This is BYFAR the best gym in the entire metro area if you are in to powerlifting and body building. This is not a «fitness» gym, PX90, or an «I go to the gym every day for one hour» type fad-gym. People here TRAIN and train hard. Granted not ALL of them do, but in a general sense, members of this gym are there to WORKHARD. Yes, there is that small group of douches who walk around with invisible lats or simply inflated egos based on some grandiose body dysmorphia, but they fade in to the background. Those of us who have competed or who are simply in tune to our own fitness goals understand that everyone starts somewhere; and that seeing people make impressive changes to their physiques over time is INSPIRATIONAL to everyone. This place is literally packed with equipment, and their leg room alone is worth the membership. You CAN use chalk! YES indeed this is a genuine gym! There are a couple of odd very easily fixed draw-backs(hoping management/owners take it in to consideration) which is why I can’t honestly give it a 5 star rating. 1). If you go at night, when there are no managers or owners present, the desk attendant will blast speed-metal so loud that you will be unable to hear someone talking right in front of your face. This is no joke. This is why 99% of the people there wear headphones. SO if you plan on communicating with say, a training partner, learn sign language. This only happens at night. When the boss is away… the employees play DJ… and fail. 2). You might also notice that half of the TVs have FOX«news» on and the other ones ESPN. ESPN seems par for the course. I don’t quite understand how looking at the likes of Bill O’Reilly might inspire someone to train unless you are looking for kill-it-with-fire-inspiration to push through that last lift. 3). If you are a male and you by chance have to take an extremely toxic power dump, you had best walk outside and head south to the stream. If you use the bathroom, you will be found guilty upon exiting and everyone will hate you because there is ZERO ventilation in the men’s bathroom and the brown cloud basically seeps into the gym and smells the ENTIRE gym up. There were a couple times this past winter when I walked in the front door to the gym and could not believe that people were unknowingly inhaling the poop molecules from someone’s whey protein induced anal-hiroshima. It’s sort of like being boiled alive, you don’t know the temperature is going up until you have passed out and become goulash. IN this case you don’t know you have inhaled 8oz of fecal molecules until you walk outside and choke on fresh poop-free oxygen. Those are the only 3 drawbacks that prevent me from posting a 5 star review. Sure there are other universal irritants present that you get at all gyms; like people who stand and talk in front of you blocking the mirror, girls using free weights for squats with 2.5lbs on each side taking 15 minutes between sets to chat, people picking up dumbbells and doing their set at the stand blocking anyone from walking by or picking up surrounding dumbbells etc. The usual stuff common of these MEMEME days we live in. But all in all these things are MUCHLESSCOMMON than at the chain gyms. For the most part, 90% of the members share the same goal, and thus are courteous, friendly, and serious about their fitness. All of that being said, don’t let anything stop you from checking Armbrust out. As I mentioned, it is BYFAR the best equipped pro-oriented gym in town. If you want to be inspired by amazing physiques on people of all ages and of all of the many chemically induced genders, this is the place. This gym is for people who have a fitness goal and are determined to make it happen. This gym is for people who WANT to be intimidated by beautiful bodies so it will inspire them to work hard for their own. And before I forget, one more thing: This gym is CLEANEDEVERYNIGHT. Yup you read that correct. Not like those 24hr fitnesses etc where the same piece of gum is stuck on a machine or in the urinal for 3 years. Armbrust is very well maintained and they totally understand that keeping the machines in working order pro-actively saves time and money. I have yet to see one piece of equipment broken. NOTONE in over a year. Armbrust = well equipped, well maintained, and well managed.

Best gym I have ever been to hands down! Strangely enough it is also the least I have ever paid for a gym membership. Even lower cost than a rec center. More equipment than I have ever seen. The owner is super cool too. Don’t be intimidated by all the huge guys and girls who work out here. Unlike many gyms where there are a lot of wanna be body builders this gym is full of true body builders(even the current Mr Olympia) that are really cool. Never have trouble finding a spotter and have even received many great tips. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Amazing gym! Very clean and every employee is so helpful. There are tons of equipment here and most of them are the newer machines. There’s even a designated section for free weights if that’s what you’re into. Love the fact that they always seem to be updating/upgrading machinery and rooms. Even the clients that go there are so nice, if they can see you’re not doing proper form/technique on a certain lift they’ll offer their advice. It does get very busy after 5pm when everyone’s getting off work but that’s expected, that’s why I prefer to go early mornings so glad that they open early! Looking forward to my next workout.

Unbelieveable gym if you’re looking to lift. Virtually any type of machine or weight you can think of is available here. Hands down the most extensive equipment for legs I’ve ever seen at a gym. People are extremely friendly and down-to-earth. Cardio equipment is a bit limited so if that’s what you’re looking for in a gym you may want to check elsewhere.

Do you want to go to the gym and just lift? As in to actually lift and not tone, no silver sneakers and where 90% of those in the gym look like they could snap your neck if you pissed them off? This would be it. Lots of IFBB pro competitors come here to train. They have every device imaginable, make protein shakes, and have some tanning options. I’ve seen some of the trainers at work and they will kick your butt. It’s awesome when they decide to open the garage doors! I love it. Everyone is so friendly, especially the owner Dylan. No matter where I’m coming from, the drive here is worth it.
