I don’t think that I could put into words the wonder of this place in a review – it must be experienced. Imagine the charm and warmth of your local corner store where they know your name combined with the top-shelf quality of Michigan produce and locally crafted goods and foods. From the pies to the tamales, and from the amazing selection of Michigan wines and beers, Evergreen Market has you covered. Highly recommended and can’t wait to go back!

A wonderful one-stop shop for produce and all kinds of regional foods– grassfed meats(including venison!), dried fruits and vegetables(made in-house and extremely fresh, unlike a lot of bulk-bin dried products), local wines. One of the store’s specialties is kale and kale chips, and the latter are super-good(and I’m not even the world’s biggest kale fan). We also really enjoyed the dried apple/granola bars, also local; so much better than their mass-market counterparts. The store now also carries locally sourced mushrooms — we just missed morel season(drat), but I’m sure they will be carrying some of the cultivated mushrooms that local farms are starting to grow. And, of course, being at the edge of a cherry orchard, the store sells lots of cherry items. Our visit made us very glad that we always travel with a cooler… and our out-of-state kids were absolutely delighted with the regional goodies we found here. One caution: The store, which is just west of the local casino, is small and easily overlooked… if you get to Brownwood Farms or Elk Rapids, you have driven too far! And you don’t want to miss it.

The pie we bought was awful. One of the worst pies I have ever had in my life. Very dry… bizarre. I honestly didn’t know a pie could actually be dry. The apples were chunked into great big hunks and pretty sure apples were previously frozen. Not much flavor whatsoever. I would highly discourage you from buying any of the pies. We bought the 3 fruit pie, apple the cherry the blueberry combined. Not good at all judge yourself by the picture. On a positive note. The store was actually really cool. Definitely worth a stop or stay away from the pie in my opinion.

Loooove this place!!! Stop here all the time on my way to/from TC, so convenient and delicious. The wraps are a great pick for lunch, never had one that wasn’t fresh and the bacon pesto on the club is out of this world! The guac should come with a warning label as I dare you not to eat the entire tub! My best friend got married last year in Mt. Pleasant and I made welcome baskets for everyone staying at the hotel, the owner made us mini versions of his awesome apple cinnamon granola bars and apple granola. Omg everyone LOVED it and was asking where they could order more. Bottom line, I feel so good knowing I’m supporting a local business that is all about supporting other local businesses! The food is the bomb and I can find fresh yummy fruits and veggies without having to wait for the farmers market. Wherever your journey may be taking you make sure you stop in and say hi to the guys at Evergreen Market, you won’t regret it! :)
