Our family loves Kobe! Since our first time there last January, everyone in our family has chosen Kobe for their birthday dinner! Sure, it’s on the pricier end for family-friendly restaurants, but the food is always fabulous and you can easily pay the same amount for filet mignon, steak, chicken, scallops, etc. in other restaurants WITHOUT getting entertainment while you wait! The portion sizes are also quite generous! Between the included salad, soup, shrimp, rice, tea, and sorbet at the end, we share meals with our kids and still leave full, sometimes even bringing some leftovers home! The«show» differs a bit from chef to chef, but we’ve always been thoroughly entertained. Our kids LOVE the onion«volcano», the egg tricks, and the chefs’ jokes. We also recommend making reservations! We tried to go once without reservations on a weeknight thinking it wouldn’t be that busy and there was a two-hour wait!

What a great time! Experience differs based on chef, but the food was fresh and in large quantities, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Our chef was very interactive and funny, and also a great cook! Everyone at our table had fun

Had a great experience with Kobe’s the last time I was there. I have been to habachi style grills before but this past time really stuck out. The food was amazing, as always! But our chef was phenomenal and created such a unique and fun experience. Next time I’m nearby I will definitely stop by.

I really wasn’t impressed. It’s expensive and the food was nothing to rant over. Services was a bit rude and the grill was a little boring. Just not worth it.

I love this place! Every time I come back to Wichita I try to make it here. The manager, Lisa, is so sweet and takes good care of us when we come in. If you’ve never have habachi before this is the place to try. There is one chef, Shane, that is very good. He does a good job of being very entertaining when he cooks and also the food turns out great! I love watching people attempt to catch shrimp in their mouths! Also the bar is quite nice if you just want to have a drink.

The man was not entertaining and cold. Burned the rice. My chicken was dry… He didn’t act like he knew what he was doing and look like he’d never made food before. Waitress staff was very nice. For the price, dinner sucked. When you spend $ 30 for your plate you don’t expect to pay for rice either, which was weird. Over all, I’ll find somewhere else next time.

We chose the Kobe Steakhouse of Japan for our Anniversary dinner. We made reservations because it was suggested in some of the information that I had read about the restaurant. My husband had never been to a Teppanyaki restaurant before, but I had, several times while living in California. We chose to get there when they open — which was 4:30pm on Sundays. We were seated when there were enough people to fill our table, The waitress came quickly to take our drink orders and specifically asked individuals if they also wanted water. We ordered this Flaming Volcano drink for two. Next she asked who was interested in ordering appetizers. We ordered the Crab Ragoon and they were good. Then she took our entrée orders and we ordered the ‘House Special’ — which which is a combination of filet mignon, shrimp & chicken. We WANTED to bring home leftovers. They start you with a broth soup that has a couple of chives and mushrooms floating on top. Then you receive a salad. My husband didn’t like the dressing — so he didn’t eat his and my salad(iceberg) needed to be smaller pieces(or I should have requested a knife). The Chef comes out and starts his show with flames on the grill. Some fancy utensil tossing. Then started the stir fried rice and veggies. They charge $ 3 extra per person(which made our meal $ 30 each) if you request the stir fried. I had bragged to my husband how delicious Teppanyaki stir fried rice is, so he ordered it. My husband didn’t eat more than a couple of bites of it – it wasn’t prepared the same way as I had seen it done before. But the vegetables were very good & my husband even ate most of his, which is unusual for him. The Chef then prepared the meats. Both the shrimp and chicken were excellent — but we both felt that the beef could have used some seasoning. The Chef then prepared some mushrooms that were outstanding. He ended with making a volcano out of onions and setting it on fire — then cleaned the grill and left. The waitress had diligently removed all of the soup and salad bowls. But I found it a little irritating when she showed up with ‘To Go’ boxes and started pushing to box up your meal. I had only had a few bites of the completed meal when she arrived. She also brought the final checks. Well I wanted their«Banzai’ special which includes a photograph — after all it was our wedding anniversary. So she went back and added this to our total bill. She brought out a small scoop of pineapple sherbet, which everyone ate while she boxed up our meals. I was boxing up my meal while the bus boy stood there waiting to take my plate. I felt rushed at that point. The meal was over a $ 100 with the Tip. I realize they wanted to get the next service started, but I would have preferred more time to eat my meal. We talked about it on the drive home and we would definately go back, but would probably order a smaller entrée so that it could be eaten in the allotted amount of time.

We had to come see the new Kobe’s and celebrated our dad’s birthday! We had reservations and we were delighted to see that it was really busy on a Saturday in January. The chef was extremely entertaining and skilled at the fun shrimp toss and lighting the onion on fire then making it smoke like a train. We were a large group and filled up a whole table by ourselves. To drink we tried the sake and Japanese beer and I tried a blue specialty cocktail that was definitely strong and usually with restaurant cocktails you get mostly juice so that was a nice surprise! Between the whole group we had the shrimp and steak, the chicken, the calamari. Tons of food on the sides including my favorite… the vegetables… I was lucky enough to get a majority of the groups since no one else seems to enjoy nutritious vegetables as much as me. My husband even said the fried rice was some of the best he had ever had… which means a lot since he orders it just about everywhere we go. It is a fun experience and you need to have time on your hands and not be rushed especially if it is busy. We will be back again for another special occasion soon.
