My encounter with this poor excuse for a business was unacceptable. I initially called at 8:00 am and was quoted a price of $ 150 to replace my key. I was very clear in stating that I simply wanted a valet key, not necessarily a remote key. I confirmed the price and was told the technician would arrive shortly. I waited for nearly an hour before calling to follow up with the estimated time of arrival. I was told the technician had tried to reach me but was unsuccessful. It was clear that when he arrived that he was using the incorrect phone number. When the technician, Gil, finally arrived, he failed to introduce himself and made me uncomfortable by failing to answer my questions in an upfront manner. When I asked to confirm the cost before he was set to begin he did a quick once over and said the price would be $ 357.00. I was flabbergasted at the drastic change in price and refused the service. He then attempted to engage me in haggling asking, «What can you do it for?» Absolutely ridiculous! I paid the $ 20.00 for the service call, simple because he continued to make me uncomfortable and I just wanted him to leave. When I questioned the charge on my card since he had an invoice already filled out for the outrageous amount he rudely said, «I don’t need to steal your money. Don’t worry.» This condescending tone was infuriating. Again, I was relieved when he left. I would recommend avoiding C & K Locksmiths. Later that morning I secured assistance from Broadway Lock and Key and was able to purchase TWO keys for a total of $ 200.00. Their service was impeccable and I am disappointed that I did not call them first. I definitely am not a competitor and certainly did attempt to use this service. The fact that it took three months for this business to respond to my review is a clear indicator of poor customer service.
