

The food was good. I got the Surf n Turf and the lobster was great. The steak to me was not all that thrilling but it was still good. The atmosphere was nice and bade you feel important; however, the service was a bit slow. It took like 15 mins before I got a server to just ask what I wanted to drink. After that another 20 to get the drink and my salad. The place was not even full or busy. Needless to say i was there for almost 2 hours and I was by myself. If it wasn’t for the slow service, I would have given them a 5 star.

A hidden gem with unique and cosy ambience that fits well in historic Williamsburg. The food is excellent and the service is superb. Definitely a unique experience that I look forward to reliving on my next visit to the area. My complements to the entire crew.

Spectacular! From the moment you are greeted until you walk out the door the staff is amazing. My friend’s had just moved back to Williamsburg and closed on their home today. It was a celebration and our wonderful waitress Sara took great care of us. The food was delicious and priced accordingly. I look forward to my next visit to Williamsburg and will definitely return!

Excellent restaurant, fresh food, perfectly cooked steaks. This restaurant has been in Williamsburg for 45 years. Our wonderful waitress Jeri provided the best service, definitely worth the trip, we will back.

Geri was absolutely fantastic and the food could not have been better. My wife’s steak was perfect and the vegetables were fresher than we’ve ever had before. Even the salad was ridiculously crispy. We could not have been happier with the food or the service.

Not your average restaurant! Formal dining with service (and prices) to match. Geri was the sweetest waitress who aimed to provide friendly and flawless service. Salad had nothing but fresh plentiful greens accompanied by homemade dressings and wonderful warm rolls. We had fried shrimp/​scallops which came with the perfectly prepared fresh green beans. Plus a baked potato. Servings were average but just the right amount. Very good!

The food was good. A little expensive and no cheap fair foods or budget foods such as salads and burgers, but the entries were good. Don’t go if you’re looking for something cheap and simple. The service was excellent.

Very nice experience at dinner this evening. The fried fish tasted fresh and seasoned nicely, the steaks were a good size and tender and the wait staff was great and very down to earth. They were short staffed but overheard three wait staff called in so the two that were there is balancing the best they can as the restaurant was full. Would come back agin if I am in the area.

My wife and I visited Williamsburg for our anniversary and went through Unilocal to find a special place for dinner. We chose this place after seeing the reviews and couldn’t decide between seafood or steak. We still couldn’t decide and had the Surf & Turf. An 8oz filet and a lobster tail that looked like it came off of a 2/2.5 lb lobster. Everything was delicious! We had the calamari and crab stuffed mushrooms as appetizers.
The waitresses were super friendly as everyone has previously stated in reviews.
The décor is a little dated, but it’s family owned passed down to the next generation. You can feel the love that was put into this place and the love that is continued in the food.
They do not get as much business due to the chain restaurants, but is still within 10 minutes of the hotels. So this made for a beautiful quiet evening.
When we come back, we will definitely do dinner here again.

Arrived late (30mins before their closing time) and hungry after a full day at Water Country USA. The 7 of us were greeted warmly and with appreciation. The seafood platter had a wide variety and was tasty. The ribeye was also great. This is a wonderful local business with great food and staff.

What a pleasant find in Williamsburg! This hidden gem has been around for over 30 years, and I’m surprised it doesn’t have more reviews! I love the old-​school restaurant vibe when you walk in, with the carpet, the large flower décor, the dark wood, and the dim lights. The menu offers a large variety, including appetizers (crabmeat cocktail, spanakopita, shrimp cocktail, etc.), soups, salads, seafood/​steak entrees, and prime rib. The hubs and I came here for dinner — we started off with the Stuffed Mushrooms with Crabmeat and Cheese (wasn’t a fan of these, as the Monterrey Jack cheese mixed with the crab meat was just not tasty) and chicken wings (those wings were so crispy and delicioussss — yum!); the hubs ordered a bowl of the New England Clam Chowder, but that never came out T_​_​_​T For our entrees, the hubs had the Roast Prime Rib with a side of baked potato and horseradish (the prime rib was seasoned perfectly, and it was very juicy and delicious — we just wished a side of more au jus sauce came with!); I had the Broiled Rib Steak (Ribeye, with a side of rice pilaf and green beans; I also added a lobster tail and 3 stuffed jumbo shrimp (filled with crabmeat); the Ribeye and the lobster tail were both overcooked, but the jumbo shrimp was delicious, as were the haricot verts and the rice pilaf). The complimentary basket of rolls were absolutely delicious, as they were right out of the oven, had a crispy exterior, with a fluffy inside — I’m not really much of a bread person, but these were SO GOOD!!! We also had a bowl of salad, and it was the freshest salad we’d had, as the vegetables were so crunchy and yummy, and the little bowl of ranch sauce was a nice touch, as we can add as little or as much as we wanted! Our server, Ms. Sarah, was very personable and very sweet, and she made sure that everything was well taken care of and that everything was satisfactory. I know some may complain about the slower service, but you come to the Yorkshire to have a great, filling meal in a very laid-​back atmosphere, enjoying your company. I had a great time, and I will definitely be back! :D

Love this place! Wanted a steak dinner after a long day at work… Long ways from California! Sarah, the waitress, was amazing… Food was good. Nice little find! Will come back next time I’m in town. My NY steak was more medium than the medium request… Could have used a bit more seasoning. Only two complaints, if you can call them that…
