Went here for lunch today. You can’t much beat $ 1 street tacos for a quick and tasty lunch on the go. I love their chicken tacos. I can’t say much for their other offerings as I do not eat beef or pork, but have heard good things.

Barbacoa torta! I was on this side of the tracks for some cheap lumber, during my lunch break. I saw all the raza standing in line to get food and decided to give it a shot. Everyone except for one old white guy was Mexican. No worries, though, the owner speaks good english. Service if very friendly and quick. They have a variety of tacos with assorted staples, like beef, pork, chicken. They also have a variety of more adventurous meats, like chicharron(pork rind), head(cabeza), tongue(lengua), pork stomach(buche) for the more adventurous. I went with the barbacoa torta. Pretty good! The barbacoa was like slow cooked pot roast, shredded and left in juice(slow cooked meat in spices). It was spiced with pepper, paprika, chiles, cumin, onion, garlic, etc. It wasn’t spicy just full of flavor.(It wasn’t the more«authentic» barbacoa I’ve had in border towns and other places like Texas and Cali-where the head of the cow is slow cooked for a long time, with the nasty bits of fat and other stuff lending the slow cooked meat an almost buttery beef flavor due to the fat content) The bread was the typical bolillo, toasted and spread with pinto beans, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and cheese slices. It was all pretty good fare for $ 5!
