There is an especially unwelcoming vibe here on weekends. They do something here on weekends that I have never seen in any other restaurant. I have seen it done to others. I have had it done to me. A sloppily dressed, bored looking, young hostess with no people skills asked me and asked others if we had reservations — in a completely empty restaurant — then said she would try to seat us, but… get this… told each party that we had to be done within a set time frame because the table was reserved. This happened more than once. WHODOESTHAT?! Tacky, tacky, tacky!!! It comes across like your money is not good enough… the customers who are there are not good enough. Everything is for the people who are coming… the«right» people. Shame, shame, shame.

I wanted to counter some of the very bad reviews here. My husband and I just returned from a very nice Sunday night dinner, using a Groupon. We were treated exceptionally well by the wait staff and manager, who came to our table multiple times to ask if everything was all right. Our waitperson and the bus people were all extremely attentive and professional. And they knew ahead of time that we were using a Groupon, so this was not an issue in the least. The food was all very good to excellent. I started with the tuna tartare, which was very tasty, and my husband had the mussels, which was a very generous portion. I had the fish of the day, which was salmon, and it was excellent. I’ve had $ 40 salmon dishes that were not as nice as this one, which was included in the price of the Groupon. My husband had the hanger steak, which was on a lovely bed of salad greens, and he said it was perfect. The bottle of wine that was included in the Groupon was quite nice for a house wine. We had the panna cotta for dessert, which was not included in the Groupon, but we were really glad we tried it, as it was a nice finish to the meal. I had almost been frightened away from redeeming our Groupon by the bad reviews, but I am SO happy that we went ahead and tried Grace’s Table. We will definitely return, at full price :).

I second every posting on here about bad service and surly owners of Grace’s Table. Long short: I will never grace«Grace’s Table» with my presence and will encourage everyone I know to do the same. Here is my story. On January 13th, I made a reservation for Grace’s Table for Valentine’s Day(for a Thursday) for a Groupon that was valid for Sunday to Friday. Valentine’s Day is a notoriously difficult date to get a table, which is why I made the reservation early. THEGROUPONHADNORESTRICTIONSOTHERTHANAVAILABILITY, but just in case, in my reservation(done on line), I indicated that I intended to use a Groupon and should they have an issue with that, to let me know. They accepted my reservation, which I was require to confirm. Three weeks later, when it will be impossible to get a reservation anyplace else, someone called to tell me they would not honor the Groupon. I asked to speak to the manager/owner, a Mr. Trama, and was told to call back the following night. I dutifully did and Mr. Trama refused to speak to me and through his employee said he would not honor the Groupon even though it has NOEXCLUSIONS and he had already ACCEPTEDMYRESERVATION. I contacted Groupon who confirmed the owner was refusing to honor the Groupon; the reason they provided was that they decided to do a pre fixe menu on Valentine’s Day and so won’t allow the Groupon. Honestly, if they has planned to do prix fixe menu, they should have put that exclusion in the Groupon, which simply says: «Valid only for option purchased. Reservation required; subject to availability. Dine-in only. Not valid for lunch Saturday or Sunday. Menu subject to change seasonally.» To me, this is simply a menu change. Many other Groupons specifically exempt holidays and that is what they should have done. Alternatively, they should have declined my reservation when I made it(referencing the Groupon), rather than waiting 2 weeks. And finally, when a potential customer asks to speak to a manager about a decision he has made, he should speak to that person! So long short, I will never grace«Grace’s Table» with my presence and will encourage everyone I know to do the same. I have no interest in ever dining at a restaurant where the owner makes a decision to decline a previously accepted reservation but refuses to speak to the customer.

I love this restaurant. Great atmosphere and service. Special shout out for the burratta mozzarella with heirloom tomato, the tuna tartare and the panna cotta last night. Would also recommend the Kunde Chard and SVC Pinot.

Sunday night may be a problem, but service was abominable. For starters, we used a groupon which was scanned immediately. The restaurant was not busy and they sat us next to the bathrooms. We requested to move to another table. No problem. Not another diner came into the place after us(so why put us at the worst table in the house?). The waiter was amatuerish, but well meaning. It wasn’t his fault that they were out of the pork belly appetizer(although he might have told us when he was reviewing the specials). It wasn’t his fault that they were out of the wine either even though the wine list is short. Now for the meal… the kitchen is doing a lot right. We had a delicious meal. The only gripe was luke-warm coffee. Now it’s time for the check. It arrives and the groupon has been ignored. I mention it to the waiter and all of a sudden this has become my problem. I should have told him that we were using a groupon. Clearly the woman and manager who greeted us at the door and scanned the groupon hadn’t told him anything. The manager agreed that they shouldn’t have left him in the dark, apologized and walked away. We won’t be back because of the service. A shame really. The food is worth a visit, but the service needs an overhaul — at least on a Sunday night.

The prices are quite pricey but that is expected if I am receiving quality food. That is not the case here. The food taste VERY mediocore. What I mean by medicore is I can go to Pathmark, pick up a pack of frozen hor d’oeuvres from the freezer section and the taste between Grace’s Table’s appetizers and a pack of brandless hor d’oeuvres will be quite similar. I knew this place was so empty for a reason. I won’t be back

Just visited on Sunday night with my whole family(six of us). My sister had been telling us for weeks how good the restaurant was. From the moment we walked in, the service was very poor. There was nobody there to greet us, we awkwardly waited in the entryway until the waitress finally saw us. Unfortunately, the experience just kept getting worse. My father’s dish was served wrong twice. But more disconcerting than that it not being the right order, the manager(or owner, not sure), who was standing next to our table when the waitress delivered the second incorrect dish, just turned and walked away when it was pointed out. He didn’t apologize, comment, or anything, just gruffly walked away. They did comp the dish on the check, but when we walked out, the mgr/owner didn’t say a word to acknowledge what happened. That type of poor communication and management makes me wonder what else is being handled incorrectly. The waitress, when taking the plates after the meal, pulled the cutlery out of the dishes each time before picking up the dirty plates, splattering oils. Some clam sauce got on my sister’s cashmere sweater. The food was fair. But we will never go back. They lost six customers that night. Too many other local options, where the leadership welcomes our business.

Good healthy looking food. My friends and I came here for a lunch on a Thursday afternoon and it was pretty empty. I think there were like 2 other tables filled. They offer a $ 12 lunch menu, which is a pretty good deal. For apps, we shared an order of crispy calamari, which was good but nothing outstanding. It tasted like your typical fried calamari. One of my friends ordered the Grilled Organic Salmon BLT. Her sandwich smelled a bit fishy, but she said it tasted fine. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast sandwich. They’re both panini style sandwiches. I think they heated my friend’s sandwich first because my sandwich smelled quite fishy too; although it also tasted fine. My other friends enjoyed their Butternut Squash Ravioli and Rigatoni Bolognese. Overall the food here is okay. Aside from the fishy smell, i have no other complaints about the restaurant.

Was here on a date night with my fiancé. This is a house which has been remodeled as a restaurant and the ambience was warm, friendly and very traditional. We started with crab cakes and tuna tartare and both the dishes were delicious. The presentation was also very nice. For the main course I got trout over couscous and garlic spinach and the fiancé got some duck. I loved my dish and since I don’t like duck did not try the other one. So well no comments on that. We finished off with a Pena square topped with vanilla ice cream. I have never had a dessert more yummy than this one. Overall a great experience and a must visit.

My companions and I normally vote on who ordered the winning meal, but at Grace’s Table we declared a 3-way draw. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed every morsel of everything we ordered(grilled baby octopus, crab cake, butternut squash ravioli, pork chop w/a creamy parmesan polenta that was exquisite, truffled fries, caramel/vanilla/chocolate ice cream & coffee). With all that, only the strawberry butter was unnecessary, considering the bread was quite average, and not warmed. The back room was relatively quiet and very pretty. The service was attentive and well-timed. It’s on our«will return again» list.

Upon first glance, I was impressed with the décor and atmosphere of Grace’s Table, which ultimately led to the decision of trying this restaurant for dinner. We sat down, and were served some good bread with two types of butter. One normal, and one strawberry. Practical? Maybe not, but I thought it was creative. We had to hunt down our waiter to order drinks and appetizers, so I could tell the service was going to be a serious letdown from the beginning. I ordered the Blue Point Toasted Lager, they were all out. Ok, it happens, I can adjust accordingly. Then I ordered the confit of duck quesadilla. They had run out of duck confit, this is annoying. So I ordered the calamari instead. After 10 minutes of waiting, we asked our waiter where the appetizers were. He forgot to put the calamari order in… great! It came a few minutes later. The breading was good, but the actual calamari was far too chewy. Then after a long wait, and two inquiries with our waiter, the food arrived. I ordered the tagliatelle with a braised short rib ragu. The ragu was good, but it was heavy. And there was far too much of it, pretty much drowning the tagliatelle. Terrible service, decent food, nice atmosphere. Not enough to bring me back again.

My girlfriend and I went here last night and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. My girlfriend had the Central Ave Margarita which was excellent. We both started off with a salad, I had the fall salad which was very flavorful and my girlfriend had the Burrata salad which she loved. The cheese was fresh and very tasty. For dinner I had the stripped bass which was okay. The bass could have been seasoned more, it didn’t have a ton of flavor. My girlfriend had the butternut squash raviolis which were delicious. The sauce was light and flavorful and the raviolis were cooked just right. For dessert we had the candy bar which didn’t wow us, it was just okay. It definitely needed more caramel.

my wife and i ordered the filet Mignon and the scallops as entrees, and the duck quesadilla and calamari as apps. the duck quesadilla was amazing, and the calamari was standard. the scallops were ideal. the filet was a little overcooked, but the sides were really good. our waiter was attentive and the timing was perfect. the place looked immaculately clean and everything was presented well. would return for a special occasion, since we belong to the screwed generation.

Impressive. I got takeout the first time and it was good, then came back and sat down and it was very good. It’s always comforting to know that the Chef cares about where the ingredients are coming from. I really love seeing a menu that tells me the farm where the heritage pork is from or the fact that they have a rooftop garden. The sea scallops were huge, cooked perfectly and seasoned properly. The duck was fantastic and the pork was very good. Overall, very happy with this addition to White Plains, just hope the location doesn’t detract from the fine cooking. I’m a hard grader, so 4 stars is really good.

Update: closed with a large sign in the window saying Italian restaurant coming soon(7⁄13) I have been to Grace’s Table 3 times already(once for lunch and twice for dinner). After having tried a pretty good amount of food from the menu, I think I can safely say this is one of my new favorite restaurants. Is it a little on the pricier side? Compare it proportionally to the restaurants in the area. You get an incredibly good amount of food(not too much and not too little) for maybe a couple dollars more than nearby restaurants. The quality however far surpasses other restaurants in the area — especially considering these are mostly chain restaurants that just don’t care. I have tried so far the grilled baby octopus on farro salad(AMAZING! from octopus to farro), duck quesadilla(a hands down favorite of the entire table), calamari(amazing with a sauce that’s a perfect balance) and shrimp and grits(I’ve never had better grits and I eat them a lot — they beat Bobby Flay’s shrimp and grits which were previously the best I had eaten). For entrees I have tried the pork chop with polenta and spinach(every item on the plate was perfectly seasoned and a joy), the short rib ravioli(try to find pasta better than this — it’s a dare haha) and of course the burger which is an amazing burger and worth every cent — from the roll which is the perfect type for this amazingly tender burger and all of the accompaniments. As far as sides I highly recommend the mashed potatoes(that sounds dumb I know) but as someone who prefers to make their own from a specific potato and with a specific process, these are amazing. Also, the pulled duck mac and cheese is a dream. I would be happy with just a huge bowl of that for dinner, of course I would probably also gain a lot of weight if I had it as often as I wished I do. Desserts — I definitely recommend the chocolate candy bar or the panna cotta, neither one will disappoint. Start to finish Grace’s Table is a joy. It’s gorgeous inside, very relaxed but elegant. The service is wonderful and incredibly attentive and friendly. Even the bread with the flavored butter is such a treat. My daughter who is on a specific diet as well has never had a problem eating here and the servers always cater to exactly what she needs and she usually leaves food on her plate but not here. Amazing! The quality, flavor, service and atmosphere are well worth the cost.

Quite honestly this is quite over priced and inconsistent restaurant. What was good — the pasta dish — was quite good. What was disappointing — the panini which was essentially a lot of bread — was equally underwhelming. While the server was pleasant it was unbelievably inattentive. This is reason enough for us not to go back. An $ 80+ check for lunch for two, no alcohol and pre-tip, isn’t worth it.

This has been on our last of restaurants to try ever since we saw the redecorating efforts for Grace’s Table. The restaurant had good food, but it was somewhat overpriced. We ordered the caesar salad, the duck, the tagliatelle, and ended the meal with the lemon tart and green tea ice cream. The décor was very cozy. The service was excellent — our waiter was very attentive. We will definitely go again — maybe for lunch or brunch?

Good solid food, especially the pasta with the lobster. The apps were also good. FANTASTIC wine selection. Would get five stars, but service needs some kinks works out, probably will come in time(I hope) It’s nice to see a good place filling the shoes of a restaurant space that has turned a lot of hands recently. Can’t wait to return!

About time that White Plains got a quality restaurant. I am a so called«foodie» and used to be in the restaurant business. Had dinner with a friend and we were both very satisfied with the quality and presentation of the food, the elegant décor, timing of food and prompt service. We tried the baby octopous and the burrata salad and both exceeded our expectation. The ‘special’ swordfish over delicate mushpotatoes and rooted vegetables was a winner. Thick cut, soft and succulent .We also liked the seared scallops(4 large pieces) over tasty navy beans. The decaf. cappucino needs some help(alittle milky and weak). We will definitely go back.
