what to order: phở, duh My family has been eating here since I was a baby. Seriously, I think this is the first phở place I’ve ever eaten at. We don’t frequent the restaurant as often anymore but we do order for tog-o almost every week. My awesome roommate(aka grandma) picks up a few portions and its able to feed my other roommate(my grandpa) and me for a few meals. I prefer eating it at home because I feel like its less oily? The last time I ate here, I remember how quickly the food came out. Delicious and definitely the OG of phở restaurants in Bolsa.

When I have craving for Thit Đông(jellied pork) and Dua Cai Chua(picked mustard green), I like to come to Phở Nguyen Hue to satisfy my craving. I order these two dishes togo and eat them at home with rice. It can be hard to find parking during rush hours.

Normally this phở restaurant is a 3.5 but we came late and they probably ran out of congee soup, I ordered a chao long but what I got was some chicken broth from their phở ga and some rice to make it a congee. Needless to say, I was not happy, this place has been in business for 30 years so I let this one time slide! I recommended phở ap Chao, it was their specialty and it was always good, I should have ordered that, I guess it’s never a good idea to eat out late, the cook probably went home!

I ordered a small bowl of phở ga and my friend ordered a large bowl of phở tai bo vien, and I also ordered some hanh dam. We both had tra da for drinks. The phở was pretty good. The bill came out to be $ 24.14 though, which is pretty expensive considering what we ordered, and I only realized this when I got home. I called and asked about the bill, and the woman on the phone acknowledged that she had made a mistake and refunded me. I guess the experience was overall ok.

Price is cheap, but not desert 4 stars. Beef phở is fairly bad and not taste phở. Disappointed this place as it is centered in little Saigon.

Really good phở with really good meatballs. Soup is well balanced and not swimming in msg. But the biggest draw is their Chinese donut. Hands down the best I’ve ever had. Very thick and soft in the inside and crispy on the outside… And not soaked in oil.

Always love coming here for their Chicken Phở. Their broth is big on flavor unlike other places that serve chicken phở. You also get to choose between dark and white meat. Cash only though, which is typical for a restaurant in Little Saigon area.

Pretty dang hole in the wall place with very reasonable prices for food. I recommend getting the #103, rib soup with greens. You get plenty of ribs in there and they were all tender. Chicken Phở is also another dish we tried that we liked. Cash only so be prepared. 3.5 stars.

I’ve been going to Phở Nguyen Hue for their Phở Ga for the past few years. They serve the best phở ga with free range chicken breast meat, liver, heart and giblets. The day I went to order my to-go order they said they had no chicken eggs … =( But, my large order of phở ga with everything along with the herbs and ginger sauce was absolutely fresh and yummy-licious. If you’re looking for a wonderful chicken phở, then you should dine at Phở Nguyen Hue. 5 Stars!

Cash only Complimentary hot tea Only come here if your looking for a quick phở fix. A small bowl of phở is $ 6. Cleanliness matters to me A LOT! This place reminds me of a phở restaurant back in the 90s. Outdated chairs and tables and messy floors. Condiments is not fully stocked and have crusty stains at the tip of the bottles like the siracha and hoisin sauce. Food stains on walls. It was hard to eat seeing all the wrongs, but that’s just me. I’m a clean freak. I ordered a small bowl of phở for $ 6. Portion size was small. Average phở, reminded me of phở 54. I was still hungry. Their veggie plate and(brown) lemon did not look fresh. The broth was on the greasy side. I won’t be coming back.

I drank way too much last night and decided I want phở for breakfast at 4pm! Walking around the neighborhood and hoping I would stumble into a gem. I decided to stop here since it has a lot of good reviews. Oh boy whoever gave this place a 5 must be on crack!

I would stick to the rice plates here. I’m not a huge fan of the phở broth here. The broth is overly salty, but lacking the phở flavor that I’m looking for. The rice plates here are delicious. The chicken siu siu and grilled pork are both really good. I like that they include pickled cabbage and carrots as well as fresh tomatoes and lettuce with the plate. Lots of tables, no wait, quick service. Exactly what I’m looking for when I want a good meal.

My parents have been on a perfect bowl of phở-seeking adventure. We have been driving to the Little Saigon area to try out a bunch of new phở places and my parents LOVE this place. My parents would give this 5 stars if they were more tech-savy.They are convinced that it reminds them of the motherland(Vietnam). I think that it reminds them of Vietnam for low prices, horrible service, lack of cleanliness/no health codes and cheap quality products. My dad got the Xe Lua($ 6.95) which is a large bowl of beef noodle soup with assorted beefs. My mom ordered the to trung of the Phở Dac Biet($ 6.45) with is a medium bowl of beef noodle soup with assorted beefs. I ordered the to trung of the Tai Nam Gau Bo Vien($ 6.45) which is the medium size with rare and well beef slices with fatty beef and beef balls. The veggies that it came with were wilted and cruised. The soup barely had any flavor, but the noodles were soft and delicious. The meat was incredibly subpar in quality. There was too much filler cheap stuff that I just omitted to eat. The beef balls were like one slice of beef ball thinly sliced in four pieces. I feel like they did well in giving the illusion that there was a lot of meat. I definitely prefer our journey to Phở 79 for the most part except this place has better noodles. My mom also ordered a side of chicken… It is similar to the chicken Chicken Hainan chicken, but the Vietnamese variation. It comes with a ginger fish sauce. The chicken really sucks. It tasted old and fatty. I am beyond not a fan. My mom was like… not ordering the chicken here next time. That implies there is a next time :(My parents like it so I’m sure I’ll be back… begrudgingly… I’ll just get a small bowl with minimal stuff in it to save myself from too much unworthy wasted calories. So sad… CASHONLY

Came her for the phở Ga and I wasn’t disappointed. Surprisingly the service was excellent. I mean really excellent. They brought out my white meat phở ga in like 2 minutes. It was really fresh and the ginger sauce albeit sweet was really good. I’m allergic to MSG and I didn’t feel any after effects so I’m assuming they don’t use it hear. It wasn’t the best phở ga I’ve ever had. I think the broth could have had more flavor and the noodles could have been fresher and less clumpy but overall very good phở ga, I would come back.

Their Phở ga is good, though not the best I’ve had, but they don’t skimp on the chicken, liver, hearts, and unlaid eggs. Every bowl I’ve had here had enough of everything. Well staffed so everything gets done quickly. I love that they have the Chinese donuts here, great to have with any kind of soup. I’ve yet to try the family style dinner. Can’t wait.
