I usually love this place however tonight while celebrating a friends birthday, we encountered a very rude graduation group that the manager sided with, very disappointed. I am a frequent visitor to this place for lunch, happy hour and brunch and the manager caters to this one time graduation party. This was on the patio and the graduation party complained of smoke and blamed us and it was someone else they continued to call us white trash from a pregnant lady very classy and our server knew we were not smoking but yet the manager felt the need to speak to us Alisha and treat us like we did not matter only that party. Terrible customer service

Aysha obviously doesnt know how to handle arguements. When you have 2 parties not getting a long you dont treat the other party as if they dont matter… She obviously needs to go back to hospitality school.

Oh Cisco’s, how I wish I could give you more stars. I come here mostly due to convenience. It’s close to work, home, and all my friends. I generally come for happy hour and always think the appetizers and food will be better than it is. The carne asada fries were barely palatable. The buffalo wings lacked a lot of flavor despite being drenched in sauce, and the nachos were just ordinary. The drinks are ok during happy hour, but the service is just so slow. The serves are very friendly, and you can see them trying their hardest to take care of everyone. I just hope a manager finally notices that they really need to schedule/hire enough servers, because one person can’t manage 20 tables. In terms of parking there is plenty of space in the lot outside. That’s never an issue. It’s a good place for large parties given how many different seating areas and tables they have. They also have outdoor seating, which depending on where you sit can be very nice or it could be a view of the busy street right next to you. They do have a nice brunch buffet which I would definitely recommend over their lunch/dinner. But any time of day you come the chips and salsa are delicious

I had made a 6:45 reservation at Cisco’s, and shortly after I got a call and a voicemail asking if I wanted a table inside or outside… So, I thought it was off to a good start… I attempted to call back 3 times, each I listened to the phone ring about a dozen times, then hung up. My friends had arrived on time and were seated according. I got there about 20 minutes late… To my surprise the table had not received menus yet. The waiter came over took our drink order, I ordered a strawberry margarita(everyone at the table heard me say this), then I asked for menus. The waiter came back with my nonalcoholic drink first, but no menus. After the total time without menus at the table got to about 25 minutes… I got up and got the menus from the front myself. They only had 2 there and the hostess told me she’d find more and bring them over, which she did do. We got 4 menus for 5 people, but hey at least we got menus. The waiter then brought over my margarita, and it was not a strawberry one. When he came back over I informed him that I had actually ordered a «strawberry margarita» he argued with me insisting I did not even though 5 people heard me order it. I did not bother getting it switched because I did not feel like arguing with him about it. We got our food and it was the single redeeming quality of this restaurant. The food was very good and it was hot when we got it, but unfortunately the serviced severely tainted the dining experience. The service was easily on my top 10 worst service list. This was mine and my friends’ first time dining at Cisco’s, and it will probably be our last. The food is the only reason I gave this place 2 stars.

The steak fajitas were fabulous, tea was refilled promptly, and the fried ice cream made me scream.

Very below average happy hour experience. Service — 3 our server was nice but she brought me a second drink when I only told her I might get a second. Food — 4 stars. my friend loved her quesadilla and it was huge. I didn’t eat but my margarita was good and strong. Value — 2 stars. I think these happy hour prices are more than elsewhere. Attention to detail — 2 stars I was unhappy to find out that even though I ordered«the $ 3.75 margarita» I was charged for a different margarita(twice since she brought me that second one).

Quite a poor overall experience for happy hour. Outside patio wasn’t very comfortable. Service was exceptionally bad. Food was fair. Manager was attentive and did all he could to remedy our experience but I certainly will not come back anytime soon.

Came here for Trivia tonight and sat on the patio for 30 mins and nobody came to take our order. Chips and salsa were on the table and that’s it. We had to get a bus boy to take our drink order. Our waitress has been walking by us without even looking at us. Now she finally came to us and its awkward as hell because she blatantly ignored us and we are upset and I want to chew her out. Sighhhh this is just a bad experience.

We have eaten here a few times and always sit at the bar for happy hour. The crowd is fun at the bar and often we meet our neighbors around us. The bartenders have always been friendly and engage in conversation with us. They offer their recommendations and really go thru the different menu items. I love that they bring out salsa and chips for you to snack on while you drink. The salsa is a little spicy but great with your ice cold drink. The drinks are good and have just the right amount of alcohol in them. Our bartenders tonight were Amy and Lexi and those girls were awesome. They were fun, friendly, attentive, and both had great personality. We ordered the wings and really enjoyed them. We liked them so much we took an order to go. Happy hour prices are really good and full amounts are served. Once happy hour ends the prices are a little high, but hopefully one day it wont matter ;) we will definitely be back!

Absolutely the worst place on the planet. The service is so BAD it is almost impossible to describe. Literally have had to ask the«servers» for everything.

Cisco’s is a reincarnation of itself in it’s original location after it sold out to the former Suki 7 restaurant which was a trendy sushi bar/dance club/meat market that went BK because of it’s eclectic ownership group. The location is a jig saw puzzle of nooks, cranny’s and arbitrary rooms that don’t fit together. Clearly an architech on crack with fetishes. This is pedestrian Mexican food period end of story… Cisco’s is essentially a nice bar, nice happy hour, really nice Taco Tuesday and a great outdoor patio. There is nothing special or discerning about the food but then again considering the copious amounts of alcohol that get consumed here nobody seems to care or realize for that matter. Cisco’s is sadly just blah. Being a local I have been a few times for dinner but considering that I don’t drink, the food is just non-descript and uninspired. I have been a few times for taco Tuesday with friends which is fine but still very pedestrian. there are a wealth of better food options nearby which is sad because we are not exactly a mecca for quality fine dining but rather mostly eating… Cisco’s interestingly enough has a nice vibe and welcoming kind of trendy ambiance albeit alcohol induced. The menu has all your Mexican mainstays and did I mention the alcohol lol Parking is abundant and you get chips and salsa. Sorry but that’s about it. Nothing memorable or food that would ever be confused with fine dining. But if you want to carbo load and get liquored up this is your spot. The inherent challenge becomes meandering through the maze of rooms that are Cisco’s and find your car before you order more food…

Two words: Beer Tower. This is a fun place to party, and they have the drink menu to back it up. The ambiance here is among the best nightlife places in the westlake area. This place is a lot fancier and more upscale than the Thousand Oaks Arboles location. This place is normally pretty dark, and has a sleek, trendy ambiance to it. The portions here are big, and bottomless chips and salsa come free with every table. Score. Happy hour is really the best time to go. At night, it usually turns into a dance club/party. The beer selection is good, and they offer giant 100 oz beer towers, which are always bound to start off an epic night. Prices really aren’t that outrageous for the quantity and quality of this place. Great atmosphere and good vibes. I’ll be back.

This basic restaurant deserves a basic review. I will start by calling it typical. When you enter, there’s usually a hostess flipping through a magazine half ready to greet you. The bar and outdoor patio area are to the right while the main dining room and restrooms are on the left. The girls who work the bar can be pretty friendly. Once you show up a few times they usually know your name and your order and will try to have it requested for you when they see you coming in. Chances are you can sit down to a freshly made margarita or wine of glass without even having to ask for it. The drinks are usually heavily poured and very cheap during super happy hour. I can’t say I’m as crazy about the food as I am the drinks. There are only a few items I would recommend. My go-to item is the chicken taquitos. They come with guac and sour cream $ 5 during happy hour. Their lunch combos are also well priced — and you have the option to try multiple things. The enchiladas aren’t bad. They also have a taco bar(I forget which day) but that is also worth a try! Come here if you’re looking for cheap drinks and interesting people. Or if you just need to waste some time.

When I lived in the area growing up, like 25 years ago, Ciscos was a regular spot for my family. Since the fire and remodel, I was skeptical that it would maintain its awesome. Passing through town recently to visit friends, we returned to Ciscos, sat on the patio and ordered as if it were yesteryear. Oh. My. Gawd. Still SOGOOD. We sat on the patio, enjoyed the mariachis, has charming servers, delectable margaritas, perfect chips and salsa, and the most flavorful, creamiest refried beans ever known to man. I will never again drive sound on the 101 without stopping here. Never. Again.

I’m glad I took a personal recommendation to visit over relying only on Unilocal reviews for this place. This is a great place to take a large group of people since there’s plenty of seating options indoors and out. The salsa is perfectly spicy and the chips were hot and fresh and never stopped coming to the table. Our drinks stayed full all night long and all of the special requests were accommodated without error. We had 9 people walk-in for a table on a Monday night at 6pm and had no problem getting a large booth that made everyone feel included in the conversation. The table-side fresh guacamole preparation was spot on and just enough for four people(we ordered 2). The jalapeños didn’t add too much heat, so you could probably add more if you want more spice. Food Winners: — Grilled Shrimp Tacos — Fajitas — Enchiladas If your standby order is a taco or burrito, you may be better off ordering something else so that you aren’t disappointed. Everything else about our experience was 5 stars.

*Update* So the server miss charged my card the wrong amount and did not tell me. Then did not even bring the paper copy of the reciept. Then tired to tell me it was charged correctly. The restaurant is clean nicely decorated and the staff generally friendly. You have to park behind which means going far down either street but it’s not too bad. There are lots of seating areas so you get a good selection. The chips and salsa are good. I got the bowl of abondigas soup. It was really really good. The bowl is a decent size as well. Even as a tall guy if wanted a light meal with the chips that would be enough. Refills of soda were speedy. The veggie side is really great vs rice or beans. The tacos are stuffed full of meat, yumm. But I did find a long hair in my soup so this review is not going over three stars.

Just tried eating here at 8:40pm on a Sunday. The restaurant is supposed to be open until 10pm tonight, and we were told immediately upon arrival that they just closed the kitchen. What? You’re supposed to be open for another hour and twenty minutes! This isn’t even the first time this has happened to us – it’s probably the third or fourth time. This obviously was not the hostess’ fault, but she was very unapologetic and just said it wasn’t her decision. What kind of restaurant just closes the kitchen whenever they feel like it? Lesson learned. This place sucks.

Haven’t been inside this place since it was remodeled years ago, but was invited to an obligated birthday celebration. I can say the décor is most improved since the old days, but the layout was a bit strange. That’s really neither here nor there. Anyways onto the food… started off the night with the side table guacamole. Pretty standard overpriced item, but overall a fresh beginning to dipping some chips. Followed that up with a simple order of the single cheese enchilada, rice, and bean plate. The flavor of this plate was just bland and the extra«hot sauce» I added could not improve this situation. I did polish the plate off, but it was nothing I’d come back for or recommend. As far as the service went, staff was great, drinks were full and the food arrived as ordered. There are plenty of other enchilada places throughout the area that provide a much more tasty item, so it will be another many years before I return to The Cisco’s. Wasn’t completely horrible, but it just didn’t have anything that would bring me back. 2.5 Stars

Ciscos is a solid option for Mexican food and drink in the Thousand Oaks area. We’ve eaten at this location numerous times and have always had good service, solid 3 – 4 star quality food, and reasonable prices. The restaurant itself is a bit dated, but well maintained. There is plenty of parking because Ciscos shares a giant lot with an extensive strip mall. There is a decent sized bar area that is usually pretty busy. It includes an outdoor patio for those wanting to enjoy the nice SoCal weather.(The last time we were there, the hostess asked if we wanted to sit in the bar… with our 2 children. was a bit strange.) Overall, Cisco’s isn’t the best Mexican you’ll ever have, but it’s a solid option with reasonable prices. 4 stars!

Between 11 am — 2:30 pm(not sure which days of the week) you can enjoy their ALLYOUCANEATTACOCART which includes several kinds of meat, salsas and condiments, as well as rice and beans. These are street-style tacos, and you can ask for single or double tortillas or none and just have the meat. Fish tacos you can order directly from the server, the rest you get from guy staffing the cart. It’s a good deal at $ 9. My favorites were the fish and carnitas. I had a couple of each. I also tried the steak and al pastor but thought they were dry and less flavorful so will skip those next time. Our group also split the TABLESIDEGUACAMOLE, prepared in front of us with fresh avocados, cilantro, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, lime and spices. It’s a big bowl and better for at least 3 – 4 people to share.
