Good portioned and delicious rice dishes and they have a buy one get one free offering for their milk tea and Thai tea. I ordered Thai tea but they gave me milk tea. It good for the price however I wouldn’t go here just for their drinks. Knocked one star for the drink mix up.

Good com tam(broken rice) plates, with one unique item, which is essentially a spicy miso-marinated grilled chicken. They offer a B1G1 offer for thai tea and/or milk tea with boba, both decent. My wife likes the bun rieu(rice noodle soup with egg and crab). Service is friendly, hoping this stays as part of our regular rotation.

Don’t order Bun rieu here. Hate it when restaurants sweeten their pork broth by adding tons of sugar to it… Just cook it w more PORK bones people!!! But my hubby was smart & order the Banh Hoi w cha gio nem nuong & it was delicious!!! So my bun rieu was a 1 star & their Banh Hoi was a 5 star so it average out to b a 3 star overall. I was hungry too:(

Me & my boyfriend always drove past this spot & noticed that it was new, so we decided to check it out. Came here on a Sunday night. Waitresses were friendly & even though it was starting to get busy, our food came out faster than I expected. I ordered the Com Suon Bo Dai Han(beef short ribs) w Nem Nuong & sunny side egg. The dish looked very appetizing, but taste wise I would say 3.5÷5. The meat portions were pretty small & I was able to finish everything off my plate, so I’m pretty sure my bf would not have been close to full if he had gotten the same thing I did. I feel like I could’ve gotten this somewhere else, for the same price. except bigger portions. Other than that, my bf got BBH(Bun Bo Hue) & he enjoyed it. We’ve been to every BBH spot there is, & this place would be one of his favorites. I also LOVE their chili sauce! It’s actually spicy unlike other places you would go to. You really won’t find it anywhere else. Overall, I would definitely give them another shot just to try out another dish. Also because of their great service, & of course spicy chili sauce.

My in-laws & I love this place. Definitely not your average com tam place because of the quality ingredients. I always get com tam suon nuong(porkchop) but occasionally I’ll get tau hu ky and bi. The portion is definitely smaller compared to other places but it’s very yummy & does fill you up if you order different side items(shrimp/bi/Cha/etc.). Love their huge BOGO milk tea/Thai tea! It’s a must! Give this pace a try! Oh-love the accompanying broth-it’s piping hot with hints of ginger :). Fish sauce can be spicy so be careful!

This place is awesome with awesome sauce! The pork chops with broken rice are delicious. The egg rolls are crispy and not greasy. The service goes above and beyond. A cool family establishment.

Awesome food!!! We’re been here many times. Com tm, bún, and bánh hi with bò lá lp and tàu hũ ky combinations are very good. I especially like that you can make your own spring rolls with the bánh hi dish. I would definitely come back again and again! Be mindful of the chilies sauce. They’re very hot!

The presentation of the 5 color rice was good but the meats were no Bueno . Neither the pork or beef were fine. They were old. My husband got stomachache right after. Overall, great and fast services. Tasteful fish sauce. Flavorful shrimp paste. The meats were no Bueno.

Honestly, I have no idea how people consider this the BEST in OC. The food was just, terrible. I’ve tried it twice, you know, give it the olé second try. And, it was just dry. It was poorly flavored. The textures were just slightly off. And the rice, well, you can’t mess up on rice, right? The ONLY time I’ve seen people go here is when the other two restaurants in the strip is not worth the Disneyland wait. There’s better places. But for convenience, I mean, it’s good for convenience. That’s about it. 2 Stars for taking over that terrible Ben La.

I like this place. Good food, really good service. I look for a good fish sauce and this place got it. Grilled pork is a little small but it tastes good.

The food was average but the service was wonderful! Also bogo thai/milk tea with boba! How can you say no to that? I got the ban hoi with bo la lot and egg rolls($ 9.99). Originally I thought it was just going to come out with that one dish, but they brought out a platter of fresh veggies, rice paper, and water to dip it in. The lady working there was nice enough to give me a little tutorial, since I’ve never eaten it that way before. Overall, it was a new and delicious experience! The bogo drinks were alright, a bit sweet, but for $ 2.75 for two cups there’s not much to complain about. I was iffy about getting the boba because I expected it to be hard and gross since they’re not a boba joint, but it actually came out soft and chewy! Overall, clean interior and great service makes up for anything lacking in the food on my part.

I was craving com tam and did not want to go through the traffic on Brookhurst or Bolsa. Found this fairly new place and gave it a shot. It is located in the small plaza next to 7 – 11. Parking is plenty(some in the very front and in the back as well). The restaurant is new so everything was clean and bright. The only thing that threw me off upon entering was the smell — it was like a wet towel smell and wasn’t sure if it was from what they cleaned the tables with or if it’s from them cleaning the floors. The server took our orders but came out with the wrong drinks. We ordered Thai teas but instead got regular iced teas. The owners(I’m assuming) apologized on his behalf and said it was his first day. Understandable, first days can be nerve wracking. The lady who fixed our drinks came back with the new Thai teas and kept apologizing. I really didn’t mind the mistake since they were pretty quick on making sure it was changed. Now for the com tams! My BF and I both ordered com tam thit nuong tau hu ky(broken rice with grilled pork and a shrimp patty wrapped in tofu). He added an egg to his. The portions are big! They’re not some itty bitty plates that’ll make you wish you ordered a large. No, this fed me and my BF twice(we to go’d at least half of our plates). The thit nuong was mediocre. Their fish sauce is paired well with the meal — not too salty and doesn’t taste too sweet. I suggest adding in their crushed chili sauce for a kick. The rice’s consistency too soggy or too dry, perfect for me. I thought their tau hu ky could’ve been better. Their tofu wrapping was a bit flaky and was too much compared to the portion of shrimp they had inside. I also wish they added more tomatoes or the pickled veggies as your side. Overall, the food is 3 stars but an extra star for their service. The owners(I believe) were attentive, checking on how we were doing, asking us how our food tasted, and apologized excessively for one mistake(one is good enough for me). They thanked us as we went up to pay and then as we left lol

1st time trying this as an alternative to Mai Phung which was so crowded. I had bún rieu which is decent although I wish their tofu could be a bit fresher and more varieties for the accompanied veggies(they only had Rau ram, shredded cabbage and bean sprouts). My boys had com thit nuong and they seem to like it especially my little one who typically doesn’t like meat. We also had egg rolls and bì cuon which are ok too. Overall we will come back to try more stuffs.

Talk about Random!!! I visited this restaurant in Toronto, Canada a few years back and seeing them down here was like a kid discovering a new bike under the Christmas tree. I’ve been to 4 out of 7 locations in Toronto a few years back. SoCal Com Tam lovers, I highly recommend you giving this place a try. Food Quality: They make everything here FRESH! That’s a blessing because I know a few place that pre makes there ingredients. This includes rice dishes to bun bowls. The taste is on point and MSG is something I didn’t noticed in my food. Customer Service: This place has been open only for 3 weeks and I have to say I’m surprised how well organize the staff is in knowledge of the food and very tentative when you have a request or question. Pricing: It’s a tad cheap compared to the other restaurants that sells the same items. Overall: It’s refreshing to see a business owner from out of state to come in this area and help improve of the overall image of a clean, good tasting food, and an environment where you’re able to sit and eat. I love knowing that the inside of the restaurant is clean and not dirty is also a relief. I highly recommend this place if you’re a fan of Com Tam, Healthy food, and a clean place to eat as well! So dang glad you guys opened up a location down here is SoCal.

As a person who grew up eating com tam all his life, I find this place very insulting. Service: Drinks and sauce had to be carried by two people when it can be done easily by putting them all on a tray. Food took pretty long to come out. My ice tea came out in a sealed boba style plastic cup, but without a pointy straw to poke the seal. The person on the next table to me had to do the same. The waitress did not even remember the menu. I had to let her look at the menu for a minute so she could write down my order. Food: I ordered Suon Bi Cha, which are the three basic toppings of com tam. Let me start with the rice which was not even hot. The rice was very soggy, almost mushy. Suon(pork chop) was not very flavorful and also cold. Bi(shredded pork skin) was also cold and the amount of it on the plate was very little. Cha(egg, meat pie) which the 1 star in my review. The fish sauce did not taste like real com tam fish sauce. It tasted sweet and sour. This place is an insult to the dish which I was raised on. I would never return or recommend this place to anyone. If you want an agreeable com tam place, please visit Thuan Kieu. I hope you guys find this review helpful
