Really enjoyed our meal here on a Taco Tuesday. The tacos are really little. My husband like the carne asada on his a lot. I had pupusas which were really large, and the curtido was wonderful. The hard taco was not a thrill, I would not have that again. The complimentary chips and sauce were very tasty, the sauce being a very thin red sauce that was full of flavor. The interior was cozy and bright and the server very attentive. Fun place for homemade tasting food.

This unassuming quaint little place is one of my all time favorite places to eat. Where authenticity and hospitality meet. Everything on the menu is very, very amazing!

Whenever i was sick, i called to pick up an order of hot menudo. It usually took 10 or so minutes and by the time i got there it was already bagged up waiting for me. Very home feeling this business generates. Will def come out of my way to come get menudo from here.

Great service, great food, authentic salvadoran food, and the complementary chips and salsa are delicious, I’m feeling like I’m in El Salvador every time I went there.

Good place for pupusas! The other dishes are meh. Their camarones al mojo de ajo are the worst I’ve ever tasted. Would come back but only for their pupusas. Good customer service.

Unassuming from the outside but inside is clean and nice. The tacos are very good the price is right for fresh Mexican food. I will return and try the chili relleno next time. Service from Esmeralda was very good she is helpful and friendly.

Looking for authentic Mexican food… Look no further ! This is one of the best Mexican food places in this area. The fresh salsa and chips, I really enjoyed the guacamole and the enchiladas. The refried beans were just like my grandmas it was like I was eating my grandmothers cooking … And the price was so affordable looking forward to going again soon

Amazing food and cheerful service. It doesn’t look like much on the outside but the atmosphere on the inside is lovely. The number of options ranging from burritos, to tacos, to pupusas, to caldos, plates, and American food items is impressive. Hands down the best caldo de res I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The shrimp cocktail, platano frito with frijoles, fried yucca, and the pupusas tasted authentic, delicious, and freshly made. The food took a while(but that’s to be expected because it was Sunday afternoon and the place was crowded) but it was definitely worth the wait!

Came here for the champurrado but they only have it in the morning on weekends so I was a bit disappointed that I didn’t get to try it. So I ordered oysters on the half shell and they were out of those at 5pm on a Monday night so that was disappointing too. Ended up ordering a vegetarian pupusa, a fish taco, fried plantains with sour cream, and my friend got tamales. That all came with chips and salsa and small pickled cabbage salad. All the food was really, really, really good! The salsa was probably the best I’ve ever had — it wasn’t like pico de gallo; it was watery but had a really great flavour and was mildly spicy, not too overwhelming. The pupusa was amazing and overall I’m really glad we tried this place out. Will definitely be back!

The service was really great, they tried hard to make the experience a good one, the waitress even let me try some of their specialty drink without an obligation to buy it. I hadn’t even asked her for a sample so that was a really nice gesture. The only thing I would say could be better was the wait time for the food. I hope they just means it was really fresh, but it was surprising at how long it took. We got: The Mickey Pancakes: Standard, but they didn’t bring syrup? So it was dry. Huevos Rancheros: I haven’t seen this way before and I didn’t like it as much, but the person who got them said they were a lot better if you mixed everything together. Plantains: They did them really great! I’d recommend them. Taco Salad Ensalada: Really yummy, I don’t think it had any dressing, which was fine because they put a ton of guac. Cheese and squash pupusa: probably the best thing we had, it tasted great with the coleslaw and wasn’t too greasy. Overall, I’d say it’s one of the better restaurants in that area, and I would probably go back to try more.

We stopped for lunch and they won us over forever with prompt smiling service and above all the best tamales I have ever had. They grind their own masa so the sweet corn flavor and moistness comes through. This is a must stop if you are any whet in so cal

This is my new favorite place. It’s so yummy. I love their plantains and popusas. My husband loves it also and my four teens love popusas so I’m excited to take them to dinner here. I just know that my teens are going to love this place also.

Another awesome meal! I feel like I am eating with my el salvadoran/mexican la familia. Well, I am a pinche guero so my faux latin family. Ordered the flautas, chicharrones, chicken papusa, and plantains. Everything was delish once again! Please add some nice bathrooms. Not for me but the littles. Hate having to walk them outside in the middle of my muy delisioso meal! Thanks again El Comal!

Really great pupusa’s! I had the cheese and jalepeno and pork. Great cabbage and chips and salsa. The water tastes off, not sure why that happens but with lemon it’s ok. I will be back and order to go. It is nice to have a place that isn’t a chain around here that has good home cooked food!

I like this place a lot the service was great and the food was amazing. I love smaller places like this cause they really value there business and food. I would definitely come back again to tey a different dish.

And we have officially tried the pupusas! Yum yum yum! My fav is the jalapeño and cheese ones! They are a little dry so they serve them with a sort of coleslaw and dressing that are very yummy! As per my first review don’t let the outside fool you here this place is awesome!
