Nice and clean. Staff was very friendly. I had grilled chicken, hummus, and spanikopita. Pretty tasty! I’ll have to try the pita next!

I grab take out from here all the time. Good choices, good food. A little heavy on the feta and Tzatziki Sauce. A word of caution, double check your orders, more than once I asked for ‘no feta, no tzatziki’ and my order had both so just verify before you indulge.

I went the first weekend the place opened when it was crazy busy, thought it was ‘okay’, and never made it back. So, when I had errands to run today in Westchase, I thought this would be the perfect quick to-go lunch. The place was not busy at lunch time, and the cashier, Jennifer, couldn’t have been nicer. She was right in that my food would be ready quickly — it was. I got the Small Village Salad, and a side of falafel to put on top. I can’t help but compare this to the other local Greek restaurant I get this salad from — and unfortunately, Greek City’s comes up short. The salad consisted of no lettuce(which is why I like it), 3 tomato wedges, 3 cucumbers, 3 green pepper wedges, 3 greek olives, and numerous banana peppers, plus 2 nice hunks of feta, all in a small container, which held the dressing too. Tasty, but very small, for $ 5. The falafels were 3 balls, on some shredded lettuce, with the same salad dressing. Crisp on the outside, and completely UNCOOKED on the inside. All 3 were raw. It’s disappointing that they’ve been open 6 mo. to a year(longer?) and don’t know how to cook the items on their menu. Thank goodness it came with pita, or I would be really hungry right now! I called Greek City from work, after I threw out my inedible food. The conversation with Tony, the guy who answered the phone, went something like this, «Hi, I was in about 20 minutes ago and ordered a side of falafel for my salad, and when I went to eat them, realized they were not cooked.» Big sigh from Tony’s end, «Well, you can come in and we’ll make you some new ones». Me, «I’m at work now so I won’t be able to come in». Tony, «What’s your name?» «Karen» «Well, next time you come in, we’ll give them to you then.» Me, «Um. yeah. that probably won’t be for quite some time — Good bye!». Where in that whole conversation was«I am sorry /We are sorry!»?? Seriously — you are serving your customers uncooked food, and can’t even apologize for it? Honestly — I won’t be back.

This location has been a lot of different things. The recent incarnation is a greek restaurant. I went on Thursday and it was busy. Kids eat free on Thursday. There will be families there and the service will take a hit because of it. Décor was interesting and there’s an olive tree in the middle of the dining room. We had ordered the food to go but they plated it instead but the food was boxed quickly and we departed. The chicken soulvaki pita was good. The chicken had good flavor and it was full of vegetables. Pita fries were interesting. I’m usually not a cheese fries person but I was open to trying it. My husband had the turkey wrap with bacon and he thought it was good and also enjoyed his pita fries. The menu is limited but I don’t expect greek places to have extensive menus I guess. The prices were comparable with other greek places. Next time, I will try the salad instead of the fries. I would try this place again. It’s not far from home but with Little Greek and The Hungry Greek up the street they will have to do something to stand out from the crowd.

Boy howdy, this is great Greek food. I ordered the gyro pita platter with small Greek salad. Not so small salad is loaded with chopped veggies. Gyro is meaty and full of more veggies. Best Greek salad and gyro I have ever had.

It was such a treat to have a dinner at Greek City Café! I had to drive for an hour from Brandon to try it, and it worth the drive! Service is great, restaurant is neat, and the food is amazing, especially the Spanikopita. I will definitely be driving there again!

Very good food for a good price. Its not fancy, matter of fact only a step up from fast food but on a short time frame and a small wallet, it is a good choice!

Best falafel I have EVER had! Smooth and creamy interior with a perfectly crisp exterior. Veggie packed Greek salad. Homemade baklava, and spanakopita. DELICIOUS! Right across the way from my gym, I will definitely become a regular here. The manager took care of me and my catered to my vegetarian diet. Excellent Greek and healthy lunch spot for me.

There are a number of food options in this location — Chinese, sushi, hamburger, pizza, Mexican, etc. — I was craving a gyro and so disappointed. Not only by the service but the food. The restaurant was not busy when I arrived and it took a good five minutes before someone waited on me. When I was waited on, I ordered my gyro and asked what sides were available and the girl behind the countered gave me a condescending look as she recited the available sides. The worst part was the food. The gyro meat was dry and lacked any flavor. I’ll stick to Acropolis next time I’m craving Greek food.

The uncovered outdoor seating is going to be a hit this summer and I can’t wait, because the raspberry passion tea here is a refreshing delight. The dolmades are unexpectedly large with well balanced flavors. The free check in offer of feta fries is satisfying, and strangely enough, we only dealt with one person from order to finish. His name was Nicholas, and he was welcoming, fun, and spoke highly of the ownership. The indoor seating is cool, and comfortable but I can’t wait to go back and sprawl out at a nice table with my face face in the sun, tea in my hand, and spinakopita in my belly. Well played gigantic grape leaves. Well played. See Mark H’s Westchase Greek-off list for moar!

Kelleigh M. was right, Greek City is better than The Hungry Greek, and it hurts me to say that. I’ve been a staunch supporter of the Hungry guys since they first opened up in Westchase, so in some days, this is a sad day for me. On the other hand, today I had what I’m certain was the best feta fries the Greek Gods have to offer, and THEYWEREFREE with my Unilocal check in! The gyro, which is my go-to dish when trying a new Greek joint, was great. The meat was tender, the tomatoes were plenty and the tzatziki was on point. I love they diced the tomatoes too because nothing is worse than having a big-ass tomato slice sliding off of your gyro with every bite you take. The chica got the dolmades, and they too were tasty. Definitely some of the biggest I’ve ever seen. «Meal-sized» is how I’d describe them. As for the atmosphere, it’s a little more upscale the some of the other strip plaza Greek joints out there. This place feels more like a market bistro than anything else. Very nicely executed. Patio area is a plus. This is the restaurant’s 3rd location, and I welcome them to Westchase with open arms. So far, they top the list for the Greek-Off Contest happening in my fat stomach!

Pretty good Greek food. Greek salads, pitas, gyros, etc. The menu also has a bunch of paninis and flatbread pizzas that I have not tried yet. Don’t miss the desserts!

I work in Westchase and it seems these fast causal Greek a’la Moe’s type of shops are drawn in by the families and bored housewives that haunt these parts. I’ve tried them all, Little Greek, Hungry Greek and now Greek City and I think it’s safe to say I vote for Greek City. They’re getting 5 stars because they exceeded my expectations. I think if you’re going to judge a Greek place, you start with the gyro pita. I’m sure real Greeks would tell me I’m wrong(I’ve been wrong exactly 3 times before) but it’s how I judge them. Their’s is solid. The gryo meat has great flavor and isn’t too salty. The tzatziki sauce is delicious and the right consistency. We have new restaurants bring us coupons all the time so we had a free feta fry. They were amazing AND unlike anything I’ve had. I’m sure it’s a bastardization of Greek culture but it’s worth every disappointed YaYa. Their menu is definitely intriguing enough to get me in there for more than just a Gyro. The food isn’t even what gives Greek City the edge over the competition. What makes them stand out is their interiors, customer service and food presentation. Unlike Little Greek and Hungry Greek(which are similar in quality and price), Greek City understands that eating isn’t a blind experience. The presentation of the food itself is better but the vibe and customer service in the restaurant is leagues ahead. We had smiles and menus waiting for us when we walked in. I’m sure some people don’t care about that but I sit in my office all day and it’s nice seeing friendly faces while I’m out. The interior is modern with an open kitchen. The seats are comfortable. It’s the little things that count when you’re competing for the same slice of the pie.

Greek city is a great restaurant with quality food presented in a modern fashion. The service is great and the ambience is open and fun. The overall experience was great and the prices are very reasonable. Ambience: the restaurant looks very open with a view in to the kitchen and high ceilings. There is an olive tree(don’t know if its real but it looks it) in the entrance which was fun. You order when you get in at the counter and get a Greek alphabet for them to bring you your food which I thought was efficient and a good play with the Greek letters. Food: the Food was delicious. I had the gyro pita which came with a cucumber and tomato vinaigrette side. The gyro was perfectly made and the side was very refreshing. My girlfriend had a platter with hummus and pita, falafel and a spanikopita. The hummus was very tasty(seemed like sundried tomato and olive). And the falafel and spanikopita were made very well and was not oily or dry. Overall everything tasted great which is foundational. What put it over the top was the presentation which was done is a sleek manner. Service: Overall great. The waiter who helped us with the order checked on us as we needed. They were fast with the food and even provided the free feta fries for the Unilocal checkin after the order was already completed. Other Items: the complex around Greek City has other modern, simple and variety in restaurants. I would encourage everyone who frequents the complex to try this restaurant. They will not be disappointed.

There are many Greek restaurants in this area so I was skeptical at first whether we needed another one. I’m happy to finally report back that this is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. My boyfriend and I tried two things from the menu. I got the Fountain of Youth Platter that came with pita(fried or grilled), falafel on top of salad, hummus and spanikopita. The price was extremely reasonable for the amount you get. I love that I can try a little bit of everything. The falafel was creamier than any falafel I’ve ever had. Pita was warm and soft. The spanikopita was perfectly crisp and creamy. The creamy cheese and spinach filling really complimented the flaky crust well. My boyfriend ordered the Gyro Pita with a side of veggies. He was a big fan. The presentation of both dishes was beautiful. I made sure to check in and was happy that it came with an order of free feta fries. These fried were covered in Tzatziki sauce and feta(I’m guessing they are reading reviews and are quick to adjust any issues.) The atmosphere is casual yet hip. I liked the open kitchen because you could see everything. The baklava and other desserts looked yummy. Service was friendly and efficient. The owner or manager made sure to ask us how the food and everything was during our visit. This is definitely a place I’d stop by next time I need a quick bite to eat. I left feeling full and satisfied but not too bloated. :)

For greek fast cas in westchase, this is the best. Fresh, innovative and a nice seating area, Greek City Café is a great option. We had a groupon and ordered a Greek salad to share(fantastic dressing and nice chopped ingredients), a Mediterranean bowl and a Greek bowl. All items were fantastic but I really enjoyed the Greek salad. The dressing wasn’t oily at all and it’s the type that has a slight pink hue to it. Delish! The desserts looked phenomenal and included baklava, apple cinnamon cheesecake, peanut butter cake and what looked like baklava cheesecake. Next time…

Greek City Café carries on the great tradition of outstanding Greek food from the Pappas family of Tarpon Springs. Nicholas, the son, has opened several locations of the Greek City Café around the Tampa area as a healthier Mediterranean cuisine in a modern /contemporary fast casual setting. Greek City Café has three locations around Tampa — Spring Hill, Countryside, and now Westchase. The Westchase location can be found in the two-block stretch of restaurants and retail establishments across the street from Westchase Elementary. Greek City Café has a large open kitchen with a modern dining area indoors and outside dining under their awning on the side of the building. The menu has many of your Greek favorites including pitas, Greek salads, spanikopita, dolmades. hummus, and wrap. But the staff has added some interesting twists including paninis, Greek rice bowls, and daily specials including lamb shanks. For lunch I ordered the Gyro pita with the traditional shaved rotisserie lamb and beef mixture, stuffed into a piece of pita bread with feta cheese, diced tomato, onion and romaine lettuce, and a generous amount of tzatziki sauce. To that I added a cup of their very tasty Greek Avgolemeno soup(egg, rice & lemon). When I checked in on Unilocal I discovered that I also received a free side of their Feta Fries which are french fries covered in a white bechamel sauce and a generous mound of crumbled feta cheese. YUM!!! The food was delicious, and I see several things on the menu which are worthy of a follow-up visit. There seem to be a lot of Greek restaurants in the Westchase area which is a good thing, and Greek City Café is one of the better ones(in my humble opinion).

The Fountain of Youth Platter — hummus with pita(grilled or fried), homemade falafel, plus a piece of spanakopita. All together on a nice platter for $ 7. Combine that with a Unilocal checkin coupon for some free feta fries and you have a nice evening meal. The falafel is outstanding! Worth the price of admission. The hummus was good but not great. Needed a little more olive oil in my opinion. And while in the complaining mood the feta fries needed more feta. They were free so I shouldn’t complain. Normally they’d be $ 2. I’d suggest charging $ 3 and bathing them in feta. After all, if you order feta fries, you expect a lot of feta, no? Service was outstanding. They forgot the spanakopita from my order and they brought it afterwards, and gave me a free dessert for the inconvenience. I wasn’t inconvenienced but it was a nice touch. I accepted just so I could take a picture and report that the Reese’s cake is awesome! This Unilocal reviewing stuff can be such a drag sometimes! ;) Westchase has a couple of good Greek options, so Greek City Café has some stiff competition. They’re off to a good start and can hold their own. I need to try the wraps and pitas before giving another star, but for now I’m declaring myself a fan. I’m coming back and would recommend this place to any Greek food lovers without hesitation. The falafel alone is worth it.
