Delicious! I tried them for the first time at their new East Village location. Amazing wings! And terrific customer service. Yum.

The wings are very very good. Good quality, meaty, A+ flavor. My only criticism– I was given a SHOCKINGLY small amount of onion rings. 7 or 8SMALL onion rings for $ 5? Won’t be ordering that in the future.

Really great wings, both traditional and boneless, but they are remiss in thinking that blue cheese will satisfy all customers, and that the simple addition of ranch as an alternative(especially for barbecue wings) is unnecessary — for that reason and that reason only, I am forced to deduct a star from what are otherwise fantastic wings.

Dan and John’s Wings are the best in the area. No other place has as meaty a wing. Their buffalo sauces and bbq sauce, along with the others, are incredible. The staff and ownership group is also extremely friendly. You can tell they really take pride in their product. I look forward to the permanent shop opening soon!

Wow, I finally tried these hot wings at Smorgs yesterday(the Prospect Park version) and they’re the best wings I’ve had since Bonnie’s in Park Slope. Really well done. The only negative things about them are their seating(there is none, since they’re a small tent) and the heat(it’s uncomfortable being around several open fryers on a 100 degree day.) Otherwise, you’ll definitely like these if you like wings, which you do, because wait are there really people who don’t like wings? Didn’t think so.

Traditional Buffalo wings done very well. Unlike Duff’s in WNY, hot is hot at Dan’s(at Duff’s medium is hot and hot is really hot.) Hot sauce at Dan’s is your traditional vinegar based hot sauce with butter. Wings are crispy yet juicy inside. Ask for extra sauce if you like your wings lying in a little pool for dipping. Not being a fan of bleu cheese, I would only like to see a ranch option be added to the mix.

Literally the most amazing wings I could ever hope for. So crispy. So saucy. So good. Lol and the owner I spoke to was so nice. They move really fast under that little tent. I can’t wait until the original location is open in east village. I’m going to be there constantly.

Being Buffalo born-and-raised this is the closest thing to home yet. After living here a year I realized that NYC doesn’t really have buffalo wing game at all — maybe my expectations were too high coming from the real deal upstate. Cue Dan and John’s Wings — giving me some hope that there are some people who can do it right in this city. The blue cheese is sweet and the wings have that perfect texture that’s hard to find outside Buffalo’s city limits. I tried them at their Coney Island location and needless to say — I’ll be back once a week!

First try for this buffalo girl at the new Coney Island outpost. Really friendly guys working. Weren’t sure what part of B’lo Dan and John are from … Wings are some of the best representing in NYC I’ve had yet but needs a better blue cheese(thicker with more chunks) Thanks for your hospitality

Mild wasn’t special but the BBQ was really good. Meaty wings that you won’t want to share. Good for a nice spicy taste during the day

Though they are good, they are too expensive! They were $ 8 for 5 wings, FIVE! And $ 14 for 10 wings. If it’s just one person eating they would probably get the 5 wings. I’ve done this but I end up wanting more but 10 wings is too much! Something like 7 – 8 wings would be perfect if it’s just one person. And I usually pay about $ 10 for 8 wings at most places. Buffalo Wild Wings is just as good but less expensive. They need to lower the prices, and let people be able to choose 8 wings. The spicy bbq sauce is perfect.

From Buffalo so I’m bassically an expert when it comes to the real deal. I have to say these were very good and a pleasent suprise. I think the owners or people that work there are also from Buffalo. You can tell in the quality and authentic taste they have.

Best wings ever. Not those tiny baby wings u get from pizza places these are huge. Okay not as huge as Dallas bbq but far superior in quality. The«insane» sauce is actually insane and pretty much out of my league and I’m Indian lol. The wings are addictive, super tasty and have pretty much turned me into a wing snob, because no where else is as good. These are a must try and worth getting messy for when you’re at smorg. Oh yeah blue cheese sauce is legit, not like those little sauce containers of random blue cheese. They sell it and it’s something I would actually buy.

Absolutely the best wings. The super hot ones are very hot! Leave your lips stinging! Get the hot ones. They’re less intense!

I agree with other reviewers that these are superior wings. I sought them out at Smorgasburg, and these folks serve large wings that are perfectly cooked and appropriately dressed. My one gripe is that the fair-like environment is just not the ideal environment for wing consumption. There’s rarely a place to sit and relish your food at Smorgasburg, and these wings need two dexterous hands if you’re to get all the tasty flesh off of them. I guess my dream is that these guys will build up the reputation to warrant an actual eatery, where true wing gluttony can be pursued.

I think the wings were good. I would go back but wouldn’t go out of my way to find these again. Ordered mild and spicy bbq and neither had much spice to them.

Without doubt, the best wings I have ever had in the city! These wings are super big and juicy! Dan and John pick these well! They offer different sauces to bathe these in right after being deep fried and even though you can get 7 wings for $ 9, these wings are huge! like seriously big!(Ok, wait, don’t expect bowling ball sizes chicken wings either, but pretty big for wings!) I was able to try these out while at Smorgasburg in Brooklyn and the actual owners were cooking and taking the orders. They had their Texas look on point and a southern charm that made you feel that they really were enjoying what they were doing. I really wish I was eating some more right now. If I remember well, I believe they only have two locations at the moment and might be looking to expand into the city soon(if not already). I will be looking forward to getting my hand on more of these. Quick suggestions… Don’t be finicky about getting dirty, they are hot wings, it is supposed to happen, also, the hot sauce is not really hot(I’m not mad though cause they told me it really wasn’t hot at all) So if you really like a kick, ask for inferno sauce! :)

I hate to sensationalize things. But these are the best wings I’ve ever had. Went to Smorgasburg on Saturday, and ordered just 4 hot wings. The sauce was amazing — perfectly balanced — not too vinegary, not too spicy, and very flavorful. The wings are ‘naked’ but the skin is crispy, so you get almost a satisfying crunch when you bite in. My mouth is watering just thinking about it… slightly expensive, but that’s Smorgasburg for you.

Bottom line — best wings in all five boroughs. As a native Buffalonian I am the first to criticize ‘buffalo wings.’ I stepped into foodie heaven today at Williamsburg’s well known Smorgasburg. I saw two giant foam wing hats and ventured over to see what the buzz was about. Dan and John — the owners and brilliant minds behind this biz were frying up a storm. The two were very funny and told me their story. They wanted to bring real buffalo wings to Brooklyn. I saw the glorious wings being handed to me. I bought them ‘hot’ which they were. The perfect combination of crispiness to sauce ratio! They were large in size and I had an equal amount of double and single boners! If you don’t know what that means — you’re not a wing connoisseur. I have missed my buffalo wings and hands down will be back every Saturday to get my fill. Double bonus kids — they have Vernor’s gingerale(my fave) and Rootie’s blue cheese. It doesn’t get any better. Dan and John… the new wing kings in my life.

So this Saturday, I decided to make up for lost time and finally check out Smorgasburg, to see what all the fuss is about.(Quick tip: arrive between 11 and noon if you don’t want to literally rub shoulders with everyone — this food market is for real). Unfortunately, you can’t hit up all the stalls in one day(unless you boast a bottomless gut and wallet), but that’s a great reason to come back. Several stalls impressed, but this one in particular I thought was pretty genius. Dan and John, proprietors of the eponymous new street food venture, are super-friendly dudes. They were busy filling poultry orders, but I got a chance to chat with the lovely ladies they had dishing the wings. These girls definitely stood out as the friendliest and most engaging tent hosts of the afternoon, and I got a chance to learn a bit about their avian cookery. Dan and John are Buffalo natives who saw a gaping hole in the NYC street/food truck scene: real-deal Buffalo wings! And it occurs to me that they are abso-freaking-lutely right! Between Cambodian curry and Salvadoran papusas, how has no one thought to meet a very deep American demand for hot wings??? My friends and I sampled the goods – about 4 jumbo wings and some requisite celery(pass, but you might be a stalk man or woman) per order. And you get to dip them in Rootie’s blue cheese, which they also have for sale at the table. The wings come in several grades of caliente, but I recommend the hot or «infernal» if you want to feel like a champ. The BBQ version is finger-licking good as well. They weren’t cheap, but on par with the other offerings at Smorgasburg. Definitely bigger than the wings you’re liable to find on any given Sunday at a New York City sports bar, and tastier than what I’ve had at Blondie’s, Wildwood, and Atomic Wings. They’re only there on Saturdays, so make sure to seek it out and squeeze it in between sessions of beer cheese, dry ramen, and tiny country pies. And, if you linger long enough, you might see Touré(from MSNBC) slurping down wings. I wonder how many celebs I missed(thanks, SO, for the eagle eyes).
