So me and my boyfriend have lived 4 min away from this place for two years now and literally had no idea it existed! I was extremely disappointed in the chips(It seemed almost like they spilled pounds of sugar and bleach cleaner in them) and salsa(which had no spice) but the chicken tortilla soup was AMAZING! Best chicken tortilla soup I have ever had. I also had the Durango burritos and they were so tasty! Compared to most other Mexican restaurants this place actually seasons the steak very nicely and does not over cook the meat! The prices are great and the service was ok.(Our waitress was nice just didn’t seem like she wanted to be their). The food was so great besides the chips that it deserves 4 stars.

Good portion size here. They serve adult beverages but they don’t have a bar. The dining room is very tight and the have outside tables as an option(if you want to sit in a strip mall parking lot to eat) but it makes the front door really busy with no waiting area. The service is friendly and prices are fair. I did notice that takeout portions are much smaller that dine in of the same item. The table salsa is tart with minimal seasoning and very thin in consistency :0( I had the Carnitas with rice and beans. The pork was cooked well and the chunks were large BUT there was way too much fat. It’s a location where there are not many options unless Taco Bell is your kind of Mexican food.

Wow. We were driving through town and needed a place to grab lunch. Looked this place up and saw that it got good reviews so we went. It did not disappoint. The reviews were right. The food is super fresh and tasty. Staff is friendly and the service is great. Sad I don’t live in the area or I would go more often.

I love eating here, and when I used to live in Whitsett, it was a once a week restaurant. My only complaint is that most of the portions are rather small and the prices are pretty steep for Mexican food. I would still recommend it.

This chain of two(Whitsett/Stoney Creek and Burlington) serves typical Tex-Mex as we know it. You could compare a place like this to the La Fiesta locations(3) in this area. Everything from the menu to chips and salsa is typical. This location is very small and doesn’t have a lot of seating. I do like that they have six tables outside. I have no clue if these two stores are affiliated with the prepackaged guacamole that you can buy in stores pretty much anywhere in the country. I am assuming not. I have only had lunch here maybe 20 times over a number of years. The lunch menu has items all under $ 10 so that is usually a price point to gauge how much you will spend when you pop in. When I go to places like this, I usually order their version of an ACP but I didn’t this time. I got the ultimate nachos(9.75) with chicken. Wholly(see what I did there) crap this was a ton of food. It comes with refried beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and tomato. This tasted ok but I thought it needed more chicken as it was mostly lettuce and beans. I would revert back to what I normally get. It wasn’t bad, but not my favorite. I have had better versions of «gourmet» nachos. About this place in general. The Good: 1)Great place for lunch as your food comes out quick and has each time I have been here. My food came out about four minutes after I ordered. Yes I pay attention to stupid things like this. So if you are one of those folks who have a time constraint, you could do it. 2)Service has always been attentive and to the point. Never been a problem. 3)Location is awesome as it is right off of I40 at exit 135. There isn’t much by way of competition in the area. The Not So Good: 1)Small menu. If you really did compare it to another«chain» like La Fiesta, their menu is limited and maybe a tad pricier too. From an alcohol standpoint, there isn’t a bar and what they offer in this department is limited as well. 2)Tiny, and I mean tiny, place. Maybe 15 ish tables inside and during lunch hours, it gets crazy and loud. It feels cramped too as you walk in and out. Have claustrophobia? Don’t come here. Another one of those places that if you take it for what it is, it would work for you. Don’t expect ambiance or setting. It is a place to get your typical Tex-Mex working and do it quickly.

Definitely will not be returning. My first time trying this restaurant, the service was not great but the real issue was the food and drinks. I order the Chile relleno and chicken chimmichanga with beans and rice. This plate was a complete soup full of tomato sauce and cheese sauce. I am a huge fan of cheese but they definitely over did the cheeses sauce. I also had ordered a Mr. Pib but I returned that quickly due to an extreme scent and taste of bleach in my cup. I then still trying to give the place a chance stayed for dessert so I tried the Freshly made Tres Leche Cake well the cake came out frozen. This was one of the worst dinning experiences I have encountered the far.

My husband and I have been here a few times and we love it. They have another location in Burlington that’s just as good. Food is always fast, fresh and delicious. They have a huge menu. Staff is pleasant and attentive. Totally recommend the wholly guacamole and the margarita pitchers. Free chips and(good) salsa. You won’t leave hungry. We did have an issue with the manager here once, he was rather rude when we had a groupon mix-up. It put a bit of a bad taste in our mouths, but not so much so that we won’t be back.

Very authentic soup de pollo! Would live to have tried today! s parole! Salsa and chips are excellent! Guacamole is good. Large portion. Quiet, small, with pleasant staff. Will return! Like the quiet Mexican music. When changed station to song Womanizer it wrecked the ambiance!

I am really glad that I gave this place a second chance. On my first visit, I ordered the lunch chicken fajitas. I did not enjoy my lunch. With all the great reviews, I had to give it a second try. On my most recent visit, I ordered the chilaquilles. It was awesome! The salsa is pretty tasty, as well. I will be back when I am working in the area.

We were somewhere between Greensboro and Burlington when my wife decided she was hungry. The only non-chain option on the sign that we saw was«Wholly Guacamole». Good enough. We pulled off to investigate. I didn’t have the Unilocal app handy(I was driving), so we landed in the parking lot on blind faith. The logo looked like a chain. Was this a lesser known version of Moe’s? Nope. Just a delicious Mexican restaurant hiding in a strip mall near the grocery store. Offerings tend toward the less authentic or Tex-mexy. That’s not a bad thing, if done right. I counted eight different types of quesadilla that you can order. Eight. Five types of nachos. Really? That’s impressive. There are more traditional offerings like pollo con arroz that let you know that they know their stuff. But they also know the local crowd. And this crowd wants Tex-mex or even just plain olé’ American. On the back of the menu, I noted«healthy dining» options that included Salmon. Salmon at a Mexican restaurant. That is a first. And if it’s anything like the meal we had, it’s delicious. Just because I like authentic Mexican food, doesn’t mean I’m above ordering nachos. They delivered a heaping pile with grilled chicken, shredded cheddar + hot queso, and a generous serving of jalapenos. My wife’s marinated chicken quesadilla was equally excellent. And she’s not one to comment much. I had a taste. Very good. The salsa here also provoked some remarks. It tasted less acidic, and more smoky and subtle. Not sure what they do differently, but it’s working. Oh, and the Guac? Not chunky, like I prefer it, but smooth and delicious. Our waitress was nice, the service was excellent, kitchen quick, and they were kind enough to offer us a drink for the road. If you find yourself hungry on I-40, and passing by a little place called Whitsett, then stop in here. It’s worth a visit.

I found this restaurant on Unilocal and it lived up to all the positive reviews! Great food, great service, pleasant atmosphere and reasonable prices. I thought the balloons were just part of the decorations until I saw the servers giving them to children after they finished their meal. Also, they have a great sanitation score!

Great salsa, margaritas, and some of the best service. Food is always hot and arrives quickly. Great lunch or dinner spot. Try the quesadilla with grilled chicken instead of shredded. So convenient for us whitsett folk.

My wife, daughter and I came here for Cinco de Mayo and as you might expect the place was very busy. However, the service didn’t suffer at all. We needed a few extra moments to decide what to eat and the wait staff was very patient. During the meal our drinks were refilled several times. Very attentive service without being overbearing. I ordered the chicken fajitas and was very impressed with the portion of meat, onions and peppers I received, plus it came to the table hot and sizzling, just the way I like it. I wasn’t able to try the taco or tostada that my wife ordered or the burrito or quesadilla that my daughter ordered as I was too full. However both said their food was pretty good. Everything was reasonably priced, and a good value.
