This review is for Anna Pearson, the massage therapist that recently started working here.
I’ve been seeing Anna for close to 4 years now at her old location in Buffalo Grove. I have only the nicest things to say about her work, professionalism, and kindness. I usually get a hour-​long massages and leave refreshed and filled with energy! I often have back and shoulder pain and it all disappears after a session with her.
Wish there were 10 stars to give! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for pain relief or just relaxation!

I had purchased a Groupon from Serenity Hair and Spa for a haircut, and a hair mask treatment. I hadn’t had my hair cut in years and I was very nervous. My hair was very long, just about to my lower back.
When I called to make an appointment, I told the person that answered the phone that I had a Groupon. When I arrived at my appointment, I told the receptionist that I had a Groupon, and I told the stylist as well. No one ever said anything about it, until I tried to pay AFTER MY SERVICES, that the owner told me that he does not accept Groupons. Does he not tell his staff this? I wouldn’t have come to the salon if I knew that. He gave me a «discount» and told me to try to get my money back from Groupon.
I waited awhile for my stylist to be ready, and when I finally did meet her, she wasn’t very friendly. She told me, «I don’t have time to do a haircut AND a hair mask treatment.» Ummm, but when I made the appointment, I told them that that’s what I was going to be getting, so why didn’t they A) tell the stylist and B) schedule enough time for both things? She told me that another stylist would get my hair mask done while she worked on someone else’s haircut. The other stylist barely said 2 words to me while she did this. She washed my hair, and out on the mask. She had me sit under the heat setting machine, and also wasn’t very friendly. She did offer me a glass of water, and that was about as friendly as she got.
When they were ready for my haircut, they asked what I wanted to have done. I showed her a picture on my phone, and she basically told me that unless i flat ironed my hair everyday, that the haircut would look awful on me. The other stylist argued with her, saying it would look fine. No actual consultation explaining what would and wouldn’t look good or the reasons for that. She pointed to about chest level and asked how that length would be. I ok’ed the length, and then she ended up cutting my hair to about my shoulders instead. I WAS FREAKING OUT INSIDE.
The haircut itself ended up looking good (which is why the review got 2 stars instead of only 1), but it was MUCH shorter than I wanted, the service was awful and I felt rushed since they didn’t schedule enough time for me. I was also angry that I had to pay for the same haircut twice, since no one bothered telling me that they wouldn’t accept the Groupon until after the services were complete.
I will not be going back to this salon.

If you are planning to get your nails done. Lona is the best. Make an appointment you will not be disappointed. My mom gets her hair done by Justyna and she has never looked better. Enjoy your day at the spa!!!
