Ledo Pizza

Ledo pizza is in an awkward location, with bad parking. However, that’s true of basically everything in the DC metro, so… That said, we had a nice meal, at a reasonable price. The server was prompt and attentive in the right ways. My wife’s salad was well made, and not just something that had been thrown together and shoved in ice water until needed. I got a pizza, made with good ingredients, and an interesting (in a good way) thin crust. It was almost crumbly. The issue I had was that the sauce was sweet enough to almost be a jam. It was much sweeter than, for example, Papa Johns, and it made it difficult to eat. My wife, who has a sweet tooth, agreed that the sugar needed to be toned down.
Overall, though, I would put it behind Pizza Stop and Stained Glass Pub (in that order) for best pizza in the region, but ahead of most other places. Also, be warned, they serve Pepsi products, probably in keeping with the too much sweetness of the pizza.

The pizza here is so addicting! I get sick quickly with slices from Pizza Hut or dominos but I could eat a large pepperoni pizza at this place.(NEEDED to say this first)
The parking at front SUCKS and it was nerve wracking to get out so next time we will park next door where the bigger lot is. So just know that.
Me and my family were seated rather quickly considering we had 8 people. The girls upfront greeted us (blushhhhh) and told us it would be about 10 minutes for a table.
When we sat, our drink order was taken rather fast (and yessssss they have beer) We ordered 2 large pizzas, one Hawaiian and one pepperoni, bbq wings and buffalo wings. the bbq wings are really freaken yummy btw.
We left extremely happy and oh yeah, we will happily come again.

I got an 8″ modem blt. It was a perfect personal size pizza. The crust was thin and crispy and the pizza was good. It wasn’t anything special but it was good. I also got the old bay wings and they looked kind of burnt. There wasn’t much seasoning on it either. I asked for all flats and didn’t get that. It also sucks that this location doesn’t deliver. I was satisfied but definitely disappointed.

Great food and service!
I recently made my first visit to Ledo’s at the request of a friend who asked me to bring her one of their pizzas. I ordered the pizza and, while I waited for it, had a delicious Italian sub made with great quality meats and cheeses.
I explained to Helen, my waitress, that I was taking the pizza to Florida! She arranged for it to be «half-​baked» and provided me with boxes for transporting it and instructions for my friend to reheat it. She was very thorough and kind in helping me fulfill this unusual request.
The manager and other staff greeted me and checked to see if I had everything I needed. It was nice to «discover» a local establishment with delicious food and friendly, attentive service.

Good pizza… enough said. Make sure you ask to have it well done, as this makes the crust nice and crispy, like a cracker with toppings!

Love Ledo’s pizza in general. Saw the excellent reviews for this location and went with my husband for an early dinner on Saturday. Excellent customer service as soon as we walk in the door. Ordered buffalo wings as the appetizers and they were really tatsty– plenty of sauce with a little crisp to the skin. We ordered our usual pizza which is pepperonin crispy bacon, sausage, and jalapenos. Pizza was so good we ate the whole thing; usually, we save some for later.

This location is like a light in a dark place. There aren’t many decent food options in the area, so we come here sometimes.
The staff is extreme friendly. I don’t usually sit down to eat here, but the to-​go orders usually come within about 10 – 12 minutes.
The food is always fresh and tasty. Their salads tend to be crisp! They’ll continue to have my business.

Love this location!!! Everyone here is so friendly & pleasant. Large cheese pizza is always my go to!!! Definitely a regular customer!!!

Haven’t been here in about 15 years, but still the same great place, and best pizza I’ve had anywhere. I had forgot just how great the pies were here… No better pizza’s anywhere!
Update: Oops, not sure I selected the right location (didn’t realize there were so many now days). But we went to the same old place in the Adelphia Plaza Shopping Center that I knew as a kid. Used to go there on Sundays and wait in line for an hour to get a table.

I am so sad to be giving this rating to Ledo’s pizza. I have LOVED this restaurant and loved the fact that they have gluten-​free pizza but for the past 5 times that we have gone now — the pizza and service just has not been good.
The last time I gave very specific instructions for the pizza. I asked for the sauce to cover the whole pizza (not extra sauce per say — just push it to the edges please and not leave it gooped in the middle) … I also asked for it to be «well done, but not burned please». I explained that this was becoming a repeat problem that never used to be. I asked for the chicken sausage and the girl indicated that they no longer carried it. Disappointed, I asked when they discontinued it as I had been out of the country for almost 6 months and had been craving this. The girl responded «we haven’t had that for over 2 years!» (now I had just had it at their restaurant the first week of December — so not true and I hate liars and she was being really flippant and rude.
I asked for the manager/​owner at that moment and they weren’t available according to the girl I was speaking to — nor was anyone else. (that should have been my warning to cancel my whole order)
I am a long time customer. The regular employees know me well. I got the price of my order and asked to pay over the phone as I was sending my daughter for the pickup and they refused. The girl again goes «well you can send your card with your daughter.» … um no — I don’t give my card to anyone … as well as the fact that my daughter was at Wheaton Mall and I was at home in Aspen Hill. I tried explaining this as well as the fact that my husband is ill and I would have to get his nurse to care for him if I had to come to pay.
She still refused to let me speak to another employee or ask the owner and had a really snotty attitude.
So, I got my husband’s home health care nurse to stay with him. I got my wheelchair out and loaded in the van and I drove to the restaurant to make the payment. When I got there, I checked the pizzas first. Neither had sauce covering the pizza to the edges … over 1 inch all the way around was left uncovered. (now this is a small size pizza too and because it’s gluten-​free, because of it’s texture, you definitely want sauce on it to be able to eat the crust. The broccoli was CHARRED BLACK!!! It was inedible. I couldn’t believe that they actually were trying to even serve it to a customer. …Esp after my instructructions.
I talked to one of the other girls. She said the owner was going to call me… but he never did.
When I got to the restaurant too the girl I spoke to on the phone was chewing gum and and again SO SO SO disrespectful to me. She has a lot to learn about customer service and respect to adults in general.
Because of the treatment from this employee and no apology from the store on top of all the hoops I had to jump through to order the pizza and get there … They have lost a long time customer unfortunately.

Today I ordered lasagne again, and was satisfied. It certainly wasn’t the best lasagne I’ve had, but was good enough that the four stars I gave it last time was what I’d do again based on today’s visit.

I consider this a very good value pizza place. Outside of some of the (more expensive) gourmet places, Ledo’s is some of the best I’ve had in the area — I refuse to patronize the super cheap PapaDominoHut type places. The basic sauce has a sweet taste, which I really like. The buffalo wings are also very good, especially when cooked «well done» to give them a bit of crisp.
My only complaint is that they will not deliver.

If you’ve never been to Ledo’s in the DMV, something is wrong with you.
Great subs, pizza, appetizers and more.
Service at this location in particular is excellent and have never had a problem with Sam (manager) or his staff. Courteous, professional and overall pleasant experience.
Also for you footy nuts, it’s a great place to watch a Champions League match midday as the hosts are always accommodating to turn on their 70′ TV.

Type of Service: Dine-​in.
Location: located off main road University Blvd. so much traffic.
Parking: few spaces up front and metered public parking in the lot next to the restaurant.
Venue: Old and outdated. Looks dirty just because it’s so old. Tables and booths are available.
Service: mediocre. That’s all I have to say.
Food: mediocre. Pizza really is their speciality because we also had the fettuccine Alfredo and their chicken sandwich and it was just. Eh.
Came here because of the variety available after leaving the lake with the family. This location doesn’t compare to the Ledo’s in College Park. Should’ve went to Ruby Tuesdays.

«Pizza» not suitable for New Yorkers.

We came in late after a day of touristing and got a pizza, salad, and sodas. The salad was fresh and what you would expect from a Caesar. The pizza was delicious but I’ll admit a little unappetizing when it came out with pools of grease on top. I feel like that was partially our fault though… we got pepperoni and sausage which obviously aren’t the leanest choices around. The crust is soft and kind of flakey on the bottom but crispy on the edges. I haven’t had a pizza quite like that but I’d order it again, maybe with some different toppings. I got a free soda for checking in on Unilocal.Service was great, the women working all checked on us and it was a super enjoyable last meal in D.C. before driving home. Our waitress even explained a safer way to walk back to the metro before we left as it was later and we had our kids with us.

Love ledo’s pizza. Never an issue with the quality of food nor the service. Call ahead is always good when you need to pick up and go. Ordered a large half pepperoni and half pepperoni and sausage. Pizza was ready as soon as I walked in the door with oooy goooy cheese and plenty of the meats. Friendly and courteous staff either in the restaurant or on the phone. If you’ve never tried ledo’s, handle ya business.

I come here for their old bay buffalo wings! So tasty!
Young an call you order on ahead of time and just pick up your food

The cashier /​attendant was really kind and apologized for keeping me waiting after she didn’t notice I was there for a few minutes. It looks like they were dealing with a large order and sorting out payment. I also observed them dropping in on tables and being good about refills so this is more than just your basic pizza joint that ignores you once the pie is out.
My three stars comes from the actual pizza. All-​in-​all it was a «meh» pizza, I ate a few pieces of a small personal
pizza and got just cheese so I could really taste it. I threw it out after 2 pieces. The crust was thiner, which I like, but not flaky or buttery like others mention. It was actually too soft and soggy for me. The sauce was also very sweet which I didn’t like. I haven’t tried the other things on the menu but I wasn’t impressed by the pizza unfortunately.

We were new to the area and had never had any crust like it when we got here almost two years ago. Now I know when we do eventually leave we’ll miss Ledos very unique and tasty cracker-​like crust.
They also rotate innovative craft pizzas throughout the year and use fresh and tasty ingredients.
While we miss our special favorites that come and go from time to time it forces us to try new ones and make new favorites.
Parking is a bear as is getting off and onto University again at the Wheaton location (and it is a local chain).
Their appetizers are also rotating and tasty/​fresh.
Same with salads.
