On June 13, my friend and I chose this place for dinner. It was her second time visiting this restaurant. She had a great experience with the food and service. As such she recommended that we have dinner there. On a Monday night the restaurant was busy. We each ordered pizza and she had a salad. I ordered the soup. Both meals were tasty. My only complain is the the soup was warm not hot. Although it was tasty. I would love to go back and order other entries fom their menue.

Dined last night with family and was disappointed in our food. The service was very good, friendly. The entrée(pasta with sweet sausage, rabe, beans was well over cooked. The pasta fell apart was soggy and very small portion. A very uneventful Caesar salad, small and dressing was too salty. Go here for pizza only.

Was looking for a great local gem and we found it. Stopped in on a Friday night just before the rush and the food and service were on point. Very attentive server and good ambiance with a good mix of patrons. We had the calamari with banana peppers what which was a nice simple twist but was fantastic. My wife had the Italian wedding soup(her favorite) and the bisque for me and both were very good. We then split a pizza with fresh ingredients and a very good crust. We finished it off with pistachio gelato and mini cannoli’s(beware I order for myself but came out with 5 generously mini cannoli). We cannot wait to go back and this time bring a bottle of vino.

I recently got engaged so my fiancé wanted to go out an celebrate. She picked this restaurant and neither of us has ever been so we gave it a shot. It has a very nice and welcoming exterior and interior. We were sat right away by the window and soon after greeted by Matt. Matt was a very good server and attentive through out our meal. The downfall of the restaurant on this occasion were our entrées. The fiancé ordered sausage and broccoli rabe pasta. She said the sausage tasted weird. I tried it and it did. Almost bland. She also said the pasta was also pretty bland. I ordered the pasta special which came with an assortment of sea food. I felt like some of it was undercooked. I had a few clams and mussels that weren’t open and some that were just barely open. Opted not to eat them. The sauce was lacking in any real flavor as well. We didn’t finish our meals. A plus is that they give you a free pizza on Thursdays if you order two entrees so that’s cool. Overall an okay experience despite the lack luster entrees we ordered. May have just been an odd night.

Speranza is truly a hidden gem of Gloucester County. This BYO, located on Broadway, is sort of oddly placed, as the food is very flavorful and the atmosphere quaint and charming, I feel like it should be located on Haddon Ave. in Collinsgwood. This place is perfect for families wanting a delicious, home made meal, or a date/outing with friends. Their pizzas are especially well prepared and yummy. The service could be a little more attentive at times on a busy night, but Speranza definitely is a winner in my book.

One of my favorite restaurants. Very clean. Food and service are always exceptional. Upscale dinning experience that is reasonably priced. I go here 2 – 3 times a month.

This place is such a hidden gem. The food is wonderful, the staff is friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is welcoming. I’ve been here at least a handful of times and I’ve sampled a nice selection of the menu and can honestly say everything is delicious. I love that the restaurant is a byob, however if you forget your bottle they also sell a small selection of wine.

Was very disappointed in the chicken parmesan dinner. The chicken appeared to be fried days before then stored and heated before served. It was dry, and old tasting. I was really looking forward to a good chicken Parmesan from a good Italian restaurant. You will not find it here. You can do better at a local pizza shop. The meatballs were tasteless, full of filler and rubbery probably another bulk frozen item. If they can’t do these items fresh and from scratch take them off their menu.

I adored the setting that this restaurant had to offer. Speranza had delicious pizza along with very friendly staff. I appreciated the deals they had for every day of the week. We ordered two pizzas for the price of one, which was really great! If you want to eat at a cute Italian restaurant, then you want to come eat here!

Our waitress Victoria was attentive and pleasant … the Chef came out to say«hello» and ask how we were enjoying our meals. The atmosphere is nice, good music and great food. What a hidden little gem this is Westville!

I’m updating my review because it has been a while since we’ve had a chance to eat here. While our first visit was quite good, our experience on a busy Friday night was stellar! We shared the fried calamari and peppers — great! Our salads were excellent, as we remembered. I tried the chicken parm with linguini, and it was exceptional! The huge portion of chicken breast was moist and delicious, and red sauce over perfectly al dente pasta was one of the best ever! As good as this was, my dining partner’s lobster carbonara was even better and memorable. It was a plate of rich and creamy deliciousness! I will confess to «helping» him finish his meal, so I could bring over half my meal home. We split three scoops of very good gelato — peanut butter, straccitelli, and honey fig. Service was friendly and food came up promptly in spite of a nearly packed house which included a couple of very large groups. We will be back!

Needed a decent restaurant close to Woodbury and stumbled upon this gem. Small place that serves everything from special entrees all the way to pizza and sandwiches. Had the eggplant rollatini, which I get everywhere because it’s my favorite and this did not disappoint. Was delicious with artichoke hearts and great sauce. Others had the seafood risotto, the lobster carbonara, and the crab and angel hair pasta, all equally delicious. Portions were large enough, but we saved room for the lava cake to share. Will make the trip to dine here again.

Speraza located in the small town of Westville, situated on the downtown strip… if you blink you have driven through it… look for the beautiful rock front which is very inviting and says welcome… the restaurant décor is also inviting with many tables including a small wine bar with 5 stools… curbside seating is also available with torch heaters if needed… Ian who was our server, smiled from the time we meet him to the time he asked us to return… very friendly and attentive providing us with his recommendations and suggestions making us feel welcomed… every staff member seem to know there roll and also were very friendly and seemed genuine… asking how everything was throughout the courses… This is a BYOB, but do offer bottles of wine from a local Hammonton winery($ 18−25…Starter was a Mushroom Flatbread*****which followed our request within 8 – 10 mins… picture perfect, toasted to perfection and scrumptious, just a sample of how good the pizza really is… Caesar Salad*****was average size which included rolled anchovies which were a special request but complemented the salad and balanced out the dish… House Salad***was also average size, but the Vinaigrette I was told was blasé Blau, no biggie can quickly be fixed… they also included a nice Garlic Rosemary roll***** Entrees presentation was above average… I ordered Crab with Angel Hair*****which was loaded with small pieces of Maryland type crabmeat and basil, well balanced with seasoning and not over done with salt… portion size was perfect and 1⁄3 was prepared for takeaway… Eggplant Rollantini*****was a smaller portion which had a sweet mozzarella cream sauce over top very tender thinly sliced stuffed eggplant which also was also well balance and melted in you mouth… Our finish included«Award Winning» Carnegie Deli Cheese Cake****topped with Strawberries and a sweet glazed sauce… no homemade desserts were noted, but no need… They do have a Gelato Bar and had a complementary scoop of Pistachio because we joined their VIP club by scanning the QR on the biz card at the table… Overall our experience exceeded our expectations and now have a new local hot spot… the only corrective criticism I have is to freshly grate the Parmesan Cheese at the table, but this is up for debate in our household I hate to share this because I fear that there will be a waiting list the next time we visit, but sharing is caring! Heyoo!!!

I have been to Speranza multiple times and will keep coming back. The atmosphere is great– like a restaurant out of a city versus a little town. The pizza is a medium size but is thin, crispy, and delicious. I have tried everything from the margarita to the meatball and my favorite, the Parma. All have been stunning. The must try? Their gelato! The peanut butter is to die for. Great little spot for chic, South Jersey dwellers who don’t want to drive to Haddon/CWood. Pizza, salad and dessert for around $ 20. They accept LocalFlavor deals which will cut your bill in half if you plan a day ahead!

Speranza supposedly means hopeful in Italian. I think it also means patiently waiting. In any case, you will find out what it means to patiently wait for your server and your drink and your food if you visit Speranza for lunch. There were 6 tables of 2s and 3s and I waited over 15 minutes — literally sitting and watching the waitress — to finally get so much as a soda. I wasn’t even offered a water. The food was another 15 minutes plus after that. Pass by this one for lunch.

Second times a charm, came here for a Saturday afternoon lunch. There were only 2 other parties dining. We started with the wood-oven caesar salad with roasted tomatoes and parmesan crostini. The dish was overpriced for $ 8. I expected more romaine than just 2 pieces. Note to other dinners, skip the salads and just get the pizzas. We ordered the chipotle bbq shrimp with red onion, roasted peppers, and cilantro. It was very good. A nice alternative to your typical pizza. I can’t recall the second pie but it wasn’t as memorable as the chipotle shrimp. I did mention extra crispy this time around. My request was honored and the pies came out much crispier.

A diamond in a tiny town. Food was amazing, pizza was spot on, entrees nice size portions and cooked perfectly. BYOB to save money, but they do offer a wine list. They also advertise with Groupon periodically, See it Grab it. Best of all was the PRICE., Six of us, Groupon for $ 25.00 off the total bill, appetizers and entrees was $ 56.00 a couple. They also gave us a free Margarita Pizza for knowing the U.S. vs. Ghana score, BTW– 2 – 1 U.S.
