They are knowledgeable about heating and cooling systems. They have repaired problems other companies couldn’t fix.

We love these guys. We used Potter Heat and AC for years. They installed our GEOTHERMAL unit which we had a ton of problems with. After thinking maybe Potter did not know what they were doing we decided to get a second opinion. We were referred to So Pride by a friend. We tried them. Omg we were impressed. I provided the tech that came out with all the receipts for prior repairs and he looked at the system. He said after all these problems Water Furnace will replace this system with a new one at virtually no cost to you. Skeptical I’m like ok and why and how much. The unit apparently had a special offer from Water Furnace because other had a lot of problems with that particular model and they offered this to resolve. So we had the unit replaced and it cost us around 3500. The unit was 20,000 originally. The new unit is much more energy efficient as our electric bill is 200 less a month and most of all we love that it is super reliable. We own two businesses two and they now service our stores. The heat went out at one. We knew the unit was on its last leg. They came out and had to condemn it and had a new one up and running in less than 24 hours. This required a crane and a slew of workers to go on the roof in 20 degree weather. Lars is one of their techs and we just love him. Look no further. Not sure about these other reviews honestly I was baffled when I read them.

We have had a contract with this company for over 5 years for our rental home and made a yearly payment to them in October of 2014. In January of 2015, the heat stopped working. We called during normal working hours for over 4 hours and they never answered their phone. We needed up calling another company which was great. I do not recommend this company at all! as this is not the first problem we have had with their service.

I called Southern Pride to fix our AC when the fan went out on our outside unit. They were responsive and made it there the next day on time, within the 4 hour window they provided. The technician initially replaced the capacitor. After about an hour, the fan stopped again, so I had to call them back to get the technician back out. He was able to make it the same day. My grievance is on the way they charge. They have a HUGE markup on their parts. They charged me $ 90 to replace the initial capacitor then wrapped that into the price of the fan motor($ 289) which was a total charge of $ 379 for materials. I went online after reluctantly paying the bill and found the fan motor $ 60-$I00 cheaper; Not a big deal and I can live with that. I later called a friend in the HVAC business the next state over. I gave him my AC unit’s model # and serial # so he could research the whole sale cost. Bottom line, they charged me $ 379 for what cost them $ 99.95($ 97.44 Fan Motor + $ 2.51 for the capacitor). I understand markups is part of their business but this seems excessive(almost 300%). Labor was added on top of that($ 80). Pros: Responsive and fast service. Cons: Did not take the time to properly diagnose the problem so may have replace parts that did not need replacing. Deceptively inflates their charge for materials to make Labor cost look better than it really is. Did not provide itemized billing. Recommendation: Google research cost of parts online before paying the bill. Get part numbers off of the NEW parts/boxes. Their charges left me hot. I do not plan on using them again.
