Great place for takeout. 3 really good spring rolls for $ 2.50. Sandwiches are also good and cheap. Definitely good if you want quick and tasty and don’t care about waiter service and what not

Our meal here was fine. Inexpensive, not bad, not especially memorable. The beef in the phở was nice, and it came with fresh veggies, but the broth was a little bit bland. The bun bo hue was more flavorful, but was a tad too salty. The egg rolls were fresh, though I wish they came with some veggies. The ice coffee was strong and sweet and dense, good as your ice melts into it. We came at an off hour, and there was just one person manning the place. Service was friendly, but incredibly slow.

Awesome spring rolls for such a great price!!! You get 3 rolls for just $ 2.50. Simply amazing. The contents of the rolls taste fresh and the peanut sauce is perfect. I definitely wanna help keep this place around because their fried rice is also so so good. It has small pieces of BBQ pork and shrimp along with some onions and other veggies. I’m not exactly sure what kind of sauce they put into it but the flavor blows my mind everytime! Again, the price can’t be beat. I have yet to try their Banh Mi so I’ll definitely have to do that sometime soon!

Probably the weirdest configuration of a restaurant, diner, take out place I’ve ever seen. It almost looked like a storehouse with its mish-mash of chairs, tables, storage cupboards, and shrine to Buddha. I walked in around 6pm to find myself the only person in the restaurant. I had high hopes of finding some good Phở in Westminster and the décor didn’t deter me. The open layout with no visible kitchen in sight did throw me though. I had the special beef bowl, some spring rolls, and sesame balls. The Phở was phenomenal and the beef was tender(!). I think they used beef rib meat for the slices and brisket. The meatballs were very tasty and the soup was great. The fresh ingredients were fresh and cooked quickly in the hot broth. The spring rolls and sesame balls were cold though. The heating lamps above them in the buffet area didn’t really keep them warm. I would definitely come here again to get some hot food and avoid the food in the buffet display.

A big bowl of Phở and a free glass of iced tea for $ 5.00. For $ 11 I got lunch and a takeout dinner to boot. Be warned, allergy sufferers: Vietnamese food uses a lot of fish sauce. Fish sauce is based on shellfish stock. I have a very mild crustacean allergy and I could tell there was some shrimp in the Phở on account of the fish sauce. Very good food, excellent prices, not busy at 1:00pm. Also, to the people who said this was«the hood»… good lord, open your mind a bit. This is not anything close to «a hood».

Food: 5⁄5 Phở is cheap & great here! You get that hole-in-the-wall authentic feel here. I think two Vietnamese ladies run this joint. I can’t vouch for some of the drinks though, like the melon ice drink. Service: 3⁄5 Quick, but the lady doesn’t seem to really care about being sincere or even pretending she cares about you. Total: 4⁄5

This is a divey, hole-in-the-wall establishment serving quick, cheap, tasty vietnamese fair. They have a lot of good stuff here, from noodles to vietnamese coffee, all soli. I made the mistake of getting some beef noodles with liver once… the liver just wasn’t my cup of tea… and to be fair, beef liver, in general, isn’t really my cup of tea. It definitely seems a little grimey here. However, the tables were almost entirely filled for lunches when I went, owing to loyal eaters.

Really small place on Westminster, in between Goldenwest and Edwards. The plaza is tiny, the biggest landmark is the Art Supply right next to it. Banh Mi Ga, iced coffee, and three shrimp spring rolls– all for $ 7.75. BAM! Such a convenient spot for my Banh Mi fix on my way to work. The people who work here are so nice– they always remember to give me extra napkins and always bid me farewell with a smile. Cash only and parking is a hassle sometimes, but totes worth it.

Cheap, Quick and Easy My mom always gets me Vietnamese sandwiches and springs rolls from here because its the nearest one to us. It’s not the best but its pretty good. They have 3 different types of spring rolls here and all good. The sandwiches are never too dry and always stuff with meats and the right amount of sauce. For the price you just cant go wrong. They also serve other items to go and boba =)

Was in town to check out a near by art store. Dropped by here because of Unilocal reviews. I haven’t tried the bahn mi. Maybe I should have, based on utensil required dining for phở. I love my hole in the wall, but was sadly disappointed with this place. Dined in. I opened six to seven chopstick packages available on the tables, to find… mold. Even tried chopsticks from another table, thinking I had a bad bunch? Probably should have left, based on that. Gave them a chance and requested chopsticks with no mold. Reasons for one star: 1. Moldy chopsticks 2. Had to get napkins myself behind counter 3. Meatballs in phở tasted floral, grassy funky? And I like my funky, but good funky, not funky funky hmm ew. Didn’t finish my bowl. Appetite lost.

This is one of those places I hate to review, it would be nice to keep it all to myself. Bánh mì c bit is my goto order, it is cheaper than the hand job I could probably get at the massage parlor in the same center, and probably more fulfilling. What is a must with every meal(because steaming bowls of organ meat and crusty french bread packed with porcine goodness isn’t enough) are the Cha Gio. Each delicately fried piece is better than the last; crammed with ground pork, vermicelli noodles and ginger the spring rolls are the perfect way to celebrate just how fat you will become because this place it too close to the freeway. In all of the trips here I have had, Bun Bo Hue, Bun Rieu, Phở Tai, Phở c bit, various Bánh mì, and the list goes on. Each time the price was never an issue. I fed a team of 10 people here for under $ 60 dollars and that is with drinks, spring rolls and the fixings. Go here and enjoy every bite.

I had a chicken banh mi and it was pretty good. I liked the flavor of the chicken and the bread was softer than expected. It didn’t injure my mouth from being too hard, so that’s good. All in all, it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great either.

i was hungry after an art class in the same strip mall, so i stopped by here to get a sandwich. these sandwiches are only $ 1.75! i got the vegetarian one, and it was very tasty and delicious! it’s got the yummy pickled carrots and daikon, along with some fresh sliced jalapenos and cilantro. yum! they had some boba and teas on the menu, but i already had a drink, so i just got the sandwich. i wasn’t disappointed! they are in a stripmall, so parking is not a problem. i’ll have to stop by again when i come again to visit the art supply store next door.

This place is pretty great. The bahn mis are near perfect, and cheap, at $ 2.50. It’s kind of a dumpy looking place, and the asian music videos that are constantly playing on the TV are a bit annoying, but it’s clean and the food is worth it.

Excellent egg banh mi! $ 2.50…the bread was superb, the egg yolk gooey and dripping. YUM! Update(8÷28÷10): I didn’t really take this place too seriously for Phở, but I ordered their Special Beef Phở… it was very good. Packed full of meat and the broth was good too.

Thanh Long Food To Go is our«to go» spot for some quick bites on the run. It probably isn’t the best dine in option as it really isn’t aesthetically pleasing but you can call in ahead of time to put in an order to pick up on your way home or to your next destination. Items that we’ve ordered on the regular: Goi Cuon Pretty good spring rolls. They also make a great dipping sauce which I feel makes or breaks the overall goodness of the spring rolls. Banh Mi We usually order either the dac biet(combination meat) or thit nuong(grilled beef) and both have been pretty good. On a good day the bread will be toasty but still soft and they won’t skimp on the pâté for the dac biet. Chao Ga Congee with chicken — a perfect hangover cure. Thanh Long makes a nice hearty but flavorful congee. The serving is quite large, I rarely ever finish a bowl on my own. Overall, affordable yet tasty food. You really can’t go wrong, especially when you’re on the go.

Decided to come give this place a try for lunch and was surprisingly pleased with the experience. This is definitely a whole in the wall and looks wise… it’s not very pleasing to the eyes. But I must admit the cost and food here sure makes up for it. What we ordered: Mi Wonton(wonton egg noodle) Bun cha gio, thit va tom nuong(Vermicelli with egg rolls, grilled pork and grilled shrimp) and goi cuon(spring rolls) togo. Everything was good and tasted very fresh. Total price for two entrée, one togo dish and two drinks $ 15 bucks. Super cheap. Will definitely be coming back in the future :)

Still the standard by which I measure the vietnamese sandwich, since it was the first I was taken to.(Thanks Lam, Phu and Cuong otherwise known as Chad, Allen and Ken) The bread always had a crispy crust and the meat was always perfect. I haven’t been back in awhile so I hope that it is still the same. For the reviewer who said that it is in the HOOD, you need to get out more often. That area aint even hood for the OC. :)

Took K.D.‘s advice and gave Thanh Long a try. Wanted to get some good Phở after watching an episode of Anthony Bourdain’s ‘No Reservations’. I tried the ‘Beef Stew’ bowl which came with some greens and been sprouts on the side to mix in as I pleased. The bowl was super fresh ‘made to order’ as it should be. I could see the steam rising as the cute lady brought me the dish. The ginger/clove aroma told me it was going to be ‘quality’ before she set it down. Perfect spice level & good beef. As a bonus, you get free tv viewing and hot jasmine tea! Would have given them a 5 were it not for the few random jelly like pieces that I think were meat… :)

You know this place is good, if it’s in some random strip mall and has been here for at least 20 years and there’s really no signage in English yet many non-vietnamese pple go here. LOCATION: Located in the HOOD. yes the HOOD. this place is as hole in the wall as you can get. I remember when my mom would take me here and buy stuff for dinner when I was a kid. FOOD: The Banh Mi Trung(egg sandwich) is amazing! They also offer egg noodle, rice noodle, phở, bun and other tasty dishes for a very affordable price. During the weekday, they offer 2 item lunch combos that are pretty good and cost around maybe $ 4? DON’T get any of the desserts/boba drinks. They are kinda watered down and not very tasty. THEIRSPECIALITY: They do a lot of catering stuff. Some authentic typical«drinking food» such as Be Thui(Rare Roast Beef with Ginger Sauce) in these large tin pans for people to pick up and bring home to eat with their beer. A place like this is why I’m glad I grew up in the hood… good eats for good prices. no fancy shmancy bs. just good authentic home made food that Jose/Carlos didn’t make for you! =P
