My husband and I are always searching for good Mexican food and especially great tacos. It is vital to us that the restaurant uses quality meat especially for tacos and burritos. It MUST be «carne ranchera» AKA flank steak. We hate when restaurants cut corners to save a buck and use cheap chewy nasty meat. That was our experience at Sergio’s Tacos the day before. The tacos were awful! Guadalajara Express hit the mark! The meat is quality meat and their tacos were great. Try their carne asada plate. I will definitely go back.

Found this place on Unilocal one day while researching a good Mexican restaurant, I must say I was quite satisfied when I finally had the opportunity to try it. Everything was delicious from the entrée right down to the beans and rice. So far, l’ve had their wet red burrito, chicken tacos, as well as their chicken enchilada plate, all of which are exceptional plates! Portions are very generous and you can’t beat the price. Even the salsa is delicious and its SELF– SERVE! (Just don’t get too greedy). Call me crazy, but there’s something about the food here that tastes much fresher than most other Mexican restaurants, but of course don’t take my word for it.
When I’m in the mood for some good Chinese I head down to ‘Panda Express’ but if you’re in the mood for some great Mexican, head down to the ‘Guadalajara Express’ you won’t be disappointed.

Super nice staff and good food!
I am pretty picky about cheeseburgers and had not really found any great burger places that were reasonably priced by uptown until I stumbled upon this little gem. The Bacon Avocado Cheeseburger gets a A+ from me and the fries are perfectly fried and very tasty.
Icing on the cake is they offer Orange Crush and Mountain Dew on tap which is usually pretty rare to find.

Came for taco Tuesday. I’m a big fan of taco Tuesday and celebrate it as a weekly holiday. Thought I’d give this place a try and was terribly disappointed. It’s not taco Tuesday if you make your tacos bite size, I could not emphasize enough how small the tacos were. A lil warning would have been nice, I got these tacos to go ate them at home and made myself a sandwich when i was done. Meat wasn’t to great all in all would not recommend.

Found a new jewel! Mexican food and burger were fantastic! Also have nacho fries that were incredible. Received table service and he was great. Birra and molcajete were both better than expected. The building wasn’t the fanciest but it was a pleasant surprise. Will try the menudo next time.

The Molcajete, and Carne Asada Plate are both THE BEST IN L.A. — Good quality tender, moist steak meat, and homemade beans. The Molcajete is authentic, big and delicious. It has chunks of special chorizo sausage, and comes with rice, beans, and tortillas. Good prices and very friendly service all the time !!! Clean restaurant with lots of parking in the back. Right across from Whittier High School. (Take cash. $ 1 charge for credit or debit card).

This is a cute little mom and pop shop. Great customer service and the food was delicious. I had the torta ahogada with the chile on the side because it’s HELLA spicy. But none the less delicious.

Okay so I decided to give this place a try based on the Unilocal reviews. So I’m pretty convinced that the reviews were made by family & friends. The food was less than mediocre at best. The fries were good, but I guess you can’t really mess that up. Ranch dressing was more like mayo, the taquitos I ordered come with guacamole & sour cream… Let me say the «guacamole was less than sparingly placed, more like just a smear so they can say it was there, it was also brown (which means its old) the rice was hard probably because it was microwaved a few times. The horchata wasn’t mixed– try taking a sip of the sandy like mix of horchata, not good. The «famous» burgers are dry nothing special at all. So I give 2 stars for friendly staff, but we came for good food that we didn’t get. Sorry guys, need to spruce things up a bit!

Yess this is a whole in the wall spot… But it is soooo delicious! I’m very picky when itcomes to mexican, this is soo authentic! I had the chilaquiles green with steak *enter homer drooling here * to good !!! I highly recommend this place, i“ll be back for tacos ! Thank you! You were very sweet to us

For delicious Carne en su hugo this is the place to checkout.
I like places like this because it’s low key, laid back and has great service. Since it was my first visit I didn’t know what to order so many just went with the carne en su hugo and I’m so glad I did because it was amazing.
My wife had a carne asada burrito and she really likes it. Note: they can put whole beans in your burrito if requested.
If your on a budget they have great deals

Tuesday’s tacos for .75

I honestly will return and will bring my friends.

If you want great tasting and fresh authentic Mexican food this is the spot for your tastebuds and great on your wallet too! The staff is super cool and friendly as well. The spot is a little tight due to size but it’s still big enough to fit a good group of hungry peeps!

I randomly decided to try this place and am so glad I did. The staff is very nice and the food is great! If you’re looking for real Mexican food, look no further. It’s a small hole in the wall place and I hope it gets the recognition that it deserves.
You can find almost any Mexican dish here. I will gladly return again to try out more and more of their dishes. Glad to see this place around the community.
