Service is amazing. Portions huge. Brunch was perfect: Eggs benedict with huge slab of ham, steak and eggs perfectly cooked. Dinner: Burger big and juicy, fish and chips(upgrade to garlic Parm fries) some of the best I’ve ever had.

Food is always great and quick, but the service is always awful :-(((We keep giving them a chance and today was the worst yet.

I wish i could say more positive things about this restaurant, but i did not my enjoy my experience here. The food was only decent, something that can be made much better at home. The service was not something I can compliment on. But i will be back again for a second try because maybe it was just a hit and miss. All the previous reviews are good too.

This update is to expand on my prior reviews. The team at the Buffalo has managed to remain impressivly consistent over the years. Lets get the negatives out of the way. The prices, like most things in Whitefish, are geared for tourists Dollars. Noteworthy deals and happy hour specials are largely nonsexist. Since most of the business owners have chiseled out there little niches. So competition is a rarity in this little town. If it exists at all. Burgers run about 11 – 12 Dollars each. They offer a fantastic and ever changing local tap beer selection. Aiming for quality not quantity. So you can count on the beer being fresh. Figure about a 20% tip since that is the unspoken 15% in Whitefish. So by the time your said and done, two burgers, a few beers and a tip will run you 60 Dollars or more. I can do a lot for that money. The crowds seem to have found the Buffalo more so than in the past. So be prepared for a wait during peak Winter and Summer seasons. During shoulder season the locals start to creep back into town after the crowds have gone. Flocking to there favorite eateries. The Buffalo definitely being one of those spots. All in all the front of the house staff remains exceptional. Back of the house staff seems to be content pushing out consistently good quality dishes. Docking one star for inflated pricing. This is a Whitefish problem which the Buffalo is a proud participant.

Bar none one of the best places to eat in town. Friendly, efficient service. Consistently excellent food. You can’t go wrong. Only problem is that it’s so popular you sometimes have to wait.

We all had hamburgers and fries. They were incredible. Quick, Nice and friendly service. Try the Good Medicine burger with parmesan cheese fries. We also had the peach huckleberry pie and a PBJ milkshake. Outstanding! Great value.

Whitefish, MT has not disappointed when it comes to cuisine. We are having breakfast at the Buffalo Café currently and it is no exception. The Denver burrito is excellent. Be sure to try the locally brewed root beer. YUM!

This was a very quaint restaurant with nice staff, but I wish the food had been better. There was way too much cheese in my scrambled eggs and the hashbrowns had no texture or taste.

We only had breakfast here but it was one of the best breakfast places I’ve been to in a long time. Service was awesome, and the food amazing. It’s worth the wait to get in.

I had the chicken pesto and it is a must have. French dip was great and my son said the burger was the best he ever had. Great wedge cut crispy fries I would eat here again for sure.

My wife had the fish and chips and said they were the best she had ever had. That is saying something as we go to the coast a lot. I had a beef stoganoff dish that was also outstanding. They also have a local root beer on tap that is just outer space it is so good. The price was modest compared to the astounding quality of the food. If you are in the area(Kalispell /Whitefish etc.) eat here. You will be glad you did.

My dad has been raving about this place for years. We showed up about 445 waiting for them to open and perused the book shop next door. I ordered the fish(don’t remember what kind, Tilapia maybe?) tortilla wrap. It was fresh and crisp and pleasing to the palate after a day of hiking and being out in the sun. None of us ordered alcohol, we were just thirsty for water which was kept amply full our entire visit. I’d say my sister, dad and I are all foodies(he loves Food Network travel shows and we are both Unilocaler/social media mavens). This place didn’t disappoint on the food front. Service was brisk and friendly, not brusque or rushed. The joint filled up pretty quickly so early arrival isn’t a bad thing. After dinner, I told him«you didn’t overhype this place.» He was happy, I was happy and then we wandered over to Sweet Peaks.

We enjoyed breakfast here back in 2014 and it has the same staff and great offerings. My favorite granola pancakes are still available on request, but it forced me to try other great options. Using fresh vegetables in their omelets really adds to the flavor. Always a favorite place to head to.

Our first night here — we were standing in front of Loula’s. one of the friendly locals said it was good but his favorite was the Buffalo café. This our second time at Buffalo café this week. The Clark fork wrap is our favorite– we’ve ordered it both times with the house vegetable — roasted carrots that were out of this world. The burgers are huge and I heard they are the best in town. Fish tacos looked yummy too! We may be back again before we leave. Great staff!!!

The menu is very diverse and it was hard to choose. We both had the spinach salad with the strawberries and candied pecans — yummy! One had the haddock tacos and the other the prawn tacos(guess we were in a taco mood!) Both were uniquely prepared and delicious. The prawn ones had nice heat. The beans and rice were just ok. Our server was friendly and efficient. Overall a nice meal. August 2014
