Owner is a horrible person. I have been going here for quite some time and I have seen the owner berate her employees and be generally rude to customers, but the workers do great work there. For the first time she did my nails and toes and I have NEVERINMYLIFE been so insulted. I had quietly explained that last week someone cut my cuticle a bit too much and I had a light infection and to please be careful. She continued to be rough and then had the nerve, for the entire time, to tell me that my skin was so dry and gross– and that it’s all my fault I was cut. She was upset that I didn’t want an $ 80 special pedicure and then was complaining in Chinese to everyone around her. She also didn’t like how I was holding my hands and kept screaming at me, rolling her eyes, and telling me that I was such a nervous awful person and that I needed to sit still and relax. For the rest of the hour. she continued to berate me by telling me my skin was so dry no one is going to want to touch me and that I must have a terrible diet. I left so upset that I didn’t speak up for myself or walk out. There are many nail salons in Westport, I hope the good workers there learn how to stand up for themselves and find new jobs.

I am back! I decided to give Azena another try. Tina called me to discuss my life altering pedicure mishap, was extremely apologetic and wanted very much to make me happy. She also gave me a certificate for a free Pedi AND Mani. So I wound up NOT paying for the pedicure I was so unhappy about(which was my main complaint) and was kind enough to include the manicure. That was certainly not necessary, but very much appreciated. I have been back and happy for a while now — just been too lazy to edit my review. Sorry, Tina!

Best nail spa I’ve been to yet! Everyone who works there is wonderful and welcoming. Best gel manicure and uv gel manicure I’ve had so far. Won’t go anywhere else!

In Westport for the summer, and wanted my eyelashes touched up. I have never not gotten my eyelashes done in Manhattan at a favorite place I have confidence in, and this place Azena, advertised eyelash extensions so I chose to give it a try. I am giving it such a poor review because the extensions fell off after about 4 days taking my own eyelashes with them. Lesson learned: treat eyelash extensions like haircuts and be VERYPICKY… not like a nail salon where you can go wherever.

HORRIBLE! I wish Unilocal gave the option to not even give 1 star. This nail salon is by far the worst in Fairfield County that I have EVER encountered. I went last Sunday and wanted to give it a week before I wrote this review because I was so angry when I left there. I wanted to try somewhere new because my favorite nail tech recently left the other salon in Westport I had been regularly going to. My boyfriend and I were treated horribly, barely even got pedicures, the woman who did my boyfriend got up to answer the phone, chase customers back in, schedule appointments, and never even apologized! I believe his pedicure may have lasted 8 minutes and that includes the numerous times she got up to deal with everything else that was going on. It was horrible. She told us it would be «extra 15 dollars» to get the dry skin off our feet.? what? we didn’t even ask you for that and I am very confident that exfoliating someones feet with the pumice stone is STANDARD with a pedicure. I could go on and on but the service we received was horrendous. If you are looking to relax and have a nice experience, this salon should be avoided. All of the nail techs were rushing through the pedicures and clearly couldn’t wait to get to the next customer. THEWORST! I bet I could have gotten a better pedicure for $ 25 in a town over that isn’t even health department regulated. THAT is how horrible my experience was!!!

During a recent trip to visit my friend in Westport, we stopped by Azena for a manicure and pedicure. The location is located inside a shopping center, with BN and Starbucks. Their staff is super friendly, and they provide great mani and pedis. They are so detailed with their polish and they even provide a mini massage after the manicure. I got the UV gel manicure and pedicure, and let me tell you, I am very picky about my UV gels because I am afraid some places dry out my nails, but the girl that did my UV gel was so professional, it seems like she has been in this business for a long time, and my gel manicure lasted 3 weeks! For my pedicure, I got the green tea spa, this place is very clean and they take personal hygiene very seriously, for each person’s pedicure, they used a one-time use tub liner, and I really like that. The green tea spa left my feet and legs felt soft and rejuvenating, it came with a decent foot/leg massage. Service is exceptionally top notch. I would definitely come back to this nail salon when I visit my friend again.

I absolutely LOVE Azena!!! I moved to New Haven and couldn’t find anywhere that gave manicures even remotely close to Azena quality. The staff is lovely, treats their customers well, and gives great manicures.

«Mani, pedi, pick color». Many people believe this is Korean for«hello». In fact most of the staff at Azena are Chinese. You will know this because they talk to each other, probably about you, in Mandarin pretty much non-stop, taking time out to talk about the spanish-speaking massage girls, who also can’t understand a word. But they’re mostly good-humored gigglers, and there are a few party girls in the bunch, plus one very young looking boy who surprisingly has a few gray hairs. Tina, the owner, believes she is a shrewd business woman, and she will tell you to your face that your eyebrows need grooming. «Eyebrows too bushy. Make nice shape. You need». I have never set foot in the waxing room, nor is that on my «to-do» list. The women who do go in emerge looking like they’d just been molested by their favorite uncle. Another word about Tina and her hard-sell approach. The last time she did my nails, the product was… how shall I put this… thick enough to pave roads, past its prime, one step away from the trash can(but Tina was too cheap to put it there), and she labored to apply the product, which looked bumpy and wavy. Shattered glass is one kind of nail look. Bumpy and wavy is not another. Her rationale? «Bad for me. I make good for you.» not really. The quiet brains of the operation, a barely audible man I assume is Tina’s husband, can usually be found outside sucking back cigarettes. The prices here must kill him. More likely he’s having them smuggled in from China. Same cigarettes. Much cheaper. And then there is Michelle, a delicate little flower of a manicurist with a heart of broken glass. Her work is the best I’ve seen. She is meticulous with her nail prep. And she can send an unwanted massage girl running back to Nicaragua with a mere glance(the rest of her face is hidden behind a mask). Last December I asked if she had turkey for Thanksgiving. «Chinese don’t eat turkey.» Oh really? Chinese eat all kinds of things round-eyes would never let into their homes, let alone serve on a plate. But they don’t eat turkey? Nonetheless, Michelle is a genius, takes pride in her work, elicits the jealousy of her boss, Tina, which Tina attempts to mask under good humor, but it’s plain to see Tina would like for Michelle to meet with an untimely end in a dark alley, or baring that, get run down by a pedi-cab in Queens and have all her fingers broken. GO to Azena. Don’t go to Michelle because then she won’t be free when I need her. And tip the massage girls.

So here’s the thing about Azena… they may not be the hippest place in town to get your nails done, nor do they have the most up-to-date pedicure chairs and drying tables… but they are so sweet! It’s nice to find manicurists when aren’t gabbing about you in their native tongues. They also do a pretty decent job with polish precision and cleaning, I’ve been going there for years. They are also conveniently located in the Barnes and Noble shopping center so between book browsing, Starbucks, and mani/pedis, you can really enjoy your afternoon in one long stop!
