~ ~ S E R V I C E ~ ~ pleasantly surprised that the service had improved here, but that was probably because we came on a random weekday and the usual weekend crowd wasn’t there. nonetheless, i’ll definitely come back on weekdays because it’s less crowded and the servers pay extra attention to you, whether it’s refilling your water or just bringing around a cart to you. ~ ~ F O O D ~ ~ [ b a n h c u o n ]: the sauce on this was great! maybe it was just me, but the sauce was a bit sweeter than most places. i found myself picking at the small leftover pieces of banh cuon just so i could keep tasting the sauce. [ s h u m a i ]: i love the shumai here. the pieces are huge and juicy and super savory. if you dip it in some chili flakes and soy sauce, you’re golden. you can even dip it in the red sauce that comes with the spicy mustard. [ p o r k b u n ]: this portion comes with three small pork buns. the bread is super soft, so you know it’s fresh. i love the little bbq pork pieces because they are finely cut and super chewy. i love the texture of it. [ c h i c k e n f e e t ]: you have to order this whenever you go to dim sum. it’s a must. i can’t tell the difference between the chicken feet at other restaurants so this was good too! [ b a n h b o ]: this is the white dessert thing that you usually dip in coconut sauce. this came with three huge pieces that we shared with the table, but it was a bit on the drier side, so watch out for that. ~ ~ O V E R A L L ~ ~ we ended up paying about $ 14 with tax and a very generous tip per person. i would say that was a pretty good meal considering other fancier restaurants charge upwards of $ 20+ /person. the only bad thing is that parking is absolutely terrible at this location, but it’s well worth the wait!

This place sets the standard for your typical dimsum brunch. It was formerly the Dragon Phoneix restaurant every Chinese/Vietnamese family came to for dim sum on the weekend. Although traditionally dim sum is a Cantonese, it’s served by Vietnamese waitresses here. The restaurant does have a Vietnamese kick to it, offering café sua da and milk tea along with the traditional jasmine hot tea. Overall, the food is good but not great. The ha gow and shu mai are the two best dumplings and the most popular. They tend to oversteam the xiao long bao every time I come here and there is barely any juice left in the dumplings. The deep fried food is definitely overcooked and way too greasy. It’s definitely a good place for cheap eats with large groups.

This is like my extended family’s go-to place to eat whenever there’s a graduation or big event. While I’m not the biggest fan of Chinese food, I really enjoy the peking duck here. The skin is super crispy! They also use the leftover duck in another dish, which isn’t super great, but not many restaurants will do that for you, so that’s a nice bonus. Lobster also tends to be a family favorite. Overall, I have to say that when I eat dinner here, I’ve never had a bad experience. I hardly ever eat dim sum here, but when I do, it’s pretty standard. Nothing is offensive, but none of the dishes really blow my mind either. Service is super quick so that’s always a plus in my book. The restaurant is actually quite clean compared to other Chinese restaurants I’ve been to — cleanliness is not a huge issue for me, but if it is for you, this might be a plus for you. Regardless of how I feel about the place, I know my family will probably keep going here until the end of time anyways. At least I’ll be super happy while I’m eating the peking duck!

Anthony is the best!!! Seriously I am blown away by the service today at dim sum. He filled my waters so fast like a boss and even helped to cut our birthday cake and was nice. The food is what you’d expect at a dim sum restaurant

Dim sum in the AM! I usually stick with Menu A, which is the cheaper option. I’m not actually sure what’s included with this option since my friends always order for me. I think the menu is rather confusing. All I know is that I just gotta have my Shui Mai, rice sheet with shrimp inside, and pork buns. Yes, the food here is extremely greasy and will make you dehydrated but worth the goodness for your tastebuds. Beware of the carts that try to sell you $ 20 plates :)
