Great place with quality food. The owners are always there and they take pride in what they sell and serve.

Best pizza around. They do not deliver — so Friday nights –especially during Lent can be crowded. They also have Casual table service in the back, the wait staff is very attentive. Food is all tasty. Kid friendly & a BYOB, you will see a lot of families.

We’ve eaten at a lot of the pizzerias in the area and Gennaro’s is our favorite. Gennaro’s consistently delivers quality food with wonderful customer service. You’re greeted with a smile and thanked for your business each and every single time. The family obviously cares that you are satisfied with your experience. They know how to create raving fans.

Getting a best of anything award can be a blessing and a curse. Increased business is a plus. Nuts who come out of the woodwork writing awful reviews is a minus. I had never heard of this place before I read The Best of Union County article. It is tucked into a small strip mall that I have driven past hundreds of times. Never noticed the place. My son and I got right to business. Ordered a large sausage pizza. The pizza came out blazing hot. Crisp edges, not too much sauce, plenty of sausage, lots of cheese. My son loved it. I prefer less dough/crust. The pizza is very thick. The sausage was excellent. As is customary, I took home a to go order for my wife. Medium pie with spinach and eggplant. My wife loved it. So, my family enjoyed Gennaro’s more than I did. No worries, though. We will certainly be back for another pie.

If you want a good authentic Italian meal, then do yourself a favor and skip this place. Their pasta sauce is straight out of a jar, and who makes baked ziti with no ricotta cheese in it. not even a hint of garlic in any if it. The pizza was tasteless. If you want to eat pasta with Ragu jarred sauce on it just stay home and save the money. Chicken parm dinner with pasta. awful, baked ziti.awful.margherita pizza. awful…There are much better choices for Italian food in Westfield, including the diners…

Honestly– I read about this place and decided to give it try. I have to say it was one of the worst pizzas I ever had in New Jersey! It was like stale bread with bland sauce. I would think people in Missouri might call this good, but I’m growing tired of wasting money for crap. I would give it zero stars but Unilocal won’t let me

Love the pizza! Always crisp crust made just right. The sauce is delicious too! A must try in the Westfield/scotch plains area.

Solid, consistent, reasonably priced pizza at long-established place. Casual and friendly. My recollection is that they do not deliver or serve alcohol.

Wow — I saw this place recommended on a Facebook page a few weeks ago and when a craving for eggplant Parmesan hit me I figured I would give it a try. Incredible. This was the best eggplant parm I have ever had! So delicious. The sauce is perfect. Even the pasta on the side was tasty. I will definitely come back to try other items!

Love it! We moved to Millington so we miss them dearly! There no use trying to find a replacement because no one comes close, especially in this area. We actually drive the 50 mins there and back when we feel like pizza. Because it’s that good.

We love Gennaro’s! Have been getting pizza and entrees here consistently over the past two years. We love the sicilian pie! Also love the standard cheese pie. Their sauce is amazing, and by far the best in town! The dough also has a great taste. Entrée favorites are the baked ziti and the chicken parm. Gennaros always makes us happy it’s the weekend!

Love the pizza, love the guys who work there… they are always so friendly… but yes it’s a little bit pricey for pizza. BUT it’s good so you get what you pay for. Enjoy!

Giving it four stars because the pizza is fantastic. However, with that said my fiancé and I ordered meals and subs one night and it was just«okay». Garlic bread was decent as well as their wings. I am willing to try once more, but you can’t go wrong with the pizza!

I’ve been coming here my whole life. The pizza is great but the entrees are wonderful. I’ve had the chicken parm, chicken veggie and almost every pasta dish. The pepper and egg hot sub and eggplant parm subs are amazing and juicy. And the owners/family is so warm and lovely.

Moved to Westfield in August and was looking for a good go-to pizza place. Found Gennaro’s and was happy. 3 months later I have to report how sad I am to say that I am giving up on Gennaro’s. Chance #1 pizza wasn’t done when we got there so had to wait a bit longer than usual… no big deal. Chance #2 pizza not ready again when we got there(well over the 30 min they quoted on the phone) my husband’s meatball sub was eh ok, not as good as usual. SO… gave them chance #3…AGAIN pizza not done when we got there, they said computer system froze up, when we finally got our pizza and sandwich we got home to find that they didn’t give us pepperoni but just a plain cheese pie and the meatball sub had become completely soggy from sitting there waiting for the pizza to get done. BIGFAIL!!! I just can’t anymore Gennaro’s, I’m sorry.

Came back with the same group of friends I was with during my last review. This time we started off with 2 orders of the fried calamari, one with hot sauce and the other with sweet sauce. We knew which one was the hot sauce because it had red pepper flakes on top of it. Not that spicy. We all agreed the calamari was very bland as were the sauces that came with it. We had a couple of side salads which were pretty good and the balsamic dressing was very tasty. We ordered a Sicilian pizza with pepperoni and sausage as well as a large regular pizza with broccoli and spinach. There was plenty of toppings on both pizzas. We didn’t get cheated with that. The pizzas were really good. Plenty of cheese, hot, and just plain yummy. The service was very good and friendly. We brought our own wine and beer and they promptly brought over wine glasses and a corkscrew.

Review is for the pizza– love it! I get different cravings for different types of pizza. Gennaro’s pizza is a little more doughy with perfectly seasoned sauce(not too tangy, not too sweet) and perfectly salted cheese(i.e. not too salty as I can’t stand salty pizza). In, NJ… When I’m in the mood for a doughy pizza with a crispy crust, I go to Gennaro’s. Crispy, thinner crust pizza, I go to Sorrento’s for their tomato pie. When I want salad pizza, I go to Buono. Thin crust, The Brother’s in Red Bank. Vodka pizza, Denino’s in Aberdeen.

2.5 stars. good pizza, but way too salty. $ 11 for 16″ plain pizza. All I tasted was salt. Sauce drenched in salt, exaggerated, but u get the point.

Great Pizzaria! Their chicken Parmesan pizza is amazing. I also had their chicken Cesar wrap which was simple but tasteful. The owner himself was so nice. Their dine-in service was very pleasant. I give this a two thumbs up!
