Truly excellent food. Well worth the money per plate everything is so fresh and so delicious. Tonight we had sole, pesto chicken, the gorgon zola steak and the chicken franchaise and everything was very good. Very good sauces. Also had the key lime pie and deluxe snickers type pie for dessert and both of those we very good too Service could improve slightly. But the food is top notch.

This place isn’t assuming from the outside, but worth the visit! The menu is fresh and you always get more than you an eat. My favorite is the steak baseball or any of their fresh pasta dishes. On the weekend they have live music and it’s fun just to sit at the bar and have a few drinks and listed the the guy on piano(he’s great). BTW I’ve only been here for dinner. You’ll be happy you stopped. This place is fun and the food is fantastic. Great for a date night or to just hang at the bar and listen to the live music.

I had lunch here with a family member a month ago when another place was closed we we’re going to visit. We had never been here and I was excited to try it. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and they brought out a BBQ chicken sandwich instead. I told the waitress it was wrong and that it was BBQ and she actually said«No, thats our buffalo.» instead of bringing it back to get me what I had actually ordered. I think everyone knows the difference between buffalo and bbq. It was disgusting. There was so much sauce and the bun was soggy and gross I didn’t even really eat it. And I was mad because it wasn’t what I ordered. The place wasn’t even busy. The only thing I liked about this place was how big the bar was even though I didn’t sit there. Won’t be returning even though I live two minutes away from there.

Quite possibly the worst lunch I have ever had. The food was undercooked and tasted absolutely disgusting. There we flies buzzing around while we tried to eat. All three of us sent our food back as it was not cooked properly. I have eaten here several times and was quite shocked this time as in the past it has been pretty good. Very disappointing.

Went there for brunch on Sunday a few months ago, ended up walking out when they were serving food to people that walked in after U.S. And we didn’t even get our drink order in, got two complimentary bloody Mary’s after complaining from the bartender then walked out after we were done with our free drinks. Went to jakes

You can’t judge a book by its cover. The outside of this place is pretty uninviting and the parking lot is awkward. Its location on Boston Road(near the Wilbraham line, near many empty buildings) is unfortunate. The food is very good. I’ve had a few salads there that were great. The menu is interesting and much more upscale than the exterior of this establishment implies. The bar is a little closer to the front door than I’d like, and there is clearly a set of regulars who get the best treatment. While there recently, we were asked to move at the bar by a waiter so some regulars could have our seats. It can be hard to get the attention of the bartenders if regulars are visiting so service can be slow. Overall, a good spot if you don’t mind feeling like an outsider and spending a little longer than usual.

Ok. I dont know what going on here, but I’m calling shenanigans… How this place has higher than a single star is beyond me… We went here for«brunch». It was, without exaggeration, the worst brunch I have ever had… Literally, the continental breakfast at a La Quinta blows this place out of the water. Cardboard puck-like pancakes, bacon, ham, eggs, sausage. Thats it. None of which was any good. Maybe the dinner is great but as far as brunch, eat anywhere else. Also, the mens room was gross.

I think this is a pretty solid local brunch stop. The décor is nice, service pleasant, they did make a mistake on my order but the dish they gave me was amazing so I didn’t bother sending it back. I recommend the BLT or the Norwegian Benedict. One of my companions had the buffet and liked it, but there was no bacon, so I have to deduct stars(yes, I am dead serious, bacon is a staple). I used to eat there years ago when it was the Sunset, I expected something like that and was pleasantly surprised at some of the changes they made. I did, however, wish that I had dressed less like I was going to work the docks and more like I was going to have a semi-fancy brunch. In the future I will be sure to dress more to the occasion.

While looking through the menu, we found that the food was rather pricey for the descriptions of what you would be getting. We chose the 3 for $ 20 specials. This includes a salad, soup, or appetizer; an entrée(not a good selection in my opinion) and a dessert(only two dessert options a brownie sundae or some fried cookie dough thing. The salad was very good. The penne bolognese was ok, not very much meat and tasted like chef boy ar dee(I didn’t eat it but that’s what my friend said) I had a Mediterranean chicken with mashed potatoes and zucchini. It had good flavor but was made with way too much oil and the chicken was very tough, had a hard time cutting it. There was so much oil in this dish that there was a 1″ ring of oil around the whole plate. The brownie sundaes were nothing special, very small, brownie was completely dried out! Not impressed, won’t be back. Service started out good but then the waitress disappeared. We were done with our entrees for 15 minutes or more before she came back to check on us and then she was just going to give us the check without offering us our dessert that was included with what we ordered. When she delivered our dessert, I asked for the check because I was afraid we would have to wait another 15 minutes for her to come back. She made a face and tossed the check on the table. There was a guy playing a sax… it was very loud and he kept getting into this awful ear piercing pitch that was just annoying. If a restaurant is going to have entertainment, please have good entertainment. This was needless, obnoxious noise!

We’ve been here a few times… mostly for late lunch, early dinner. So we’ve only seen Dana’s at off hours with not alot of customers. And they plan for that time period by having not alot of staff, so service can be slooooooow. Friendly though. The food has been solid… good, flavorful burgers, solid sandwiches, great fries & homemade chips. Some good beers on tap & in bottles. Haven’t tried any cocktails yet. Interior is cute with bar seating, separate dining room & outdoor patio. Nice paintings that are for sale. Plants on patio look great. They had a bit of a fly farm going during my last visit which was annoying. I’d like to try them at the dinner crush to see how they manage & update my review.

I gave Dana’s Grillroom 2 chances or as I should call them 2 strikes: My first experience going was 2 months ago for lunch during break with a co-worker, I realized we should of eaten in the dinning room after the«seasoned» bartender took forever, and I mean forever! We saw more people come and go from the dinning area with one server(I could only see one, maybe there were even 2 servers!!) than at the bar with considerably way less customer! At our work we are give an hour break for lunch, not the 2+ hours needed at their extremely slow pace(5 minutes to get a menu and several more to take our drink order, and nearly 20+ minutes for our lunch order, oh and at ordering time was when she informed us about the lunch specials, and at this time there were only 4 other patrons at the bar!!) Maybe it was the obsession/allure of her cellular phone or her desire to cater to people she clearly already knew, who knows, but one thing was clear: she didn’t care about our experience. We both ordered sandwiches. After waiting patiently and noticing people who had ordered after us were getting their lunches, we asked the bartender politely what the hold up was to which she went and checked the kitchen. She returned and told us that the kitchen had misplaced our order and brushed it off as though this is a common occurrence and continued empathizing it was the kitchens mistake, insincerely(We could care less who’s fault it is! just make things right please!). The sandwiches were honestly quiet repulsive, sloppy, and the ingredients were far less than fine dinning standard! Oh ya, and when the bill came, we were charged for sandwiches we didn’t even order! Odd right? Thankfully the kitchen had misplaced the order, with food we did not even order, saving us from another debacle! All sandwiches are the same price, although I feel she shouldn’t of made us pay after such a fiasco! She showed no empathy or even a slight indication she though we were unhappy(It was clear we were not) or that this was unacceptable My second experience/the final strike out: For my mother-in-law’s birthday dinner last week, she wanted to give Dana’s to try. I went with an open mind, disregarding my last experience as big misinterpretation(with my fingers crossed)! My wife called earlier in the week to make our reservation, not knowing if reservations were required on weekends. We arrived and the young hostess said she did not have a reservation for us in her«book», and that we were going to need to wait due to the full dinning room and other reservations she had. DEEPBREATHS… We waited and then were placed in make shift UN-even table. We ordered the chips to start with, and quite honestly, they were the only item we all truly enjoyed, go figure!!! For dinner I ordered the porterhouse steak(their surprisingly limited grill entrée’s options still boggles my mind, you are a grillroom, aren’t you?! I really wanted a Filet Mignon, but their menu on their website differed almost completely) which I ordered rare. It was definitely not the size as indicated on the menu(The steak was barely a inch thick) and when I cut into it, it had that odd aged grey hue and I know from experience is not from over cooking! I substituted the mashed cauliflower as a healthy alternative and was served waxy mashed potatoes instead! GROSS. The other guests at our dinner were not impressed with their entrees either. The service was unexceptional at best, and the food was nothing to stimulate/excite any of our taste pallets(besides the chips, don’t forget the chips, which is ironic given the given status of their establishment). I hope Dana can get her act together, begin develop a better staff by hiring competent employees, and they start producing dinning experiences and meals that are in par with fine dinning standards or maybe they will think of new concept that fits their abilities better…

This place can’t seem to decide what it wants to be. from the outside it looks like an ordinary route 20 roadhouse. inside things improve with half the place a lovely modern looking bar. the other half a restaurant. On a Saturday night a saxophonist played smooth jazz type songs(a little too loudly) trying to appeal to both the bar and the dining crowd. The manager/owner(?) seemed to really care. he personally. read us off the specials and seemed excited about them. BTW. are restaurants«specials»…food that they want to get«rid» of… or entrees they make up specially for that evening? I’m never sure. Anyhow. food results are uneven. I had the lamb rigatoni special and it was OK. seemed pricey @ $ 21(Ok the cream of broccoli soup came with it and was tasty.) the entrée was nothing special. wife had her usual salmon and enjoyed it. my son had the pork shank($ 22.50)…and said it was average. Said they«doctored» it up with too much sauce. friends had the Caesar chicken salad and the fettucine dish and no one was overwhelmed. We all wanted to like the food more than we did. Service was speedy and friendly… but the kitchen needs some work. I’d also like to see the outside of the restaurant improved. make it more inviting. restaurant has a lot of potential… but right now its in the average category.

I invited my Dad to join me for the advertised raw bar on a Tuesday night. Sadly, the oysters didn’t seem fresh and they had no clams, except for the Zuppa Clams special. Were the clams too old to eat raw but ok for the Zuppa? Very puzzling and the bartender couldn’t explain it. We sat at the bar and the female bartender spent more time catering to the kids running around the restaurant(perhaps the owners kids) causing us to hail her down every time we wanted something. I really wanted this to be good — its close to home and the bar area is great. Guess we’ll keep looking for a local place that has good food and good service!

My boyfriend and I stopped here on a whim because of all the great reviews we read. We picked the right place. The parking lot was packed so we called and asked how long the wait was. We were told about 30 minutes so I started to apologize, saying that was too long, but the host, Bobby told me there were two spots available at the bar. I really felt like he wanted us to eat there(: the bartenders were very prompt in greeting us and I had the most delicious watermelon mojito. The bartenders had us laughing, made us feel like regulars, and took the extra steps to ensure we had a great time. The food was phenomenal. I had the steak Gorgonzola. So tender and flavorful. My boyfriend had the pasta and meatballs and said they were light and delicious despite being a usually heavy-type meal. I wish we lived closer because we would definitely be back.

Dana’s grill room is a welcome addition to the Boston Rd. dining scene. Casual but refined, Dana’s has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, small but well-laid out dining room, beautiful bar, and friendly, professional staff. My mom and I came in last night, Saturday, at about 630 and were able to be seated though a reservation is recommended. We tried the wine specials and were both pleased, pairing them with fried brussels sprouts, a mahi mahi puttanesca special, and the Thai shrimp. While the spouts were tasty, they were perhaps a bit TOO deep fried and oily, however the bread basket and constantly refilled water helped alleviate this problem. The shrimp was well plated, flavorful, and unique, with a portion size just right for an app or a small entrée. My mom really enjoyed her mahi mahi puttanesca, which came with baked polenta, and was again elegantly plated and portioned, and seemed to be prepared with deftness and care. Next time I will try one of their fun looking cocktails and a dessert. Dana’s was a great experience and makes it easy to tell that the owner and chef care a lot about offering a delicious, unique, elegant yet comfortable dining option, which is a notch above the other restaurants in the area. Watch out horizons. They’re gunning for you.

This place is wonderful. Great food, staff, atmosphere — everything. It’s odd though, they market themselves as a «casual» place but the experience there is more business-casual, if not dressy. The décor, the staff uniforms, the menu, and even a matradee makes it seem rather fancy.
