Checked the hours today and the listing said they were open. But the boards nailed over the doors and windows say otherwise. So sorry we missed the great food. I heard the shrimp is yummy! We’ll be back!

Subjective. A little pricy for what is served but, still good; nice atmosphere if it’s your thing, and right on the water. I think they sorta rest on their laurels so to speak as they used to be a bit more elevated than recent years. Sorta chewy clam strips last some and sand in the clams n linguini– not cool! Also very slow so they drop a star there.

You’d think the south shore, especially Sayville, would have a decent fish joint with a view; nope. This place disappoints on all levels. Food is mediocre at best. We were there to see the Ukulele band Lazy Bunny. Long wait for a table, but good drink service. Underwhelming considering the location.

Food was good. Lobster roll had a nice amount of filling. Service was poor. After our food was served, waitress never came back to check on us, she had to be flagged down. Our fried calamari was extremely over cooked. She did apologize and brought us a new plate of calamari, which was very good. She never came back until we were at the end of our meal. It wasn’t busy so there was no reason for the staff not to be more attentive. Also, when I asked for a sweet n low or equal for my iced tea, our waitress replied«oh, I don’t know if we have that». Great view, decent food, but staff really needs to be better trained.

One and done!!! To get 1 star from me is rare… I’m usually generous but this is deserved. First of all this place is right on the water so I was looking forward to a great time but the view was the only part I enjoyed. Immediately I noticed the salt in the salt shaker was nasty… like it wasn’t changed or cleaned in a long time and the salt on the top had a yellow pink tint to it… gross. The waitress came, gave us plastic forks and napkins and took our drink order and told us the specials which I was looking forward to having only to come back with our drinks to inform us that it was now 5:01 and they weren’t able to cook the«lunch» special… Like the ingredients magically disappear at 5:00. But that truly isn’t what bothered me. We were really hungry so we ordered our dinners and apps. The appetizer came. Kung pow calamari. It was OK… too sweet to be calling it Kung pow in my opinion but hey… half way in I was chewing and bit down on what was apparently a piece of crab she’ll and almost broke my tooth. That was a first for me but again… hey you’re eating seafood it could happen right. Moving along to dinner we get our meals, I had fried shrimp(pretty pedestrian) nothing to write home about… have had better fried shrimp at a Chinese food restaurant… But hey… now the kicker… my wife who ordered stuffed shrimp HAD A HUGEPIECEOFMETALINIT!!! It was about 2 inches long thicker than a paper clip… the waitress asked if she wanted another one… um really?! She offers us a round of beers. Thanks. The management never came over to apologize!!! Bottom line shame on you Kingston. Spend your $$ elsewhere… hugely disappointed.

I love this place– hasn’t changed in years. Seafood served on plastic plates with plastic forks/knives. Super simple menu with a great burger. Pretty spot on the water!

I think the negative reviews of Kingston’s stem from certain expectations people have when they think of sit-down waterfront dining. Accordingly, let’s begin by discussing what Kingston’s is not: At Kingston’s you will not find: –anything fancy –anything pretentious –reusable dinnerware What will you find? You will find a very low key, fun, casual dining experience with quality seafood literally a stone’s throw from the water — certain seats even closer. You will find plastic plates & utensils — if that’s make or break for you then look elsewhere. You will find an interesting mix of folks dressed to go out for the evening, parrotheads looking for margaritaville, and folks who just got off their boats — everyone is generally super friendly so let your guard down & enjoy ourself You will find outstanding fresh seafood options as well as alternatives for the landlubbers in your party, as well as a decent selection of beers, sangrias and other libations — nothing frozen or pre-packaged here You might find a wait for outdoor tables — if you do, grab a drink at the bar and either hang there or on one of the couches in the outside patio area until the friendly hostesses have a table ready for you All in all — don’t go in expecting fine dining and you’re in for a treat

Stopped to have a bite. Service was good but kitchen was a bit slow. Food did come out hot and tasty. Fried shrimp good, fries hot and well seasoned. Mahi fish tacos also tasty. Nice little view of the boats coming and going. kitchen staff needs to pick up the pace.

Kingston’s, you’re resting on your laurels! We’ve been loyal customers for years, and it’s been disappointing for the last couple. We decided to give it yet another try for lunch recently. We were all not only disappointed, but actually angry. Three of us ordered the blackened tuna wrap. You’ve served this in the past. It used to be large and yummy. No more! Cutting corners, are we? The order came with two tiny wraps, not one large cut in half. Each wrap was more wrap than filling. First off, the tuna was nowhere near blackened! It seemed like maybe the tuna they use for their tuna tataki? Each piece was the size used for tataki, and there was no blackened seasoning at all. Each wrap, upon inspection, had exactly ONE piece of that small, flat, boring tuna inside, along with a sliver of tomato and one limp piece of lettuce. And where was the spicy mayo? It was tasteless! I can safely say each wrap measured approximately 3″ L x 2“W x 1″ thick… and I’m not exaggerating! All this for only $ 16…yup, that’s right…$ 16. We STUPIDLY ate some of it without returning it! Why? Because we were all literally starving, and one member of our party is adorably shy about complaining of any kind, so we obliged. We are ALL sorry now that we didn’t return the food. We did however show all the uneaten wraps to the waitress and pointed out our complaints. There was enough left on our plates to warrant her offering to take it off our bill, but we got an apology instead. I just didn’t feel like making an issue of it. Had it been an isolated incident, it would have been worth it. But since it seems to be the general direction Kingston’s is heading, this was my last straw and I won’t be returning. Oh, and the one star I gave? Only there because this review wouldn’t post until I hit a star. Otherwise, ZERO stars is what is really deserved!

I read reviews before deciding to go to Kingston’s sunday night as a party of 7(being a large party we knew there would be the usual wait) therefore we knew the casual atmosphere of Kingstons. Pros: on the water, low-key atmosphere, delicious lobster roll, Kung Pow calamari were delicious(could have used a tad more sauce), parking on site, service was good, clean Cons: expensive for the casual ambiance, other members of my party had the seafood platter(both fried and broiled) and found it bland and dry, food took a very long time(we expected to wait a while since we were a large party but we waited even longer than anticipated), crowded bar, cocktails were on the smaller side, plastic utensils and plates(which blew away with the slightest gust of wind) Overall: nice to be on the water but expensive for the quality of food and overall ambiance

Food was good. Not thrilled with plastic plates and utensils. Menu didn’t have a big selection. Menu on website was very different than actual menu. When asked about they said they didn’t update it yet. Really, it’s July!!!

What you would expect from a clam bar down at the marina, and I mean that in a good way. Note that they are just next to a local oyster processor so their raw oysters are very nice for a place like this.

Service is horrible ! Here for over an hour and still no apps! I ordered stuffed shrimp, and it was just warm, vegetables were cold and shrimp were small and tasteless. Steamed clams were good. Hot wings were pretty good. Nice scenery ! Would come back for a beer and clams… and that’s it.

All I can say is the best lobster roll on Long Island! Their bartender makes the worst margarita you have ever tasted. I actually sent it back but their seafood and beer is to die for! They would have gotten 5 stars if the drink wasn’t so bad!

Good place to have a beer and fries, but don’t order a whole meal there. Food and service are lousy… Ordered clam chowder and it was served without a spoon — by the time the waitress brought over a spoon the soup was cold. Also ordered clams on the half shell. They must have been sitting around for a while as they were submerged in water… Finally, the worst of it all — the baked clams. Not sure what seasoning they use but they tasted like dogfood. On a positive note, the french fries there are pretty decent…

I can not understand the ratings and reviews of this place! It’s my favorite, like so favorite that I was obsessing about them opening, and my boyfriend and I were their first customers this season. They’re perfect for the purpose they serve. Not overly pricy, quaint, perfect view! You want«fine dining», this isn’t the place. Kingston’s is laid back, right down to their baskets. The food and service are always outstanding! Also, try their baked clams :)

I have been here many times. And I’ve really enjoyed the food. However, last nights dinner was so bad, that we will not be going to Kingston’s again. I ordered the shrimp taco’s last night, they have been downsized from 3 taco’s to 2. The burrito is bigger but not the filling size, so the logic isn’t that you are getting bigger taco’s. Additionally, they forgot to add the jalapeños and pickled red onions that have previously always been part of the dish. The worst dinner last nigh though was the poached Halibut special. The fish was bland and it only came with a scant 4 tbsp of cous-cous. For $ 28.00, the dish was an expensive joke.

I happened to pass this place on my way to a college campus training down the street. Clam Bar always sounds good to me. Our lecturer told us this place has the BEST seafood so after 3.25 hours in a dark room on a beautiful sunny day, my boyfriend and I decided to try it out. We ordered food to go because the wait was half an hour and we still had a bit of a drive out to Montauk. We ordered New England Clam Chowder, Crab and Avocado Salad, and an order of Fish and Chips. The New England Clam Chowder was AMAZING. We’ve had clam chowder at basically every restaurant in Montauk. This place had better clam chowder than any other restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. The crab and avocado salad was meh. The crab was really good but the rest of the salad was nothing special. The avocado was TOTALLY under-ripe. I had to break it with my fingers and I could bend it more than 90 degrees. It was totally tasteless and hard. GROSS. Stick it in a brown paper bag. The fish and chips were bland and oily. In their«To Go» container, the oil from the fish made all the french fries soggy. The fish itself was relatively good but nothing like the Fish and Chips you can get at Lunch in Amangansett. I probably won’t come here again but if I happened to be in the neighborhood, I would stop by for the clam chowder ONLY.

After hearing about Kingston’s from friends & family we decided to check it out for lunch this Sunday. Unfortunately we were disappointed. In my opinion, many of the options on the menu were overpriced — especially considering that they use plastic plates and utensils. One appetizer was 2 crab cakes for about $ 13. Since we weren’t very happy with the menu we decided to just try the calamari and have lunch elsewhere. We ordered the Kung Pao calamari. We expected it to be spicy(as it stated on the menu) but it was mostly sweet. Overall it was just ok.
