This my spot for dim sum. I always have excellent service and leave feeling satisfied. I have been to multiple events that use them for a venue and was very pleased. I assisted with a party thrown there and Ann was so wonderful to work with. Would definitely recommend to all. You must try the lobster! It’s my favorite!

This place is great. I’ve been going to this resturaunt for a couple years and it’s always great. Great atmosphere when there’s a few people or a party and lots of people talking and enjoying there food.

Like every other dim sum places, this one has less people and a less of a wait time. It’s not the best place, but it satisfies your craving.

Very slow inside. Employee charged me as a double!!! Dim sum starting $ 5.95~. I paid $ 32 for only five dim sum. They charged me even tea. They didn’t tell me about tea When I come back home and think about the price, dim sum usually $ 3. Cheating the customer! Is the price depends on the Nationality?

I’m not usually a fan of seafood at Chinese restaurants so it takes a lot to impress me. The food was just okay. My family booked 4 tables for my grandmother’s 93rd birthday. We had a prix fixe family style meal that consisted of cold cuts, crab soup, lobster & garlic noodles, honey walnut shrimp, sea cucumber & mushrooms, fried rice and taro dessert. The service was prompt. We were supposed to be there at noon and as soon as our table filled up, they started bringing out the food. Not to mention that the restaurant was packed with regular diners getting dim sum on a Sunday. The servers worked around us as we were mingling with family and other guests. It was quite loud in the restaurant but most items were plated really well and the service was prompt. When we brought the cake out, they even sliced it up for us. We were allowed to bring in our own alcohol which was nice. My uncle brought a cooler of beer and we had wine & champagne on the tables. It was a nice little reunion with my extended family.

My cousin had his wedding reception here over the weekend and had the typical multi course family style meal. All the dishes came out in a timely manner with the last few courses coming out rather quickly. We had the eight stars special cold plate, shark’s fin with crabmeat soup, honey glazed walnut shrimp, lobster, chicken, bird’s nest, crispy fish filet in House Special sauce, and fried rice. Most of the food was okay and not that good compared to other weddings I’ve been to. I did, however, liked the chicken the most! The lemon pepper sauce paired very well with this entrée. For dessert, they brought out sliced oranges and longan. Service was alright… I liked that they had new plates on the bottom of the first plate, so that we didn’t have to ask for new dishes. I’m not sure how the décor is on a regular day, but this restaurant is pretty big– we shared the space with another party that day…

We come to Seafood World for their dim sum. I like it over other dim sum places because it’s not as greasy and dripping in oil as some of those places. Banh cuon tom, bbq pork banh bao, and Chinese broccoli are my jam. I don’t care much about the other stuff. It’s pretty crowded if you go peak hours but after 2p.m. it dies down. Dim sum is served until 3p.m. You can also order entrées separately from the dim sum if you like. I also like this place because they will make you fresh stuff that’s not in the cart if you ask them.

The dim sum here is my family’s go-to, but the A-OK rating is for the fact that it can either be really great with great service or really bad with terrible service. Sometimes you come and get seated right away and the carts come quickly and have everything you want and it is hot and fresh and delicious. Sometimes you wait forever for the carts to come around, the food is cold and not fresh, and they have to go hunt down someone to bring you the one item you want. Sometimes the place is packed and other times it is completely empty. The experience you have is just the luck of the draw, which is never a good thing for restaurants. When they are fresh, our favorite items are duck/chicken feet, ha cao, xa siew bao, fried banh cuon, shrimp balls, and fried sushi. We find the prices reasonable and are never surprised by the bill.

My coworkers and I were looking for a nearby dim sum restaurant we could go to during our lunch break. For obvious reasons, we didn’t want to drive out to the 626 area. We found Seafood World on Unilocal and thought«what the heck. Let’s try it.» I normally take a risk when it comes to Unilocal.I know that Unilocal reviewers tend to be more critical(which is an admirable trait), so I thought this might’ve been the case. Chinese restaurants, especially dim sum places, aren’t known to have the best service. But as long as the food was good, I’d be happy! But to be honest, I probably should’ve heeded the warning of my fellow Unilocalers. The inside of Seafood World is pretty typical of any other dim sum spot: a very large seating area with elegant decorations. If you’ve been to a couple of dim sum restaurants, you know what I’m talking about. We must’ve came at a very slow time because there was only two ladies pushing the carts. We were served pretty immediately. When it came for the food, don’t expect every kind of dim sum. They had very basic things like chicken feet, Sui Mai, and Bbq pork buns. Unfortunately the food was pretty mediocre and lacked flavor. Finally, the biggest issue I had with Seafood World was the pricing. My group estimated the amount of food we got would’ve cost 30 – 40 bucks. It ended up coming out to 75! What a bummer. I hate giving a bad recommendation for a dim sum restaurant since I know that dim sum isn’t exactly the easiest kind of food to prepare but the price and the mediocre taste forces me to not come back to this place. I guess I’ll have to find another dim sum place in the OC.

This is easily the worst meal at any restaurant I’ve ever been to! Let me explain: We were looking for a restaurant for a simple Chinese family meal, we initially opted Seafood Cove, but thought we’d try Seafood World since we used to have dim sum there. Big mistake! We ordered 4 dishes: House special fried rice, salt and pepper pork chops, suateed on choy, seafood stir-fried egg noodles. The fried rice had seafood that was obviously not fresh, the squid pieces had a slight smell of ammonia, the chicken also did not taste fresh, we were hungry. The salt and pepper pork chop initially tasted ok, not the best I’ve had. But subsequent pieces had a nasty aroma that you only taste after biting beyond the masking effects of being battered and deep fried. The on choy was fine. At this point, we were borderline eating only out of hunger. Lastly, the one that out us so far beyond the edge that I not only lost my appetite, but also lost any urge to eat for the next week. The stir-fried egg noodles came out, it looked pretty good actually, lots of shrimp and sauteed onions mixed with the noodles. We all took some and almost simultaneously spat out the noodles and shrimp once we took a bite. The onions masked the smell of obviously spoiled shrimp until you had it in your mouth. The odor of rot and decay was so strong and overwhelming as I can only describe as the sensation of biting onto death. We complained, they took that dish off the bill. I don’t think they fully understood how bad the food was as they packed our food even though we told them not to and even asked us to take the leftovers. I don’t understand how you can run a restaurant and have the conscious to cook spoiled food. The raw ingredients, especially the shrimp, had to have smelled so bad before and during cooking that anyone who had any shred of conscious would have noticed. We will never go back and I hope Seafood World sees this review and makes appropriate changes, otherwise, I don’t think this place would stick around much longer.

This place is not what it used to be. Only 2 workers were available when I was there. One cart pusher and 1 waiter. Waited forever to get our food. AC was not on when we were there. Our only breeze came from them leaving the front door wide open inviting in flies and what not. I would say I will probably not be visiting this place again.

Wedding catering review: Ann was one of the best vendors we dealt with. We used her as a caterer but her experience as a coordinator and understanding of how weddings timelines work in general made our experience that much better. She is personable and even took great pictures and videos of our remarkable day. I would recommend her in a heartbeat to all my family and friends who are looking for a professional in the wedding industry. She is so knowledgable with our venue(Serra Plaza) that we wished we booked her as our coordinator. She tried to make sure our venue was cleaned so we get our deposit back. Mind you that she was NOT our coordinator and that wasn’t part of her duty, but she went above and beyond for us. What a pleasure to work with!

We were so happy with our decision to hire SeafoodWorld catered for our wedding reception at Hyatt Hotel in Huntington Beach about for 200 guests. Ann Cong and her team were Amazing! She was so flexible, friendly, engaging, quick respond to requests and extremely very professional. We had several hand passed Dim Sum appetizer and our guests and my family told me their appetizer better than the hotel food ! Food was hot, fresh and delicious. Our guests still raving about your food and appetizer. Thank you Ann and your team at SeafoodWorld for making our wedding really special and super delicious. We also appreciated the quality of services and presentation. I highly recommend SeafoodWorld catering for every occasion. Thanks so much !!!

Our wedding coordinator Mad Love Events gave us some catering recommendations and after reaching out to a few of them, we decided on Seafood World due to Ann’s professionalism, the quality of their food and their competitive price. Our July wedding of 290 guests was at The Loft on Pine in Long Beach. The venue didn’t have a full kitchen but Ann’s team made it work and the food was still hot when it was served. Our guests raved about the food, especially the lobster! Ann was on-site for the wedding and she was very accommodating to my husband and I. She set aside some appetizers for us in the bridal suite to munch on right after the ceremony as well as champagne. Also her staff members were positive and professional. The only thing is I wished they would have packed our leftovers in a to-go box so we had something to eat after the dancing portion, because of course during the actual wedding we barely had a few bites of food. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend Seafood World to anyone looking for yummy Vietnamese/Chinese food at the wedding!

I like to come here for Dim Sum knowing it isn’t as crowded, aka no wait, and I don’t have to drive onto Bolsa which I try very hard to avoid as much as possible. Service is lacking but I’ll deal for decent prices. There are a good amount of carts rolling around but sometimes you have to chase down the cart you want; you gotta have good hawk eyes. When I’m really craving some asian food or dim sum, this place does the trick. The food isn’t the best but it isn’t the worst.

Great place for dim sum! My family and I came here at noon on a Sunday after going to Seafood Cove #2 and being told the wait was over an hour! We were starving so an hour wait was not going to do. Seafood World was nearby and had plenty of tables so there was no wait! They constantly had dim sum carts going around and had a great variety of dishes to choose from. The food was good and service was quick. Overall, this place is a winner!

I have been going to seafood world for almost 15 years for many occasions(weddings, friends, family) and was always happy with their food and service! Many times i took advantage of their cheaper lunch take outs and loved it! Lately I am not so happy with their cooking! Last week I ordered salt & pepper chicken from the lunch menu and it was way too dry! No more juices left, looks like it was an old chicken just re-fried! Tonight my wife insisted to go back and take advantage of the lobster deal 10.95 per lb! We really just wanted a 3lb lobster but all they had was 4lb and up! Ok no problem, we also ordered the hot and sour soup and Singapore noodles! The soup came out very fast but was a bit bland and missed the sesame oil! I added soy sauce and pepper to improve the taste! I will give them a 3 for the soup! The Singapore noodles came out next and it was a hit! Best Singapore noodles i ever had and it was not even on the menu! The funny thing is that during my 3 Singapore visits i was not able to find Singapore noodles! Guess what I found right in my neighborhood! i will give them a 4 for it! Got very frustrated waiting for the lobster a good 30 minutes! Just sitting there, waiting, waiting, and waiters rushing by with lobster dishes hoping it was mine! I finally got up and made some noise! The old saying that the squeaky wheel gets the oil came true! Hurrah the 4lb lobster finally arrived cooked with the special house sauce! Unfortunately the sauce taste was not special it was bland and tasteless! The quality of the lobster was excellent tender and tasty! I will give a 4 for the quality lobster! Why was the tea not hot? We asked twice for hot tea and every tine it was just warm but not hot! Our water was totally not drinkable as it tasted so strong from chlorine! I guess it was just tap water! I complained and my water was replaced with clean tasting water! To sum it all up, the restaurant needs improvement in customer service, food quality, water quality! For tonight’s visit i will only rate it a 2BECAUSEOFBADSERVICE! On a good note, the free desert was excellent, it was a taro mixture delight with tapioca. Please bring back the quality and the great food we have been accustomed to for the past 15 years!

I’m surprised at the unfair bad reviews this restaurant received. We always had good service, the owner came by all the time, he was there everyday. During the day sometimes it was quiet and the dim sum might have been thought of stale but I come here regularly, this was rarely the case, they always tasted good to me and I have had the best dim sum in Hong Kong. It was always feast or famine with this place, too deserted or too crowded as they often had weddings and big parties, during one of this time, they put you in a small room with sparse furniture and poor service, I usually just go to another restaurant. No other restaurant offered lobster at $ 9.99 to $ 10.99 per lb and they do not cheat, most priced it at $ 12.99 to $ 15.99/lb and I got upset to see they obviously cheated saying it was a 5lbs lobster when it was 4 lbs. Their lunch menu is huge and most portions are generous for the price.

Not really good service. When you need food they stand in the distance and don’t recognize you when you wave at them. When you don’t need then they are all up I. Your face. No one offered us to get any drinks. Tables are left dirty. I had food particles in my water cups twice. Nothing I cleaned properly. All the soy sauce and vinegar containers are left all dried and crusty. The dim sum here is luke-warm and taste like it’s been reheated leftovers. When it comes to paying the bill the stand and watch you and don’t give you space. It was like they were patrolling to make sure you pay.

Terrible food and the worst service I am a fan of their dim sum but their wedding experience is terrible. I have been to a wedding at the restaurant and had a great experience. However, I went to a wedding where Seafood World catered their food and it was the worst experience. The last wedding I went to that Seafood World catered was my cousins. Everything was extra salty and the portions were tiny. We had their chicken dish, which tasted like salt and was overly gingery. Their salad was just soggy iceberg lettuce with not enough dressing and topped with tomato and gross shrimp. I looked at the platter and thought that it maybe cost them $ 2 for all that iceberg. The filet Mignon in their deep fried taro was so small. Everyone had maybe 2 tiny pieces each. They were maybe 2 cms cubes. And their honey walnut shrimp was the only decent dish but also not enough. Everything was served on tacky ugly plates. Oh, and did I mention the gross feeling of all that MSG afterwards? Many guest left still hungry. There is one other Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant in OC that caters for weddings(which I won’t mention their name). I went to another wedding the week after that used the other caterer and theirs was 74029384 times better. Not only because of the food, but the terrible service from Seafood World. The guys waiting on us was plain rude. We asked for extra plates and they made a fuss about it. They even asked why and what for? Does it matter? I also understand that restaurants or caters must put down new food so they rush us to finish whatever dish we are working on, however, Seafood World is the worst. They made it very obvious that they just wanted to do their job and go home. Making my cousin’s wedding dining experience not a pleasant one. It was annoying beyond belief.
