Waited 5 minutes for someone to greet us before getting up and retrieving our own menus, then after a waitress walks up to where we are sitting i say «how are you?» And then she responded «not good» and did not look up or make eye contact with me, then she took our order and walked away without being polite or kind in anyway, but at the end of the day the shakes were good so I couldn’t get that mad!

Let me start by saying that I should have walked out when I went into the grossest bathroom I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. However, it is Thanksgiving day and our choices are limited. Worst food. Worst restaurant. Worst management ever.
We were the only people eating, 30 minutes for dry, overcooked food. The coffee smelled and tasted foul and the food on the floor was not only old and being stepped on over and over by staff, but was everywhere.
When we went to pay, we asked for the coffee to be taken off and to speak to a manager. The manager refused to come out, but as we waited we could see a great amount of food on the floor in the kitchen area.

I have patronized this location several times. There seems to be an issue with service there. Was there today, and several people walked out waiting to be seated. We ordered drinks only, and after a lengthy wait, they came without napkins or spoons (ice cream shakes). We did manage to finish with just straws as we never saw the server again untill she brought the bill. We were very disapointed in todays visit.

I have never been to a Steak and Shake. We were driving home from a sporting event in Tampa around 1AM on a Sunday night. We were very hungry and anxious to find anything open to get a quick bite to eat. Right of 75 the exit in Wildwood there was Steak and Shake open. Boy we got lucky! We sat down and ate a great cheeseburger and fries off the $ 4.00 menu! It was delicious… compliments to Jacob the chef who cooked our food. He deserves recognition. Perfect crispy French fries and the burger was properly grilled and not over done and dried out. Our servers Nicole and Fiona were extremely nice, friendly and efficient. We have gone in there once again and had the same experience. We liked it.

Seriously– a dollar menu at a diner and free meals for kids on weekends!!! What’s not to love? Ok– not a five star restaurant or mom and pop shop, but with 99¢ breakfast tacos, Oreo ice-​cream sandwiches, tea and more– why not treat your family to a cheap dinner out? The bonus kids free meal on weekends is limited to one free meal to every $ 8 purchased. There are multiple meals for under $ 4 on the standard (adult) menu as well. Located right at 75 and 44 at the gas station across from the citrus stand. Glad we stopped!

My wife and I had lunch here today; first time to any Steaks-​n-​Shakes. I ordered a bowl of chili, the single steakburger, and a shake. My wife ordered the single steakburger and a shake. The food was very slow coming out. Looking around we saw more than a few tables waiting on food. We also had time to notice the food on the floor. Our food finally arrived. The chili was cold (they nuked it), the fries were cold. They serve fries that are about 1⁄8 inch square, just about the thickness of the burger patty they served us, which was way overcooked. Good news, the shakes were very good. So we’ve been there, tried it, and won’t waste our money again.

On a recent road trip stopped in to introduce a visiting cousin his first Steak and Shake experience. The waitress was awesome and was so fun to work with my «virgin» cousin to a steakburger and a shake. They built his burger the way he wanted and he got the shake he wanted. As for me and my son, we both were satisfied with our food and shakes. We did all agree though that Chick-​fil-​A has a better shake. I tried the new Chipolte burger and would get it again. The only real downside was the bathrooms could have used a little more attention.
