Massage Envy – Wheeling

Other than the membership pitch, this is amazing. Jeannie was my therapist and wow! Super relaxing — very professional — I loved it. I recommend you go if you haven’t!

Though ME is a chain, the front desk staff (in particular Amanda) greet me and take care to ensure I have a great experience every time… they deliver the quality and customer experience you’d get at any fancy spa. As far as therapists, Janet is a miracle worker… since going to her I’ve been consistently free of my chronic migraines!

I had an amazing experience at the Massage Envy in Wheeling, IL that I wanted to share. Kyle was my therapist and she was fantastic. The pressure was perfect and she created a very relaxing environment. I was also greeted by Aurora at the front desk and she was very friendly and outgoing as well. All in all a perfect experience.

So I have to admit… our first time here we didn’t have such a great experience. I told them and they made it right.
I should say we love massages and get lots of massages all over the world. I am also very hard to please. I expect it to be nothing less then great. The good news is that both is us now have massages there that meet and exceed our expectations! I see Vince he has a great touch. He listens and adjusts accordingly. He is my favorite therapist! My spouse sees Olga and she loves her. We have been to many places and are not that generous when saying a therapist is great. So this is really exceptional. I even hesitated to mention their names because I don’t want it to be any harder to get in to see them. Having said that I use Unilocal to get recommendations. So I felt I also needed to share. If you’re looking for a great escape for an hour… schedule a massage at Massage Envy in Wheeling. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left was just a great experience. I was greeted warmly and professionally by the desk staff. I was ushered into a sweet little sitting room where I was offered a beverage. I filled out a very thorough questionnaire and then I met my therapist Amber. Amber is amazing. We chatted a bit and then she got to work. She applied just the right amount of pressure. Her touch was therapeutic and calming. Amber is a true professional and extremely good at what she does. If you’ve got an hour, book it with Amber at Massage Envy in Wheeling.

Been to other Massage Envy locations and this was found wanting.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Massage Envy today. I’ve had various massages by numerous therapists at different salons & spas around the Northwest Suburbs — But It is by far — worlds beyond anything I’ve experienced at Heavenly Massage. What was probably the best part was obviously the massage! My Massage Therapist was Raquel and she was beyond fantastic! Raquel was welcoming, calming, and worked each muscle in an experienced and knowledgeable way. She payed attention to what I wanted worked on, and what she felt I needed worked on. She took her time warming up the muscles before getting in deeper checking in with me as she went. And at the end I didn’t feel like I was being rushed out of the room. The girls at the front desk were kind and attentive as well. I highly recommend Raquel and would happily go back! Raquel all the way!

I have to start off by saying Danni is GREAT! I have worked in a spa for 3 years and have had MANY massages. She by far was one of top massage therapists I have ever been to. She definitely knows her stuff and listens to what your needs are for the service.

Facility is nice and clean, however the massage I had was just OK. I receive massages monthly and buy Groupons to try different places. My sister bought me a 60 minute massage for my birthday, and I was looking forward to it since I have tension and many knots in my upper back. Apparently, a 60 minute massage there is actually 50 minutes-​5 min each pre and post massage to undress/​dress. It doesn’t take me 5 whole minutes to do that; I could easily just do with a minute.
My massage therapist was nice and didn’t want to waste time, so she gave me about 2 minutes to prep myself. Her name was Sarah and I told her I want her to spend more time on my upper back and neck. The pressure she used was appropriate since I asked for a deep tissue massage, but I felt that she could’ve used more pressure in certain areas that others. She would find knots in my back and then worked on them for a few seconds until she moved onto the next area. If she truly was a LMT, she would have lingered in the specific spot to rid of the knots or use more pressure. I’ve had better massages and she was just mediocre. Her techniques were great, but the execution just wasn’t there. She also worked on my neck, and it wasn’t great at all. I’m in physical therapy school and I learned about massage techniques. She used a technique on my neck that I learned and she didn’t execute it correctly. Needless to say, I didn’t feel as relaxed as I wanted. I like to come out of massages feeling dazed and euphoric; Sarah’s gave me neither of the effects.
The desk girl was also pushy in trying to sell me a membership and seemed mad that I didn’t buy one.

I had Joseph for my massage and I’m super happy I did. One of the staff members said that he works on a lot of athletic people and it definitely showed while he was working on my hamstrings (I’m a runner). Joseph is a true professional and I can’t wait to come back for another massage from him.
Massage Envy is clean & quiet. It’s perfect for a massage that won’t cost you an arm & a leg.

In my fancier days, I used to enjoy the luxury of the downtown spas… with a price tag to match. But that was okay. I could afford it. Not anymore. So, for 3 years, I went without my beloved massages. Until I found out about Massage Envy. What a deal. Now I’m back to my monthly indulgence for half the price. I’m talking about 90 minute massages that will have you as loose as a limp noodle.
It’s nice to know that downsizing doesn’t have to mean doing without.

I read many reviews of spas in the Wheeling area and decided on Massage Envy. In the end, I was very happy with my decision.
The 1 hr massage session is actually 50 minutes, with 5 minutes to fill-​in the initial form and 5 minutes for undessing/​dressing. The place was very clean and relaxing with soothing music (waterfalls and such) in the background. My massage therapist (and boy I wish I could remember his name — he is from the south burbs, Oak Forest) was the best I’ve ever had. He pampered me with heated towels, pillows, and scented oils (none required, but his preference). I always look forward to the relaxation of a full body massage, but I’ve never fallen asleep. I can only say… it was great!
Granted, Massage Envy does not have a shower/​steam room as others have mentioned, but I feel if you need a shower after a massage, you probably needed one before you went in.
Lastly, we got the first-​time client $ 49/​1hr special (can’t beat that), and signed up for a 1 yr membership. $ 59/​1hr full body massage each month and $ 39 for any additional monthly visits. The best thing is the sessions roll over if you don’t go in monthly. So if you missed last month, you can go in twice –or– opt for a 2 hr massage this month.

Originally I went to the Wilmette location as a birthday gift. Very good massage and I saw that they opened a Wheeling location a few years ago.
I made an appointment and requested for a therapist who gave a hard deep tissue massage. I was given Nedka, and she’s been a great therapist! I thought the wellness being program was a great deal, and I signed up.
I try to book Nedka whenever I can, because she delivers in getting the kinks out of my back. If you are looking for a great environment and professional staff, Massage Envy in Wheeling is a great place.
I recommend Nedka if you are looking for a good hard massage, and she gets out all the knots. She definitely knows what she is doing.
The only thing I wish they would incorporate would be a steam shower room. Heavenly Massage in Arlington Heights had a steam shower room and what a way to finish a massage. Pure relaxation.

I love a good massage. So, when I saw that a new massage spa opened up in front of the new Westin, I knew I’d give it a try. To top it off, they were offering a $ 39 introductory offer for an hour. Can’t miss, right?
I was met at the door, seated in a nice waiting area and asked to fill out a long questionnaire asking about medical conditions, reasons for visiting, etc. Afterwords I was led into a room by my therapist. He was pretty good, concentrating on the correct spots. Overall a good massage. It turns out that the «hour» massage is 50 minutes (allowing you to «consult» and dress). I could also hear the other massage therapists chatting and laughing in the break room next door to my room. Not the most relaxing way to enjoy your hour!
Afterwords, I was asked to buy a «membership» which got you a monthly 50 minute massage for $ 59 and any additional massages for $ 39 each. Not a bad deal if you go weekly, but I don’t. Heavenly Massage is better, in my estimation. They also have a nice steam-​shower for you to use when you’re finished. The cost there is $ 49 for an hour (with coupons that are always available).
