Owned by a true Italian this place is great. It has a charm to it that other small markets don’t have. They carry traditional Italian items and freshly prepared foods. The owner is always there and is a very nice guy.

I love Phil’s. The food is always delicious and ever changing. Their is always something new and tasty to try. The bonus is you can get dinner and dessert plus some Venda ravioli from the freezer for lunch the next day. Combine this with the fact that Phil is just an all around great guy, it is a no brainer for any prepared foods or a great sub for lunch or dinner.

I stumbled upon Phil’s Market Place on my way to the beach. After chatting away with the very friendly owner Phil, I placed my order for some sandwiches to go. The meatball sub and chicken salad sub are to die for. Lots of options so there is something for everyone. Will definitely be going back soon!

Unfortunately I can’t say too many positives about this place. I purchased some «fresh» Venda pasta which was frozen. Owner recommended I drop it in boiling water. all would be fine. It wasn’t. It came out all clumped together… Bought some meatballs to go with it… terrible. Bought some bread that was in a case labeled, «NYC Bread». It was made by A&M Bronx Baking Co. which by the way is NOT in the Bronx, but instead in Pelham NY. Either way, it was rock hard! The home made Phil’s marinara sauce was bland at best. All in all… wont be going back. Sorry, I wish my experience was more positive but I call em like I see em…
