Poor service. Waitstaff looks miserable. Our waitress charged us for a side even though in the menu the entrees say they come with a side! When we tried to get it off the bill she like pretended she couldn’t hear us through the blasting music and refused. The food was good but it’s not worth getting overcharged and yelling to have a conversation!

Great place to go for happy hour. MAKESURETOGETTHEREEARLY, otherwise no seating for you! Must try their Mojitos or Sangria which are delicious and they use a generous amount of alcohol. Every single appetizer on the happy hour menu you can eat and be satisfied. The prices are phenomenal, almost a steal! The staff are awesome and the talented DJ will seal the deal and have you return for more.

That act like they own street parking. Don’t let them do that to you. Also, the music is way too loud.

Poor service. My husband ordered a Cuban sandwich, seems thhe chef had no idea those sandwiches should include pickles! If we hadn’t called the waiter over he wouldn’t have bothered to come over to ask if we needed anything else. Would I go back. .absolutely NOT!

Came in for New Years Brunch with my girlfriend — safe to say we’re not coming back for a while. I don’t know if it was just the time or day, but the service was awfully slow. Although seated right away, our waiter — Miguel — did not come to ask us for drinks until about 15 minutes in. Unenthusiastic and almost seemingly reluctant, he asked us for drinks, in which I ordered a single mimosa while my friend stuck with water. Drinks came fast, as they had a happy hour special going around. The mimosa was a little flat, but still satisfying and well-balanced. We were ready to order by the time our waiter asked us for drinks. When he came back with the mimosa he did not ask, and before I could he scurried off and was nowhere to be found for another 10 minutes. In that time I noticed that another couple was seated, given a drink menu that we were not, asked for drinks, and had their orders taken. The only menu available today was their New Years Brunch menu with no alternative menu, which I had no problem with even though it had limited choices. I chose the tripleta sandwich($ 12) as my friend opted for a classic steak and eggs($ 18). After our waiter came back from the depths of everywhere but our table, we ordered. And waited. And waited. And waited. Somewhere in the 30 – 40 minute range, because I had to go back and put more time in my meter. I realized he was serving another table of two young ladies next to us their unlimited mimosas… but he was also flirting with them. Yes, he was flirting — didn’t seem so unenthusiastic with them. About 10 of those 30 minutes was him flirting with these ladies. At the end of their conversation, I noticed him speed walk to the kitchen and finally deliver us our food. The tripleta sandwich was undeniably delicious — a combination of ham, steak & chicken with Swiss cheese with a side of home fries. The bread was admittedly a bit soggy, but the flavor made up for it. A true definition of comfort food. My friend enjoyed her steak and eggs with home fries, giving compliments to an exceptionally juicy steak. The only problem with our food? It was cold. Not cold-cold, but the kind of cold where it’s been-sitting-out-for-at-least-5-minutes-and-you-notice, cold. As much as I’d like to give 3 stars for the food quality, much of our experience here is pushing for 2. Like I mentioned, maybe it was the wrong timing. Maybe even the possibility of a different waiter would have changed this review entirely… but — Pros: good food, decent drinks(based on the one I had) Cons: slow service, flirty waiter, a little pricey Not returning any time soon.

I bought sancocho last night, it was good but not worth the price. I paid $ 15 and is so much $ for what you get. They did not even put on the side white rice as they usually do at other restaurants, which is included in the order. I won’t ever buy from here again too much money to spend for just a bit. I give 3 stars bc the food was ok

The happy hour bites are amazing. The red sangria is a winner. Ask the bartender to mix the white sangria with the red sangria… amazing!

Short version: Go for the drinks, find food elsewhere. Long version: The gem of this place is the drinks. Go for happy hour, that’s really the only time it’s worth it. Their mojitos and margs are absolutely killer. I’m a big mojito person, and this is probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Food is good, but very pricey for what you get. $ 10 guacamole app game with 7 chips. Literally 7. And about ¾ cup of guac. Good guac though. Honestly, I don’t go here for dinner anymore. It’s an awesome spot to meet up to start the night, get a couple of kickass mojitos, and then move elsewhere. There are better options for food in WP.

Although you can grab lunch at Sofrito, to me this place is nice for dinner and nightlife. You can walk-in or make reservations– either or, works just fine. Interior is very spacious with simple, neutral décor throughout. Friday night and Sofrito is pumping even in their main dining room. Sofrito also has a softer, smaller dining room in the back where it’s not as busy. It has a downstairs lounge, with music, hookahs and a full bar. Mr. Man decided to come away from the hustle and bustle of the fist-pumping crowd and have dinner in the more relax environment. Fine. I almost felt as if I was in a spa: walls were of sage green, bamboo adorns the walls in a very asymmetrical pattern. Cool. Dig it. But…I have to b*tch it out, once again… Please– I don’t mean to offend or insult the Puerto Rican population-Why the hell do these so-called, nouveau Puerto Rican restaurants have to charge bookoo money for fried plantains and chicken??? Don’t get it. But damn. Nonetheless, Sofrito is a good spot to hang out with your friends and dance.

Decent Puerto Rican cuisine. Nice atmosphere… quite Caribbean with the simple large white décor: furniture, drapes, walls, etc. The bar is long and can get fun. Can get quite loud, but that’s the Latin experience, and I like it. I frequent the original Sofrito in NYC, but this one in White Plains is considerably more subdued. Service is good, and the layout is open and airy. The food is tasty… and yes, you will find traditional PR cuisine. Drinks are never a disappointment. They have an outdoor seating area which is nice in the summer nights. The windows are floor to ceiling, and the open up… gives a somewhat«beachy» feel to the place. I’ve had lunch and dinner here. When I’m int he mood for tasty PR cuisine, it’s Sofrito!

Went with a group in the middle of the week. Bar was full. Food was so rich… but in a good way. The flavors were«BANGIN’» my party ordered piononos and calamari for appetizers, the pernil, which btw is huge(You could probably share and make it for two) the ropa vieja and the tilapia(no complaints!)And I had the Mofongo with the Chicken stew and boy was I happy! Super delish. Service was really good. Décor was a mix of contemporary and modern. Not a fan of the cushion wall, my one and only negative comment.

Wow!!! Fantastic Puerto Rican restaurant in White Plains. I love Latin American food — I lived in Brazil and Mexico — so any chance I get to revisit the cuisine I take advantage of it. So when I saw Sofrito’s near the hotel I had to check it out. We started with the empanadas — chicken and beef. Chicken were a little dry — the beef were perfect. Ropa Vieja was next — perfect! Little thicker than expected but the flavor was spectacular. Rice and beans a little dry but still a anice side to the Ropa Vieja. And for dessert — orange flan with gran mariner. Oh my goodness — great texture and flavor. A must try. Service very efficient and friendly — willing to answer questions about the menu. Atmosphere definitely casual. Other reviews mentioned the music — must admit this is true. If you don’t like salsa or merengue played at a pretty loud level you are going to be a bit miserable. Kinda South Beach if you know what I mean. Loved the food — would come back if I were ever again in the area.

I really enjoy this place. The music and atmosphere are great. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is good. I try to get something different from the menu each time but seem to always fall back on the churrasco. The seasoning is amazing! Best steak ever. Definitely a must go. It’s my absolute favorite Spanish rest.

Food is amazing; went for dinner and lunch and had no complaints in the past. however I was thrown a surprise baby brunch here Sunday and our service was ridiculous. They claimed because of a huge bday party in the back but for reservations for large parties wouldn’t you have more wait staff come in. Got there late and appetizers weren’t even served nor was bread for the table. Then we had to wait another 45 mins for our entrees that came out all wrong most of the table sent their food back and my piña colada French toast was cold coming out. Great food but service was not okay & there excuse was poor. After several complaints we did get free dessert but guest traveling from jersey & conn were not happy about the experience

A nice place to have some Latin food in White Plains. I had the Sofrito Sushi and the Ropa Vieja! The Sushi was a bit small. The rolls could of been a bit bigger. The Ropa Vieja was good but it could of been better. The service was good and the bar area was and spacious.

Came here for the first time last night(Tuesday). Absolutely loved the décor and music playing. It wasn’t crowded and we were seated right away. I had the Spanish and chino Latino rolls and my date had the red snapper. We also shared the baked chicken bites with garlic mojito. Everything was delicious. I LOVED the red sangria and the bartender, Jared, is super friendly and makes great drinks. I think our server could’ve been more attentive. He didn’t check on our table until the very end of our meal. The manager came over for two seconds and asked how things were but didn’t introduce himself. He then sat down with the group who were sitting next to us who he obviously knew. Lastly, I reserved our table through Open Table(yes, we all want those points!). The hostess never checked me in so I was considered a «no show». I never just skip on my reservations and don’t like that open table was notified of that. I called this morning and spoke with Melanie who was rude and clearly annoyed that I wanted them to correct this. Not even the point of the check in or points, but this girl needs to adjust her attitude and learn the definition of customer service. I’m supposed to be getting a call back regarding this. We’ll see. I really enjoyed the ambiance and overall experience here. I think this restaurant would do much better with a more attentive, friendly staff.
