Academy of Dance Westlake Village

I originally liked the dance studio, but over time I noticed a lot of unprofessionalism and favoritism. My daughter has regressed in her dancing technique this year because half the time there was a sub in the class. There is a student teacher in the class that doesn’t help teach but is in her own dance world and watching herself in the mirror. Some of the kids have expressed that they were afraid of her & would not participate in her class. I have never seen her interact with the children or teach proper technique. The dress rehearsal was not only unorganized and running behind schedule, but the front door workers were rude, a little girl was crying back stage and they wouldn’t allow the mother go to her child. There are serious glitches in this academy of dance, not to mention the studio is too small for the volume and there are too many dancers allowed in each class. We have given them the benefit of the doubt for a few years but it is now time to move on. Several families will be leaving this studio and not recommending.

My family feels so lucky to have found ADWV. Our daughter has grown and developed as a dancer under Jess and her incredibly talented group of teachers. The level of instruction is very high and they are fabulous mentors as well as role models. The family atmosphere as well as the «No Drama» mentality makes for a very pleasant place to be and group of people to be around. I feel that they respect my daughter’s desire to be a professional dancer and to that end, give her the teaching and encouragement that will hopefully make her realize her dream. They never tire of supporting all the girls. I highly recommend ADWV for any young dancer as a place to learn, thrive and realize their potential.

My daughter is happier than ever at ADWV… We feel like part of the studio family and I see how much my daughter is improving in her technique. I can easily see us being here for years to come. Thank you to all of the teachers and staff for all that you do!

My daughter’s have been going to this studio for 3 years! We couldn’t have asked to find a better studio for their dance needs. My 10 year old has grown as a dancer and has become more and more in love with dance! Not only have the teachers and staff been AMAZING dance teachers they are also AMAZING people and show the kids what it is to LOVE dance!!!
And the BEST part is that all of the teachers are working dancers so they are very well versed in the best most up to date choreography and dance moves!
It is so neat to see my daughter be able to say that she has dance teachers that were on «So you think you can Dance», or «Shake it up», or «Teen beach move»!!! That is so cool even to me the mom!!!

My daughter has been at Academy for several years now, and just recently completed her first year of the company team. We love the studio and the teachers, especially the company teachers! The choreography is unique, age appropriate, and taught beautifully by Jen and Ahja. The teachers really love their students and treat them with respect while having the right blend of kindness and discipline. With ballet, lyrical, jazz, tap and hip hop among others there is something for everyone.
