I’m really glad this place is here. It’s just too expensive.

All my favorite brands that are often hard to find. Lydia’s, Beanitos, Tempt hemp milk(even the unsweetened!), Real Salt, Coconut Bliss, and so much more. Bulk section with spices and their own custom tea blends. All kinds of flours, pancake mixes, mixed nuts, dried fruits, and even pour your own maple syrup. Really great seasonal produce and free range meat and sustainable fish. There was more variety packed in that store than my Whole Foods at home.

As a San Franciscan I am very spoiled when it comes to good markets to shop for fresh organic produce. On my recent visit to Whitefish I was elated to find this market. Small, but packed to the brim, Third St Market had everything I needed, from hot organic tea, fresh fruit(the figs were amazing), bulk nuts, a great variety of chocolate, coconut milk, and a well stocked selection of natural medicines. This place is such a welcome site. It gives me hope that even small conservative towns are finding ways to be better to themselves and the earth. They had a great selection of meats and cheeses as well(though I didn’t purchase any since I was staying at a lodge). I will indeed go back when I return to Whitefish.

I don’t know what that guy is talking about. There is no Vons in Whitefish. Also no health food store south of town… Third street market is awesome. The vegetables are fresh organic and local, local dairy products too. The staff has an unreal knowledge of the supplements they carry and they are always friendly and happy to see you. Third street is the only place we really go for our produce, etc. And truly, while it may be a small store, they have everything that you need for your grocery shopping. Fast fact: There is NO Whole Foods in NW Montana, so get over it and quit comparing stores to it!

Typical co-op style natural food store. Watch the expiration dates on the packaged foods though. I bought soy yogurt, but it turned out to be a gloppy, yellow mess that had been sitting on the shelf quite awhile. If you’re in the mood for healthy food or vegan alternatives, check out the healthy food section at Safeway or Super1.
