Bad gel manicure. Bleeding cuticles before gel manicure was put on. Had to ask stop service; never going back.

I have been to this nail salon beore, but haven’t been compelled to right a review until my most recent trip. The salon is nice overall and the staff are friendly and accommodating, however, my issue is with their pricing. When I had finished with my gel manicure, pedicure, and 10 minute massage, I was told by one of the staff who performed the services that the price was $ 69. She even wrote the pricing down on a ticket. When I went to the register to pay, the owner Michelle rang me up and told me that the price was $ 84. I asked her to break down the pricing of each service and was surprised that it was much more than other salons in the area. I did not argue as I should have confirmed the pricing up front, but I would advise others that are new to the salon to confirm the pricing of the services before beginning them. Also, the staff and owner should be aligned on the pricing as it seems kind of shady when the cost of your services goes up by $ 15 when you hit the register. Just FYI — they do not take American Express either.

My husband and I have been coming to Riju for pedicures and manicures for the better part of 5 years now. I really appreciate Michelle and her staff, and her dedication to pleasing her customers. How we happened to find this salon is a story in itself. On a Thursday evening about 5 years ago, around 6 PM, my husband grabbed me and said that we should go get pedicures. We went to the salon to which we always went, and they turned us away citing that they close at 7 PM and won’t have time to do us. We went to about 7 other salons in the Westfield, Scotch Plains, and Fanwood area and got the same story from all of them. We went to Riju, and on their door, it says they close at 7PM but when we asked if they could take us, they cheerfully agreed, did the pedicures and did not rush us, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We left about 8 PM and we have been going there ever since. I have found that if you tell them what you want and what experience you expect, they will accommodate you. Remember, these people are trying to earn a living wage. You get what you pay for. They may not be the least expensive salon in town, but they are clean, sanitary, skilled, and friendly, and for that, I am willing to pay a bit more.

Great nail salon! Such a friendly staff and fair prices. The only thing that is on the expensive side are the Vinylux manicures. THey’re much more expensive than elsewhere. However, I still continue to go because I like the result!

The pedicure I had in May was terrible. The woman rubbed the skin off of my heel which got infected. I had to see a podiatrist for months until it finally healed. Stay away!

I really wanted to love this place. After reading all the reviews online, I was finally back in town to give this place a try. I went in for a pedicure with my boyfriend and was immediately asked if I wanted an extra massage, which I said yes to, but only one of us was given the said massage (hint: it was not me.). The woman who did my pedicure barely rubbed my feet — very disappointing to say the least, seeing as how the rub down is THE best part! Afterwards, another woman came over to paint my nails/​finish me up. My polish is all streaky and uneven, worst part is I didn’t notice until I was halfway down the road. I probably will not be back. I got the feeling that unless you’re Westfield Elite, the service is not the same.

I got a basic manicure once here and came back for a vinylux manicure (the one week polish) and was shocked when my manicurist told me the price was $ 20 when every other nail salon charges $ 13 – 15 and I’ve been all over. The people are nice, just your average nail salon that charges a little extra in my opinion.

The manager michelle is rude and her staff will try to rip you off. If I hadn’t caught her scam she would have ripped me off $ 65

Absolutely love this nail salon. Reasonable prices, clean, friendly staff, very accommodating, and great work. I’ve had gel manicures and pedicures here and always very happy with both. Great shoulder massage while gel dries, hot stones with pedicure. It’s the little things! :) They even stayed late tonight to accommodate me, which is awesome. Thank you so much girls!

Best kept secret in the Westfield area. Clean, friendly and reasonable prices (most nearby places have only one or two of those going for them). Gel manicure took 35 minutes start to finish and the quick shoulder massage while drying was heavenly.

Good quality nail salon. Dependable, nice and professional staff. Would recommend to all.
