He did a great job. He only takes cash, but he made sure I understood this before I left my boots with him. I don’t know what all you other reviewers a complaining about, with him not accepting credit cards. You obviously don’t understand how credit card companies jack small businesses. He glued my soles back on and put some nails in them to make sure I don’t loose them again. His prices we fair too.

So I guess I should be glad this shop never took any of my shoes to get worked on based on these reviews. I have literally tried to take at least 6 pairs of shoes in to be worked on and every time I leave with the shoes in hand. I was wondering how he could function as a business turning me away every time. He’s grumpy, the shop reeks of smoke and is extremely messy.

I have heard stories from my co-workers about this guy/shop. I experienced first hand how poor his business practice was. I went to pick up my heels, gave him my claim ticket and he asks me were they boots, I told him they were shoe-boots(ankle) and he proceeds to look for them and when he finds them, he tells me I told them they were boots(making me feel like I did something wrong). I then gave him my cc and he scolded me again and said, «I told you no plastic.» All I had was $ 20 cash and wanted to pay for one of the pairs and pick up the other pair later. He quickly grabs the shoes off the counter and tells me I have to pay for both b/c the ticket has 2 pairs of shoes on the ticket. I run over to Chase to get the $ 4 I owed him. His workmanship is fair but he was just so unfriendly and unprofessional. I WILL go out of my way next time to find a different shoe repair shop or just buy a new pair…

Do not use this guy if you even remotely like your shoes! He is a pain in the @$$ to work with and does terrible work. He ruined a pair of my favorite Bruno Magli shoes. I couldn’t even believe it when I got the shoes back. I’m only hoping a real cobbler can repair the damage he did to them. The only thing you should consider him for is a last resort shine, and even that may be too complicated for him to manage.

I took a pair of my husband’s leather shoes to him to see if he could make them look better. The leather was really worn and had a big stain on the side. He took one look at them and basically told me he didn’t think he could get the stain off, that he could polish them but that was it. I said ok, asked him if he could try to get the stain out and condition them and he said no, but tried to sell me a $ 10 bottle of leather cleaner. He said to clean them and try to get the stain out myself and he would polish them. I asked him if he could clean them himself, that I was willing to pay extra for that, and if after trying it wouldn’t come off then it was ok, and he said«No, it takes too long, not worth my time». Well, I’m sorry, but what is your job supposed to be then? I was not about to pay $ 10 for a bottle of leather cleaner, go home, clean the shoes and then bring them back to be polished. What’s the point? He was also rude, but that might have been a cultural thing. Needless to say, I took my shoes somewhere else. Drive a little further and go to Mucilli’s, at least they have customer service there.

I took a pair of Dansko’s to him, a Mary-Jane style shoe that kept coming apart at a certain seam. He wanted to do it right then and there and demanded cash. I didn’t have any on me, so I offered a check or card. He made such a bunch of faces! So, I told him I would come back with cash later. Well, I guess for six dollars, what do you want? My shoes now look as though a drunken monkey repaired them. Seriously, the stitching is all wonky, the original sew-holes show and there’s gobs of glue along the seam… WTF? Plus, the guy is decidedly unpleasant and pushy, which may be a cultural thing. After shoving my shoes at me he tried to sell me some sheepskin slippers… yeah, no freaking way, mister. I have had shoes repaired many times before, and almost always they have come back nice, shined up, almost as good as new. I will not be going back to this place. He ruined my shoes. The only reason for the 2nd star is that I noticed he had a lot of special orthopedic shoes there for repair, and that is worth something.

This is a great little shop for shoe repair, or in my case getting the strap repaired on a leather«man purse». Boris is a very pleasant and funny fellow. He did great work and even repaired the zipper at no extra cost. If you need a shoe or something else repaired, give him a try. This is the kind of business I wish I could go to for everything. You know exactly who is doing the work and getting the money, and they know exactly who their customer is and treat them well.
