Phoever is a surprising paradox of «from away» flavor and real Maine community. An easy fit for the crew, the first date, or a barstool-for-one, their aromatic phở soup always soothes. The real tip is to try one of the Maine-ly monikered entrees. George Mitchell Rice Plate(my staple) or Cadillac Mountain Pad Thai(my mom’s go-to), either’ll make you happy like Mémère Levesque’s home cooking.

Spppppppiiicccyyy. Delicious broth. Good service. And delectable crab Rangoon. Makes me want to move to maine! Definitely a different style Phở than in the city but it’s good!

I’ve been to Phoever Maine a few times and each time has been fantastic. They have a very friendly and attentive staff. Their Fresh Spring Rolls and Vermicelli Rice Noodle Bowls are both excellent choices. I plan to return soon.

Best Phở around! You have to check it out!!! Best crab Rangoon, egg rolls and pad Thai are so wonderful. If you go, make sure to have some tea!

Nice place, nice atmosphere. Service was good. Food was extremely underwhelming and somewhat pricey in comparison to similar restaurants. Plenty of other great noodle bars in Portland to go to. Not bad, but not good.

I ordered a house phở and it was really good! :) me and my friend loved the food but the waitress service was horrible. The asian lady was really sweet and nice but the other waitress was very rude and snappy at us.

Clever take on words for this restaurant located in Westbrook, nearby the borderline where Portland meets. This is the second time returning and the customer service is on point. The owner Jen is a lovely person and remembered me from the last time I was here(which was a year ago). I compliment her and the staff for being so welcoming each and every time. The food is quite plentiful and a good deal for what you get. This time I ordered a simple green salad along with the bun vermicelli topped with chicken and yes all was devoured in that same day. The flavors were basic at best but nothing like that sauce you pour over and for some heat, chili paste and Sriracha. The simple green salad was an ample size for only $ 3.95 and paired with the sweet and sour dressing. They also have a drink menu with unique cocktails, drink specials and a great selection of the local beers on tap as well as wine. The customer service led me to write this review, along with the craving of Vietnamese food. Give it a try and decide for yourself.

First of all, great and clever name«Phoever Maine» We had a party of 6 experienced Vietnamese food diners. Our server, Truc, was not only handsome but very informative on the dishes offered. We ordered spring rolls, egg rolls and wings for aps. The wings were wonderfully marinated. The spring rolls were super fresh and we loved that it had mint which makes it more authentic. The famous Phở soup was delicious! You don’t even need to add hoisin sauce because the broth is so flavorful. Truc was very accommodating with our daughter who is Vegan. SHe just loved the Vegetarian phở and spring rolls. Another must order dish is the Lady Di. So good! We will be back PhoSure!

Going here for lunch was just okay. I really wanted to love the phở, but I’ve had better at other places around Portland. In my opinion, the broth is the star of the show and it just wasn’t the star for me here. I wanted it to be incredible and have a deep, rich flavor that I would think about and want to come back and try again. This wasn’t memorable for me at all. Don’t get me wrong, the broth had flavor and I enjoyed the noodles, but overall my meal was lacking something and it left me feeling disappointed. I wanted more of everything. More flavor, more beef, just more. In more positive news, we received wonderful service from our waitress. She was incredibly attentive to our needs and offered up suggestions for cocktails to try. I’d come back for trivia some night and try some of their unique cocktails, but I probably won’t be back for food again.

Phoever Maine is awesome! The food is awesome. the drink specials are awesome. and the staff are awesome! Need I say more? A group of 6 of us went to Phoever last night for trivia night and had a blast! The gentlemen who hosted the trivia was hilarious and made sure we all had a great time. We enjoyed the drink special which was fresh watermelon sangria. Delicious! Had chunks of fresh watermelon in it. Sooo good! I ordered the phở chicken soup bowl which was also excellent. My boyfriend had the rare beef phở and almost finished the whole bowl!(I use an exclamation point here because you get such a huge portion!) The staff here are super nice and very accommodating. They must have called me by my first name half a dozen times. The daily specials offered here are great, too. Wednesdays are 50 cent wing nights(I’ve heard great things about the wings here). Saturdays are buy one get one free appetizers. I’ve had the egg rolls here and they were delicious. Check their website or facebook page for the daily specials and drink specials. Also, sign up or their loyalty card! After you buy 10 entrees you get one free!

Let me start off by saying that this place is amazing! Not only do they have awesome phở, but they have awesome everything. As someone living downtown, this place is a bit out of the way, but I think that’s what makes it so much better! I’m normally here on Saturdays as they do a happy hour special with 2-for-1 apps and theses apps are deeee-licious! My go-to is the wings…“4 orders please”. They also do a wing night on Wednesdays making these little morsels of heaven $ 0.50 a piece. Comparable to date night. The specials run from 4pm-6pm and then from 8pm-10pm. They also have great drink specials and Jen is an awesome bartender! Overall, I highly recommend this place as the service is spot on and everyones seems to be haveing a great time!

I lived in the Boston and Worcester area for a long time and always got my Vietnamese phở fix when needed. When I moved up to Portland, Maine 2.5 years ago, I was disappointed that there weren’t so many Vietnamese restaurants, but I wasn’t for long when I discovered this restaurant one night driving home from work(didn’t use my Unilocal app then). I had to do a double take on the name because it says, «Phoever.» How cute is that?! Definition of Phở:(You might want to write this down or save it in notes on your smartphone for future reference). It’s a Vietnamese soup usually made from beef stock and spices to which noodles and thinly sliced beef, chicken, or tofu are added. Bean sprouts, basil and/or cilantro and lime are plated on the side so you can add it to your soup. Food: It’s nice to know that every time I go to Phoever, Jenn the bartender, already knows what I want based on past times. I go for the chicken, beef, or tofu and vegetable Phở depending on what I’m craving for and I’m never disappointed. The aromas coming from the bowl when you add the bean sprouts, basil/cilantro, and hot sauce are to die for… I kid you not as I salivate for some Phở right now! The fresh shrimp rolls with carrots, lettuce and the peanut dipping sauce on the side are very delicious and a healthy way to start off as an appetizer. I’ve also had the chicken wings which are so juicy and crispy. love em! Appearance: The restaurant has a few booths lined up against the left side of the wall, tables in the center and towards the window. There’s also the bar to your right as you walk in which isn’t that lively at times, but they’ve got good beers on tap! Customer Service: Truc, the owner is always pleasant and really funny! Jenn, the bartender, is very accommodating, attentive, and worth getting to know because she’s sweet! Waitresses that have waited on me are patient and always get the orders right, so win win!

I arrived in anticipation for a good meal and was surprised to find it was Trivia Night! Traveling from out of town, I was happy to find a relaxing and accepting environment. The whole restaurant was competing in a friendly game while enjoying some amazing Vietnamese food. I had the Seafood Phở which was delicious from start to finish. The scallops, crab, and shrimp were cooked perfectly and the beer washed it all down beautifully. High recommend!

First of all, the punny name. Love it. I may have to start a list for that! Anyone have some suggestions? Also, the food is great. The phở, the bun(especially the Lady Di with so many meats) egg rolls, spring rolls, everything. The only thing I wish they had, that not many Vietnamese places do, is shrimp paste grilled on a sugar cane. My favorite spot down in Boston used to have it and I really miss it. I love the Tet Tamarind, it’s got a nice little kick to it. I think the first time I went I had some kind of corpse reviver deally which I remember enjoying too. The service is always great and the pay it forward tree is a cool idea that is tactfully executed.

What a gem! Four of us came out for dinner and we all had food envy looking at each others plates. Everything looked and tasted incredible. We were warmly greeted on first entering and the service stayed: positive, helpful and fast from that point on. We all tried the fresh rolls which were crisp and light– the peanut sauce that came with them had a great thick texture and wasn’t too sweet. My shrimp Pad Thai was lightly sweet and had a great balance of peanut crumbles, scallion and noodles but the vermicelli noodle dish with tofu that my partner got(don’t worry, I stole a couple bites) was the dish of the night. the tofu was crispy on the outside and silky inside, really well done! I can’t wait to come back and try all new dishes at this fantastic spot!

A friend invited me here to attend an event and we enjoyed it so much we came back with more friends to see the whole menu. We didn’t all fit into a booth but they were more than happy to put tables together so we could all fit comfortably. All of the staff were very friendly and they still remembered those of us who attended the event which was pretty cool. Since the restaurant is called PhôEver Maine most of us decided to try the Phô. I got the tofu and vegetable version and I was not disappointed. First of all the serving was huge! Theoretically 2 people could split one bowl or you could have leftovers but I could not put the chopsticks down and I regret nothing about the food coma that ensued. Flavor was great alone but I added a couple splashes of hoisin sauce and it was just right. Looking forward to coming back to try some of their other offerings, if I can pull myself away from the phô calling out to me.

I was first introduced to this place at an event. I was so impressed with the owner and the way that he shared his restaurant with us that I couldn’t wait to go back and try the phở. I was very happy to see that they have a vegetarian broth and got the tofu and vegetable phở, which was delightful. I had the choice to have my tofu steamed or fried. I got this as takeout since I wasn’t feeling well and the phở really hit the spot. Due to this, I cannot speak to the table service, but the service at the event we attended was awesome. They had appetizers(including a vegetarian spring roll) and the drinks were great– unlike any others I have had before. Very original and delicious. They do have a punchcard too– 10 bowls of phở and your 11th is free! I look forward to going back again soon!

I fell in love with this restaurant during an event that was held there and I decided I would come back to experience it on my own. It did not disappoint! I came alone, but they have the table space to host a group(the menu welcomes groups). The service was impeccable. Jen was very attentive, friendly, and sociable. She really has some ideas on where she wants to see the business and it’s refreshing to see and hear the care she puts into Phoever. I had a bowl of beef brisket phở and it was so so warm and soothing. I move that Phoever’s phở replace chicken noodle soup for the go-to sick day soup because it was a major pick me up! Furthermore, there’s a great selection of cocktails. I had the pear cinnamon ginger martini and I would get it again, and if all the other drinks didn’t sound equally as tantalizing I would get it every time I eat here. Odds and ends: — All the cocktails are original, so you won’t find them elsewhere. — They accommodate for vegetarian and gluten free. — The place can be hard to find, but know it’s directly across the street from a McDonald’s(on Main) that’s super hard to miss. — You can get a mini martini as a sample for $ 3. — The have a loyalty card: buy 10 bowls of phở and get the 11th free. — Great happy hours! I’m bringing the family for Parents’ Day in the near future. Definite recommend! I will be back and I will get another meal for someone in need.

I came here the other day to take myself out to lunch. Some days, eating on your own in a restaurant is exactly what I need to do. Slow down, bring a book, and treat yo self. And on a cold February day, a big bowl of phở is exactly what I needed. The menu is very fun to read — a great mix of Maine history mixed with Vietnamese culture and foundation. I ordered spring rolls and a bowl of phở — and I could not have been more pleased. The spring rolls are the perfect balance — and with the most delicious peanut sauce ever. I really had to resist from licking the dipping bowl. The phở was exactly what I wanted it to be. I was also really pleased with the service. Often when you come in on your own, a restaurant will squeeze you into a small two person table. The place was half full — and I totally would have understood if they put me at a smaller table. But they didn’t, and it was nice to not be needlessly cramped. The service was so friendly and warm — I really loved it there. PHOever is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I also love the location — there is not much going on in that area outside of chain restaurants, and I am often working between Portland and Gorham — so to have this half way between is awesome!

We are big fans of PhoEver, and going there feels like walking into Cheers — the owners and staff know us and are incredibly warm and welcoming. I love their Phở — especially the #15 which comes with thinly sliced beef. The broth is flavorful and warm, and they provide sprouts, lime, herbs, hot sauces, and other add ins. You can also order it with vegetables which provide another layer of color and texture. Appetizers we start with are the vegetable spring rolls(we skip the peanut sauce because of allergies), the beef skewers, or the crab rangoon. All very good. Also great, are their noodle bowls and rice plates. We always order them with the grilled beef and they come in a deconstructed manner — all the ingredients piled or played separately and served with flavored fish sauce. The rice plate is also served with a fried egg that, when cut up and mixed with the beef and rice, is excellent. I’m also a big fan of their wonton soup — great broth and lots of pork filled wontons. I’ll often order that with a banh mi sandwich — I get it with the works with pickled vegetables, pâté and/or spicy mustard and their grilled beef(sense a theme? I’m sure their other meat options are good, we just like the beef a lot!). They also do Trivia on Tuesday nights. It’s a lot of fun, very friendly competition. All around, PhoEver is a place for great food, a comfortable environment, and fun games on Tuesdays. Now, if only they introduced a dessert menu ;)
