Love this place. Always great service. A quiet & friendly environment with great sandwiches, wraps, salads, drinks and desserts for good prices. This is my go-to place when I have work or studying to do. I wouldn’t want to spoil it by having everyone make it crowded & packed, but they deserve all the business possible. Definitely my new favorite café in uptown Whittier.

Cream cheese cupcakes are delicious, all of them. I don’t care for the other cupcakes they sell. I wish they did have more of a variety of pastries & made more of the popular cupcakes that always sell out. Lunch is also yummy, well priced & portion. I can’t say the same for breakfast. Also the Horchata Iced coffee is yummalicious!!! I wish there was a large size opposed to the only size they carry now(small). It’s why I give 4 stars vs 5 a few minor changes would make this place incredible. The décor inside is very inviting, pretty, and clean.

Second time trying the cup cakes at this place. Not impressed. only had like 4 flavors to chose from. The case was nearly empty. Bought the cookies and cream and Mayan ones Frosting so hard couldn’t even take a bite. And the frosting taste like shortening. Uptown needs a good cupcakery.

Sweet Dreams Desserts & Bistro in Whittier baked our youngest daughter’s 1st birthday smash cake. I had never been there before except to pick the cake up on her actual birthday which was Sunday, August 2, 2015. Yes, they are open on Sunday unlike many of the other bakeries I bookmarked. For that matter, the leftovers stayed fairly fresh and moist a few more days afterwards. When I went to pick it up, the bistro was empty. No patrons. No employees in sight, but I wasn’t overly concerned because I could hear someone in the back. While I stood there, I noticed new pastries and sweets to be set out in the glass displays were in order. However, it was around 11:00 a.m. on a Sunday & not busy at all. It took a minute for someone to get to me, but when she did she was very cordial. Because I went ahead & pre-paid over the phone with a card, the pickup from there was swift. But I wasn’t offered a receipt & forgot to ask for one. THECAKE As for the cake… No one except me, my mother-in-law & the birthday girl tried this cake — mainly because it was just for the baby girl! The cake I ordered was a 6″ round. It feeds approximately 8 people and was $ 30. The marble cake was super moist. The Bavarian cream was an excellent choice for the filling, suggested by Alejandra over the phone. It was light and mousse-like. Overall, the cake itself was not overly sweet EXCEPT for the hot pink icing which was slathered on fairly thick, but I am sure it was because I asked for the rose flower design. After trying this cake & seeing how much our now 1-year-old enjoyed it, I had«sweet dreams» later that night & wanted a piece for breakfast the next morning. The other factor that I really liked about this place was that one of the owners, Kenneth, emailed me back within 3 hours with more than enough information pertaining to my questions & my quote request. If you are thinking about ordering a cake from here, just know that they will«need to have the cake paid in full at the time of booking.» I would definitely try more from this Whittier-based bistro in their chic dining room, but I would have to find out if it’s kid friendly first… It didn’t appear to be, but I could be wrong. I attend church right across the street from this place so I go here a decent amount. They have really good food and service! Their chicken caesar wrap is delicious and so is their caesar salad. Aside from their food, they have great cupcakes! I’ve tried multiple ones, but I must say my favorite are the pineapple cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake! I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the area. One of the reasons I didn’t give them 5 stars is because they are not always open when they say they are or are suppose to be according to their hours and that can be frustrating. I suggest calling ahead of time before going so that you are not disappointed.

It’s a cute little place. I almost missed it. I’m glad I didn’t. I was just looking for a quick bite and coffee and that’s what I found… The girl who greeted us was super sweet and helpful. I ordered a chai with expresso and bagel panini and I was satisfied. My fiancé got a coffee and breakfast burrito he loved it. Very meaty. They had yummy treats in their display case I look forward to coming back to try one!

I had the tiramisu my niece had the macaroons and my wife the soap and half sandwich. The tiramisu was decent the macaroons were ok and the soap and sandwich was bad. My wife returned her food and they gave us some pastries of equal value. Overall the place is ok.

I’m what you could call a cupcake aficionado. I tend to rely more on the frosting to the cake portion itself. i came here after trying another bakery shop that was more into custom cakes had less selection of cupcakes. pinup cakes. I ordered two cupcakes. the Mayan cupcake which is Mexican chocolate with the tinge of cinnamon with buttercream frosting. And also was recommended to get the snickerdoodle cupcake with cream cheese frosting. I started with the snickerdoodle the cream cheese was scrumptiously luscious with bites that were mostly cream cheese but with added sugar — that’s frosting not just cream cheese and so soft. The top of the cupcake underneath the cream cheese frosting had crunchy bits of cinnamon sugar while the bottom part of cake was like a normal cupcake. the other cupcake didn’t seem like buttercream frosting cake I’ve had in the past could just be me though. then setting that aside my hand went to the peanut butter cookie peanut butter is something I like but I don’t usually go gaga over it. I asked if there were pieces of peanuts in the cookie and he said no they’re peanut butter chips. Mind I was focused on the cupcakes so I didn’t dive into the cookie for 35 minutes and I picked up the cupcakes at noon so even though I have the air conditioning on somewhat the windows were up and I didn’t pick up the cookie until 35 minutes later. each bite starting to melt before I could really chew it and the peanut butter chips were melting too. it was like an explosion of the best peanut butter cookie I’ve ever had mind I’ve only had my mother’s and a couple others but I was like if the chocolate chip cookie was this good I’d route their there cookies higher than their cupcakes and I really liked the cream cheese snickerdoodle cupcake it’s just that this cookie was so amazing so good so moist and so melt in your mouth not in your hand that I knew I needed to leave a review before I told myself to do it and then forgot as has happened several read hundreds of times prior to. the cakes are displayed behind glass probably in an air conditioned setting and this has an effect on the cake portion of the cupcake it seemed dryer not as moist as you would want cake to be interesting.

I adore this place! Me and my friends love to come to this place. The food is delicious and by the looks of it its high quality. The prices aren’t high and you get a decent portion of food. I love their nachos! Its a huge amount they serve you… Cannot complain about that. The desserts are the best I have ever had. I would so recommend this place to anyone.

So as I was running on empty after a 10 hour workday, hustling home to help my boys with their homework, then hurrying to my sons baseball practice I new that an Americano would be needed and Unilocal led me to Sweet Dreams Desserts. What led me here was that not only do they serve desserts and coffee they also serve food. The delicious smells coming from the kitchen woke up my no-existent appetite and I found myself super hungry. I ordered a salad and Americano and the gentlemen behind the counter noticed me checking in and my coffee was free even though it was way past breakfast. A plus for them and the salad was so good and full of flavor and my Americano was perfectly made, super bold and smooth just the way I like it. Because I am watching my waist I had to pass on the desserts, but oh we’re they begging me to devour them. My son and nephew opted for a cupcake which they devoured, so sorry no picture of those. All in all the stuff I tasted was delicious my coffee was perfect and the service was excellent. This place has won me over and I could kick myself for not coming here any sooner since I am always in the area.

I work right across the street from this place and I have to say everything I’ve tried has been delicious. I really like coming here for the coffee and deserts but i think they have exceptional wraps as well. Most of the bad reviews on here are just people who seem too picky overall. I mean how many places can serve you a bomb cup of coffee and relatively healthy wrap for $ 10? Not many, at least in this area. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes flavorful dishes and tasty deserts. Definitely a place I go on a weekly basis.

I walked in, employee was on the phone, he sees me yet doesn’t acknowledge me, and continues to talk on the phone for about 4 more minutes. In that time I’m checking out the goods. Only, the goods don’t look too good. They look like they’ve been sitting out a bit. Once he’s off the phone, he does apologize, and I realize that the only thing that looks semi-descent is the strawberry tart. The cupcakes have bleeding on the frosting and the bread that I do see, looks dry. So, I pay my $ 3 for my tart, head home, open it up, and realize that the strawberry is pretty old. It’s getting to that rubbery phase. I pluck it off and start on the tart. Good taste. I think it would have been fantastic had it been fresher. But, being that I went in about 11am, I don’t know why it wasn’t fresh. Maybe they bake every few days, by the looks of things. I may give this place a second chance. I really need to go with my gut instinct on things though and just walk out if nothing looks appealing.
