It seems funny to give a casual place without waiter service 4 or 5 stars but I might give it 4 after a few more tries. I went to The E Ciggy to restock yesterday and by 1PM had not eaten so I figured I would try Chipotle for my first time. Living in a Mexican food mecca like Santa Barbara, with excellent choices in WLA as well, I would never go to a chain Mexican unless desperate and then I’d just duck into Taco Bell for two grande tacos. So I drove around the large mall and saw in the corner a cheap Indian, cheap sushi and this. This was the cutest so I went in. It’s a very large space, bright and airy, and the service is fast(of course they didn’t exactly have a lot of other people to help). I had the BBQ chicken salad(6.99) without the tortilla chips: corn, jicama, black beans, BBQ chicken. It was very good, large and fresh. It’s not the greatest sauce in the world an CPK is better but it was perfectly fine. They give you a light(not dense) and warm baguette. Warning: they have TWO wines. BV cabernet and Merlot. Some BV is fine but this, as I put it on FB, is somewhere between undrinkable and what the hell, I’ll do it as a shot. Disgusting but I have no shame and I drank it anyway. They also have wraps, sandwiches and a couple burgers and grilled cheese, along with grilled quarter chicken and tri tip. I thought it was overall quite good, though all I tried was the BBQ chicken salad. The chicken comes in a scoop and it’s shredded. It’s fresh but I don’t know that this is the best choice of presentation. If you want alcohol, I suggest beer. The wine is only 6/glass but it’s not worth 2. They could get a bottle of Blue Fin Petite Sirah for 3.99 at Trader Joe’s(good taste, very low alcohol content) and sell for 5 and still make a huge profit.

Great panini and potato chips. Everything was great, I don’t see what all the bad rap is about.

$ 21.00 for food served on cheap styrofoam plates! The place looks promising. Nice decode inside and out. Spacious. It came recommended by a friend who goes there for the daily lunch specials. I decided to have the BBQ Tri-tip panini with homemade potato chips. My lunch partner had a plain cheeseburger with fries. Two regular drinks and sure enough I was $ 21.00 poorer!(Serves me right for treating). I was assured the food was worth it. 15 mins later our order is called, I’m starved with anticipation and hunger, ready to chow down. Quickly my hunger bleed into disappointment. The food was served on cheap styrofoam plates, much like a church picnic or family bbq at a park. Ok… so I tell myself to look beyond that. The chips were crisp, perfectly cooked and non-greasy.(This is why they get one star) My first bite into my panini was ok, but there was only a single layer of the most thinly sliced tri-tip on the planet. There wasn’t much flavor, the bread was oaky, but the bbq sauce lacked flavor. More chips… The next bite was into the biggest grissley piece of tri-tip in the planet… and the second… third! I’m sure you get the point. After the third bite, I had enough. No for me. So I finished my chips… and left with the same hunger as I came in with. Thankfully there’s a Costco across the street… those $ 1.00 hot dogs really hit the spot. Save your money, there are plenty of other options in the area. Oh, as for my lunch partner’s cheeseburger, he reported it was«ok» but a little dry… flavorless…bland. Enough said.

This place used to be good — now a dud. I give it 6 months. Employees sitting at tables eating out of Tuberware containers is not a good sign. Absentee owner, employees who dont care and no customers add up to a new restaurant soon.

This place is under new management and a different menu since the last time I visited. They no longer have soup and salad lunch specials or the ½ sandwich + soup special. The panini sandwich I had was just okay, nothing special, and it really isn’t a panini(not pressed/grilled) as it is just a toasted bread sandwich. I’m not excited to go back again.

This place has been around for a few years an I have not really heard much about it but decided to try it. Its like a lunch type eatery with semi BBQ type food. Lots of sandwiches and wraps, some complete entrée dishes like chicken and 2 sides. The staff was pretty average and did not interact much beyond here is your food. The service was fast(but we were the only people there). The portions were decent and the prices were ok($ 11ish for the chicken meal). The food tasted average with nothing to speak of in particular. I don’t plan on coming back.

I stopped here randomly on a drive up to San Luis Obispo. I was starving and needed nourishment, but I didn’t want fast food because I’m trying to be somewhat healthy. So I ran across this place on Unilocal and popped in. It was pretty empty, so I promptly ordered a bbq chicken wrap with a side of pasta salad. Came out to about $ 10. I was starving so it tasted fine to me, but the husband took a bite and said he didn’t like the sauce that was on it. This is located in shopping center, so there is lots of available parking.

Wanting to try something new, I came here for lunch one day. When we walked in, I saw the fresh ingredients at the counter and was excited to try it out. I ordered the half panini, half salad. Portions were small, and taste and presentation were nothing to write home about. Served on paper plates, For an $ 8 lunch I was hoping to at least be filled up afterwards too. Disappointing to say the least.

Pizza was off the menu, not sure if that is a long term thing or an oven needing repair. Closet option was some pasta, which I chose to have with some spicy red sauce. Pasta was not al dente, but was more like par boiled then finished with the sauce. The sauce smelled like it might be spicy but had little spice in the mouth. Service was good and the to go order was ready in not too much time.

Decent option if you want a fast lunch. They have salads, pizza and wraps. The BBQ chicken wrap was just OK. Was disappointed that they did not have any dessert. Some days you just have to have dessert to complete a meal.

Have been here a few times for lunch and each time I’ve enjoyed the freshness of my sandwich wrap and the side caeser salad. Perfect size lunch for me(I’m not a small eater), I full(satisfied) yet not stuffed. Do enjoy this eatery and will have many more lunches here.
